Xiaomi Aqara Temperature Humidity Sensor - MILK WHITE US $5.99 (AUD $7.85) @ GearBest

AUEC01024

I asked the rep for coupons for a few Xiaomi smart home products. The Temperature sensor is the equal cheapest that has been posted here. The discount on the door and window sensor is pretty small but still cheaper than anything on aliexpress.

If you want to buy both of them you will need to do 2 separate orders.

I have asked for a coupon on the motion sensor as well. Ill update this deal if gearbest comes back to me with a good price.

Pay in USD if you have a 28 degrees / citi debt.

You need to have the home gateway to be able to use either of these products.

Update 11/1: New code (same price) (thanks ausmechkeyboards)

  • Hi , does the aqara line of devices works with the standard gateway that comes with the 5 in 1 security kit ?

    • +2

yeah, these zigbee devices need the gateway to work

      • ok cheers, i was making sure as the marketing info on gearbest site says

note: this device should work with multifunction gateway remote control

The word should had me concerned….

    • Yep 100%, just make sure you have the latest updates installed, Aqara is just the new revision of stuff, it just needs to be updated to work.

  • Expired already?

    • Still working, you need to login before applying the coupon.

      • Maybe I'd used the code before.. looks like once per account.

  • +1

2 Smart door sensors work (seperate orders) - need to confirm in ticketing not a duplicate order.

  • +2

Looks like temp sensors are gone. Or the code as getting invalid.

  • Is this the "Mars" edition? unless the photo is upside-down?

    • No, it's just because we're in the southern hemisphere and do anything that ships from north of the equator looks upside down.

      • Hahaha… That's a good one 😁

  • i had to pay $1.50usd for postage :( (New Zealand)

  • The Code you entered has expired.

  • any tutorials on getting into this. how it all connects up, etc

    • Yea. Lots online. Very easy to setup. I think xiaomi is good bc the products work well is easy to setup and the cost is low. The disadvantage is their is limited automation options and no integration with other systems (eg Google home).

However if you use a "hack" and a rasp pi running home assistant or similar you can integrate other systems like Google home etc.

  • What is the difference between the Xiaomi Mi Smart Home Temperature vs Aqara one?

    • This one does atmospheric pressure as well.

    What?!
    AU12055 is expired already!

Sorry pal, I asked the rep for more. It usually takes them a bit to get back to me. If they do I'll give you a 15 min head start via PM.

        • Your PM is disabled but I think some more have been added, let me know if it works now.

Seems that Xiaomi have perfected the art of building junk you will never actually need or use.

    • This stuff is actually really good especially if you combine it with home assistant.

    • Depends on the person. Set up Home Assistant running on a Raspberry Pi, and these sorts of sensors are great.

EDIT: OP beat me to it.

    • Do you owen any of these items??..

  • Wow.. sold out really quick. I've missed out again.

  • Gone? Already?

  • Can we also get a coupon for water (leak) sensor?

  • Doh missed it
    :(

  • Sad to have missed it. Well done those who caught it.

I had to laugh. Has anyone actually looked at the specifications for the Aqara Temperature Humidity Sensor?

Claims +/- 0.3% relatively humidity accuracy. WHAT A JOKE!

US$35 factory calibrated T/H sensor components can't do that. Even managing +/-3% relative humidity in the average home conditions would be amazing and require a good sensor.

    • You wouldn't be the first person to doubt the quality of the Xiaomi gear given their price. You won't be the last. But China's economy is very different to the USA's, and Xiaomi gear might be inexpensive, but it definitely isn't cheap.

      • Sure but there's no way it would make those specifications. Given this was posted by someone at that is an affiliate, it's false and misleading advertising under the Australian Consumer Law.

    • If you scroll down to the Q&A in the first url, the seller responds:

      "Hello sylvainA,

The precision of temperature measure is ±3℃。"

So percent must be a typo.

Even then, 3 degrees C error is pretty useless, especially since 25 C at 80% humidity feels totally different to 25C at 30% humidity. For $6 it's ok, would use WirelessTag instead maybe.

  • Merged from Xiaomi Aqara Temperature Humidity Sensor - MILK WHITE US $5.99 (AUD ~$7.85) @ GearBest

I can't get enough of these, looking to have at least one in every room + outside.

This one also has a pressure sensor which the round version doesn't.

Limited to 40 purchases (or 38 after me, sorry). Enjoy.

    • +2

why would you need one in every room? let alone any room

      • +1

To get the temperature and humidity in the rooms I imagine…

      • Linked to humidifiers, dehumidifiers, fans, air con…

        • -2

sounds like a waste of money

    • This code has expired.

      • +1

        appears to still work here

        • Hmm I wonder if I already bought this one earlier with this code…

      • 44 clicks > 40 purchases!

      • Still working here. Just ordered another.

    • +1

What can you do by knowing the temperature or humid level?

I am really curious on how to utilize the data. Thanks.

      • Set aircon or humidifier to keep room how you like it?

        • +1

          Ok. That is why. Thanks.

I don't use humidifier and I keep air con always on in summer for certain temperature. That's why I could not justify the reason of this.

    • Thanks ordered one

    • Thanks got one

    • The Code you entered has expired.

    • I've got a few of these and in general they are great. A couple of months ago I was wondering whether one would work from inside a chest freezer. To my great surprise it did! Flawlessly at first. Great I thought, perfect to make sure the freezer is working properly and set to the correct temperature.

But after about 6 weeks the battery died already. Not too surprising in -18 degrees. Other than replacing the battery every 6 weeks, any ideas on how to proceed? Is there a different battery chemistry that does not mind being operated in -18?

Of course I tried Google. Didn't find any good answers.

      • +1

Most popular types of batteries would fail or not work efficiently in cold weather. The only types of batteries that would be very cold resistant would be the same types they use onboard space satellites

      • Standard Energizer CR2032 (I think these are C2032, the PIR is a 2450 and the door switch is a 1632) is rated down to -30C. You probably won't see full life at -18C but 6 weeks still seems a little short. Perhaps the unit was transmitting more often or simply using more power at the lower temperature?
        http://data.energizer.com/pdfs/cr2032.pdf

The Xiaomi devices seem to come with genuine Panasonic batteries so are probably pretty good. I presume you've used locally sourced brand name replacements?

Maybe try a BR2032 instead? They're more rated for better high temperature discharge (i.e. lower current). Worth a shot.

    • Expired :(

  • Damn that went quick, I only have three!

  • grabbed another one thanks,
anyone know how to make the data appear at the top of the mi home app or is this reserved for their purifier
