Description for those that like a read
This Dyson V7 Animal Handstick vacuum cleaner is perfect for pet owners seeing it's powered by the Dyson digital motor V7 to provide powerful suction for a thorough clean of hard-floors and carpets. Its Direct Drive cleaner head has 75% more brush bar power than the Dyson V6 Cord-free for removal of pet hair, dust and dirt. The Dyson 227604-01 converts into a handheld for convenient spot cleaning, and attaching the Mini Motorised tool eliminates pet hair and ground-in dirt from furniture, car seats, and more confined places. Plus, allergy-friendly hygienic bin emptying sees debris ejected straight into the rubbish bin at a push of button to avoid contact with allergens, and with up to 30 minutes run time the toughest tasks can be tackled without interruption. The 227604-01 also comes with a Combination accessory tool, Crevice tool, Soft dusting brush, and a Docking station for fast access to the Handstick when those often, unexpected spills occur. Pet owners can enjoy their furry companions but not at the expense of a hygienic household thanks to this Dyson V7 Animal Handstick vacuum cleaner.
Enjoy!

This purchase is a much easier option than the Aldi fun and games. Take note Aldi shoppers - http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/home/interiors/customers-fl…

I've had a few Dyson's over the years and the V7 is a good price.

    • +4

yeah, there're a lot of Aldi, Costco followers who buy whatever bargain rubbish the shop has and thinking they're getting a deal somehow…
I do shop at both stores but rarely with a trolley

    • I was saying to people that i picked up the same exact model 2years ago for less money (in one of the HN or Good Guys promotions with coupon etc), all while i was sitting on my couch, not waiting in a neverending line for the 10 available in store like some kind of idiot

if anyone wonders V6 vs V7 vs V8, see comparison here
All Dyson V6, V7 and V8 models are relatively similar units and share the same design philosophy, but the main differences between them are in suction power and operating time:

    • Dyson V6: dirt bin volume 0.4 liters, suction power 100 Air Watts (burst mode), operating time 20 minutes (normal mode)

    • Dyson V7: dirt bin volume 0.5 liters, suction power 100 Air Watts (burst mode), operating time 30 minutes (normal mode)

    • Dyson V8: dirt bin volume 0.5 liters, suction power 115 Air Watts (burst mode), operating time 40 minutes (normal mode).

but the main differences between them are in suction power and operating time

And emptying, the V6 are a pain to empty.

    • That’s interesting as the dyson website has about the V7 ‘Its Direct Drive cleaner head has 75% more brush bar power than the Dyson V6 Cord-free for removal of pet hair, dust and dirt.’

Is that the motorised head component?

      • Yes.

    • Thanks for that comparison and link. We don't need the (non-human) animal cleaning powers but think V7 is good step-up from V6. All we want is regular hard and soft surfaces and possibility to cleaning cars. So I guess we need hard and soft surface, as well as long and short extension capability. Can anyone please recommend a version?

    • Thank you

  • Is it worth the $260 price difference for the v8 absolute model?

    • Absolutely.

Depends, the motor and bins are all the same, it's usually just the different attachments.

When the V6 was the newest model, that was the epitome of clean, then clean got redefined with V7, and then got redefined again with V8. Today they tell us if we have the v8 we are Uber clean. The marketing is genius.

Think deeply about it, what does it say about cleanliness 5, 10, 15, 20 years ago. Were vacuums in those days basically useless? I think not coz I used to vacuum as a kid and I saw lots of dust in the bag, today I use a v6 and there is dust in bag. If I get a v8 there will probably be dust in the bag. Come 2030 I’ll be 40 years old and there will be V12 and Dyson will tell me I was living a grotty life in 2017 with my current model.

Has dust really changed over the years, or the marketing gotten better and encouraged us to upgrade unnecessarily?

        V8 came before V7

        • +2

Well I’m glad I got the v6, must be the newer version.

  • +1

I didnt know they had v7 in the range..

    • +11

Now you know, how does it feel?

  • Is is possible to use V6 attachments on a V7 (or V8)?

    • +3

Not sure about the v7. I’ve got a v6 and a v8, and unfortunately they are NOT compatible. The release buttons are on the actual attachments for the v8, whilst they are on the machine for the v6.

      • Thanks Dunc

  • bought one, also bought a $199 one thats still in its box from Dyson ebay last month… Damn impulse purchasing!!

    • hi there, I'm looking for a v6 and I presume the $199 one is a v6, do you want the sell the v6?

I feel for you sitting here in 40 degree heat with no money and trawling Ozbargain for freebies.

      • A few more bargains and Ill be doing the same. You can go sit in the shopping centre on their courtesy lounges and enjoy the free air conditioning, whilst going though ozbargain looking for freebies.

  • I am in the market for a handstick vacumm like this Dyson one. Are these one's actually considered good for a handstick vacumm or is it all the brand name? Any other cheaper brands that do the same job?

    • +1

Your paying for a good item and the brand name, other cheaper brands dont stackup to dyson, but they also dont cost $400+

  • Any pick up available for Sydney?
    Lols ignore that
Was trying to buy it on my phone

  • quiet chat this one… is the deal not great or has everyone gone on hols already??

    • I bought 1
But now I’m wondering If i couldve stacked the 15% gift card thingo

      • I tried with a few a JB stores and they wouldnt price match the 20% off price so No.

    • been a lot of deals recently so I'm guessing that people have already got dysons.

also - this is the lowests its ever been so a good deal from that perspective.

  • Still have $100 AMEX credit for HN…!! Need the same deal at Hardly Normal soon….

  • Never used Good Guys Ebay before.

The checkout page when I bought it says $398.40, but the actual store emailed an invoice with the full $498? Not sure if I did something wrong here?

Thanks for the original post by the way.

    • Because the discount it from Ebay not the Good Guys. They still pay the Good Guys the full price.

    • Discount is provided by eBay, that is why.

  • Bought one, thanks. Great price.

Now should I buy one for office???

  • bought one thanks!

  • Are we eligible for that In store credit deal?

  • Just bought the cleaner. I think it's a good deal.

  • Not sure if anyone can read this, I bought 2 but the wife wasn’t impressed. So I have one to sell for paid price.
