    Not seeing the offers!

    • Same here

    • Also not seeing it. I have AmEx Explorer, but I wasn't even logged in at the time so they wouldn't have know that. Has the deal gone? Maybe they hit 10,000 sign-ups already?

  • +2

Doesn’t seem to be limited to those participating stores. Should still stack with other offers.

    • Have you got a manual link ninja?

    • +1

Stacking with 7-11 offer, got both confirmation email from same transaction

      • +2

Also stacked with Travel Essentials Offer

        • Confirming this works. Did a $120 myki topup yesterday for a grand total of $30.
          Thanks AmEx.

      • Can confirm.

  • +2

    Targeted?

  • Got it on both my Qantas Discovery and Platinum Reserve cards

    • Do u have a direct link to register for the offer ?

      • Sorry nope. It was through my app

  • Got it on both Plat & DJ Amexs. Thanks OP!

  • Thank you Op! It didn't appear on my Explorer card 15 mins ago but now it does!

  • manual link please.

  • Thanks OP, got it on my Explorer and Plat Edge.

  • How do you use Apple Pay online?

    • +1

You can use it with Prezzee to buy gift cards.

    • The merchant/store has to explicitly accept it (just like they'd have to accept PayPal for example)

via Safari on your Mac, or iPad or iPhone.

Via apps on your iPad or iPhone

(or instore with an iPhone or Apple Watch)

  • Got it on both my DJs AMEX and my Velocity Escape

  • +2

Thanks OP. The offer seems to be slowly trickling down to all cards, my cards had the offer available to be saved at successive times, sometimes requiring re-logins to get it on more cards.

Limited to the first 10,000 Cards

Better hurry everyone, it's on OzB so it'll go in a flash!

  • Got the offer on all my cards and also already using Apple Pay for all of them actively. I’m not complaining but why would they run their promotions this way? As with the PayPal offer, they’re handing out free money without generating more sales/usage.

    • +3

Left over promotion budget before end of year, and also to try and increase adoption of mobile wallets. Amex is one of the few institutions that support all mobile wallets, and as most people don’t like change they will stick to Amex once they are set up.

    • +1

$50000 to advertise Amex to the merchants as target audience "do use accept Apple/Android Pay with Amex" seems cheap advertising cost. Also, quite sure Amex gets to charge merchants some fees accepting Amex payments regardless directly or through Apple/Android Pay.

    • +1

I hear Atm transactions and eftpos has significantly dropped this year. The dominance of credit cards, afterpay, paypal and online transactions are eating away their market share. This would be one of their tactics to keep their payment method relevant too.

  • +13

Ok found the easiest way to use this offer, at least easiest for me. Just bought a $10 wish card from prezzee app using wife iphone and paid via Apple pay. straight away got Amex email

    • +1

      Thanks Bro, that’s very helpful.

    • +1

Fantastic tip, saved me a trip to the local Woolies!

    • +3

Is this possible on an android device? I can't find an option to pay by android pay on prezzee app.

      • +1

Unfortunately not, only options on the app seems to be Apple Pay and credit card.

    • +1

      Great idea. Thanks!

    • +1

You are a lifesaver. I can now do this overseas and not rush back home!

edit: You know what. Forget what I said. I haven't been targeted on any of my cards anyway!

      • In this case i think you check it once more some time as when i checked initially none of my cards were showing this offer but then i checked again after couple of hours and all of sudden all of them were showing it

    • Just bought with Apple pay on Prezzee but didn't get email…. I used another Amex card in a store and got email…. worry….

  • Does it stack with other offers? e.g. McDonalds?

    • +1

McDicks is one of the authorised vendors, so it should

      • No I'm referring to the Spend $15, get $5 credit deal. IT's a separate offer. But I don't know if it will register if you're using android pay.

        • +3

I'm assuming you spend $15, pay with your mobile, both offers get used at once, you only end up paying $5 for your Maccas.

        • +1

@melbourne guy: yes have previously used android pay on another offer and got cash back or both offers. Pity I can’t see how to get it this time. Maybe because I’ve used it previously.

    • +1

      Stacked with t2 teas.

    • Yup, used it yesterday at a Macca's self service terminal, ordered $15.20 worth of food, tapped phone and got 2 emails - so grand total of $5.20 for all that food. Amazing value.

  • Thanks OP!

  • Cannot find the offer. Please place the deep-link.

  • Thanks OP . Added to my cards.

  • How to use Apple Pay online?

  • Does anyone have manual link?

    • If there is, someone will post it already.

  • Registered from login in to amex website.

Now time to fund stuff for exact 10 dollars

    • +2

      Woolworths gift cards $10 value.

  • How many times can this be used?

