Huawei Mate 10 Pro $879.20 Delivered (HK) @ Vaya eBay

170
POWERUP

Finally waited long enough for a 20% off deal for the Huawei Mate 10 Pro

Has both Midnight Blue, Mocha Brown to choose from and list price is RRP of $1099, rather than an inflated price to account for the eBay sale.

This is my first deal post … hopefully I followed guides correctly.

Specs and details of phone here: http://consumer.huawei.com/au/phones/mate10-pro/

Was just looking at this. Just a bit concerned item location is Hong Kong; don't want it to be a grey import with no local warranty.

    • Yea I was thinking the same but at this price I just bit the bullet and ordered.

Their description says [AUS stock] but item location says [Hong Kong] .. however, they also state:

      "Returns -
Vaya is committed to customer satisfaction. We provide a comprehensive returns, replacement and exchange policy, along with comprehensive 12 month warranty cover. All Apple products ship with a global Apple 12 month warranty and can be serviced in all Apple Stores in Australia and around the world. Please check the eBay listing details found above and below for information on the return of goods purchase through this listing."

I'm trying to justify the purchase against this crazy Optus deal atm:

        http://www.optus.com.au/shop/mobile/phones/huawei/mate10-pro

$59 per month for phone and 20GB.

Only things holding me back are:

        1. Optus bloatware etc
        2. Second SIM slot deactivated so only Single SIM through Optus
        3. 24 months is a long contract
        • My experience with Huawei devices on Optus is that you will never ever see a single update. Not even a security update.

If you get the HK version you will get regular updates. It's our stupid telco providers here in Australia.

  • dual sims or single sim?thanks

if its oz stock, then it might be the OPTUS model which only has single sim and OPTUS bloatware or its dual sim with grey black, there is no dual sim model with midnight blue color in oz market yet.

    • there is no dual sim model with midnight blue color in oz market yet.

      Yes, there is.

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Au-Stock-Huawei-Mate-10-Pro-ETA-2…

Comes down to $954.32 after 20% off & Cashrewards

      • also mobileciti stocks dual sim 10 pro as well. but no sepcial at this time.

        • Mobileciti owns Allphones now. So, same company

  • I am going to guess this is the dual sim version - not local market single sim from Optus.
Only jumping to this conclusion because the amaysim store has pretty much the same deal but articulates "Blue is local" & "Brown is direct-import" (and amaysim has a longer ETA for delivery)

For the price, I'm still happy and 12 month local warranty from Vaya is enough for me

    • What prepaid plan are you using with the outright phone may I ask?

      • I'm going to be using my off contract Vodafone plan with it.

        • Stupid question: Does the provider, Google, Huawei roll out the Android updates. For instance if I purchase this phone outright unlocked and have a Telstra prepaid plan, does Telstra roll out future updates?

        • +2

@LLCOOLJ: Huawei roll out updates on this model, no matter what SIM is installed. Telstra don't approve updates for this device, because they don't sell it. Optus do, but that's a whole different SKU so don't need to worry about that on this model.

        • +1

@LLCOOLJ: If you guy an Optus version of a Huawei phone there is less than a 5% chance you will ever get an update, let alone a security patch. The Asian devices will get regular updates.

I have a Voda version of the Mate 9 that has never seen an update. All versions from around the world except the AUS telco branded ones have had regular updates. I will never get an AUS telco branded phone again, especially a Huawei. I love Huawei devices, but the AUS telcos are too damn frustrating to ever buy from.

amaysim also sells the same model. they said its single sim model number is BLA-L09

pls see vaya_shop reply: not sure dual-sim, but 24m warranty ,AU stock with GST ,

New message from: vaya_shop (1,352Red Star)

We can't say in definite as stocks are still due to arrive next month, that is the reason why the estimated delivery starts on January 10. However, likely a single sim as there is none stated in the listing is a dual sim model. Warranty is 24 months as this is an Australian stock, direct with the manufacturer. And yes, an invoice will be provided with GST and ABN indicated.

  • anyone bought from this deal received their phones yet?

    • Yup - Received mine 10/01/2018. Package was wrapped in bubble wrap inside a express post satchel.

      • Thanks for the reply, I assume you bought the blue one (as that's Aus stock). Was the phone sent from overseas and if so did you have to pay GST (>$1000)?

        • +1

Actually, I bought the Mocha Brown one =)

Did not have to pay GST - pretty sure it was sent from overseas warehouse to Vaya AU (not sure where) and then from Vaya AU to me. (received via Auspost with Auspost tracking originating from NSW)

I know I didn't receive it directly from overseas warehouse because I bought another Mate 10 pro from a different seller (Blue) which was sent directly from overseas with DHL tracking originating from Taiwan. (did not have to pay GST on this one either)

        • Thanks so much for the info. I just bought blue just in case using the recent "prawn" code. Really good to know about the gst thing had me really worried.
