    maybe maybe not…5 giftcards of $100 is only 15% off $500

      Just make another Ebay account.. Takes like 30seconds..

      • For anything above m3 model still won't be enough.

        • +5

          Just keep making accounts. 4 accounts $2000..

          @iJustinz:
          Just FYI I think they keep track of PayPal accounts which aren't as easy to make (and bank/credit cards linked to them also)

        • @iJustinz: Is 2000 the limit per Paypal account, I found I cannot keep creating new account

        • @iJustinz:
          Yes, you can. But
          A maximum of 5 gift cards or $500 can be redeemed per order in store and online.
          For Full Terms and conditions please visit https://www.jbhifi.com.au/Gift-Cards/Gift-Card-Terms-and-Con…

          You can only use 5 per order.

        • @windCheater:

          Online there is certainly a maximum of 5 gift cards. In store I had no issue using 13 gift cards to purchase my Pixel 2 XL preorder.

      • it is not about getting the giftcards from ebay, but to get surfacebook from jbhifi. I think there is a limit of only 5 giftcards can be used in 1 transaction

        • +4

          My understanding is it's 5 if buying online, but can use more instore - just go at a quiet time.

        • I cannot afford their 16gb models

        • +10

          Can buy egift cards with egift cards online. So pretty easy to combine them into $500 denominations

          Easy way to extend expiries too

          @Spackbace:
          JB vouchers don't expire now !

        • @Spackbace:
          Works with rebel ?

        • Seeing as how you can buy $500 gift cards on the JB site with gift cards, it might not be.

          That would only limit you to $2500, but you'd need to make 4 more eBay accounts to cash in (you can link them all to the same PayPal).

          NOTE: the eBay deal is almost sold out so if you haven't done this already don't waste your time (unless you like making eBay accounts and buying in lots of 5x$150).

        • +1

          @jasswolf: it sells out and then restocks. They’re just e-gift cards.

        • @wxyz234: True enough: $50 vouchers are back in stock. Still forces you to make twice as many accounts if you want to do it right now.

  • +4

    dupe of this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/350149 ?
    OP of that deal already lists the 15% reduced price (998/1197) then more savings on top of that from the GCs.

      It's like money laundering but in reverse

  • +3

    Doesn't include all Surface models. The Book 2 is still the same price as it has been

    • Use education discount if you want a discount on the book 2.

      • How much does it differ?

      • Whats the education discount? How do you apply that?

        • 15% until the end of the year (usually 10%)

          Just go to the Microsoft Store on the web and click a button saying you are a student.

        • @Hypnotoad: huh thats it? like no i.d check etc necessary? too easy

        • @ninjataki:

          You need a student or teacher email.

        • @Zylam Marex:

          Nope, I have purchased with the discount before, it just asks what school when buying online.

          No email address required.

        • +1

          @Maveot:
          Can we combine the student deal with the existing 20% discount and can we get the student deal in jbhifi store to include the gift vouchers as well? :)

        • +1

          @zbmat:
          Student deal is off of the original RRP not the discounted price.
          And yes you can pay with gift vouchers in store, but if you buy from JB, the student deal does require an education email, Microsoft store apparently you don't need one.

        • +1

          @Maveot: do they actually do checks or is it a 'formality' type thing, eg I put in some random schools name and thats it thanks for the 15%

        • +1

          @ninjataki

          My daughter was at pre school at the school I selected, never asked her name, she doesn't need a surface.

          I would say have fun picking a school, perhaps same postcode?

          Cheers

        • @Maveot: haha nice :D

    Has anybody had any luck price matching Harvey Norman's 20% off at JB? (https://www.harveynorman.com.au/microsoft-surface-laptop-256…)

  • +2

    the bundle got disc.
    maybe HN can price match https://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers-tablets/tablets/microsof…

  • +1

    Isn't the price actually displaying 20% off ?
    :)

    • Nope…?

      • Looking at the 256gb i5.. Isn't 20% of 1998 = 1597
        I think Jb is also giving 20%…

        • It's $1698 at JB which is 15%. HN is offering 20% and it's $1597 there.

        • @elieb:
          It's 1597 in jb as well

        • @zbmat: ok I think I figured it out… I'm talking about the Surface Laptop, and you're talking about the Surface Pro :P

  • +2

    The actual Microsoft Store AU also has 20% off on 2017 Surface Pros. They also have a 30 day return period thingy in case you hate it.

    Not sure if JB or other stores offer the same kinda deal?

    • Nope. This is only if you buy from Microsoft.

    • no way with retailers you can return. flagstores yes (apple and micr)

  • To use credit card linked to Paypal to buy JB e-giftcard in ebay, will that be classified as "purchase" or "cash advance"? Can anyone confirm ? Thanks

    • Its a purchase - even better if you have the paypal cashback on AMEX you get another $20 off