Still waiting for the offer to appear for me…

    • Offer is limited to one credit per Card to which the offer is saved and only spend on this Card counts towards the Offer.

  • Thanks OP. Got it on both my Plat Edge and Velocity Escape.

  • +1

Just used it at Coles. Cheap lunch sorted for today

  • +3

Thanks OP + AMEX for sharing the Christmas cheer! Yay $5!

    • +2

More like $100 for the true ozbargainer.

      • -2

I seriously doubt anyone will have more than 20 cards.

        • +2

          You seriously underestimate ozbargainers…

  • +2

Christmas present from AMEX. Thanks AMEX!

  • I've been using my AMEX with Samsung Pay for quite sometime now. Will this offer still work or do I have to register the card after removing it from the wallet?

    • Just used it this morning and are a regular Samsung pay user as well. You don't have to unregister your card from SP- just ensure you save to the offer to your card and pay as per usual and it should come through.

  • Grrrr stupid Westpac Amex is still not accepted by Android Pay..

  • -1

how are people checking if they got the offer on their bank issued Amex?

  • Couldn't find the offer from the link

  • manual link pls? Can't see the offer on the page linked

  • +1

Someone bring forum ninja in here and interrogate him for the manual links =p

    • +1

Same I can't see it on the site, but I found it on the app, after restarting the app with location on.

      • how do you turn location on in appp?

        • +1

You turn It on your phones' settings (android phone), not in the app.

  • Combine this offer with McD offer?

    • I'm gonna use mine for fuel

  • None on any of mine :(

  • Once again, not on my card. Thats the last few that haven't been added to my velocity card :(

    • 3 Amex-Amex cards, but nuffink!

    • Weird you're missing them, got it and the last few offers on my Velocity Platinum Amex

      • Not on mine sadly. Had nothing of note since the Hardly Normal one.

  • Just got my first credit back using Apple Pay through Deliveroo app.

  • Nothing on my Velocity Platinum :(

  • +3

Just spent $15.70 at Macca received 2 emails from Amex ie mobile wallet offer and spend $15 get $5 credit offer.

    • Chiming in with the same experience.
      Cheers AmEx!

  • +1

My cards where they have same log in, for e.g 2 card under 1 log-in, only 1 card receives the offer. Other accounts with single card gets the offer.

  • How do I check if my card is eligible?

    • +1

Login to your account and see if it's displaying under your offers. You'll have to save it to your card.

  • +2

Can confirm this is stackable with other Amex offers.

  • I could see yesterday but forgot to save it and now it’s gone - which usually means it’s reached it’s limit.

  • +1

Seems to stack with the seven eleven offer. Got both emails. Some cheap fuel lol.

  • Not working for me. Expired?

  • Did get it on any of my cards, any chance it might appear later?

  • +1

Today I tried paying with Android pay at Woolies Caltex and Coles Shell. Transaction didn't process at Woolies, but was successful at Coles, generating an email from Amex concerning this promotion. Anyone had success at Woolies Caltex?

    • +1

      Can't help with woolies/caltex
But got the rebate at Bunnings :)

      • Thanks, sure to spend @ Bunnings!

        • Yep bought the Pizza oven posted on OzB
          ($49 one)

        • @snappy1234: Should've been a true OzBargainer by buying a $1 item then splitting the transaction into 5 lots of $10 each. Net result: $25 spend!

    • +1

have been fine at caltext woolies before. I think it's the machine…. some places work with the phone, others are useless. those green looking small hand held ones are the worst… always good to see an android pay or like sign on the machine then you know you're good.

it's also particularly annoying I was told that some contactless machines are setup so they wont accept pay pass amex… so for deals requiring that you have to insert card ….. the newsagent told me they setup amex like this so people can't use it (as it's surcharge/they dont accept)… but it is pretty annoying when amex is treated differently.

I sitll can't work out otherwise why you can insert the amex card in some terminals yet they're sensitive and wont accept paypass? LIke if you can paypass it you can clearly insert it anyway, so surely it isn't a security thing??

      • +1

you can insert the amex card in some terminals yet they're sensitive and wont accept paypass

From what I've read on the subject, MasterCard and Visa use PayPass/PayWave contactless technology which is basically RFID. These two technologies work on the same/similar frequencies.

However AmEx contactless technology, ExpressPay, runs on a different frequency which a lot of machines don't have the required firmware to process. For example the Verifone VX820(which you tend to find in a lot of restaurants and all Woolworths group stores) had to have a firmware update pushed out in order to process AmEx contactless.

However this is information that I gathered only through reading forums here, on Whirlpool and other places.

Happy to be corrected by others in the industry or those who have done more research in this field.

  • I've got a Diamond Amex and didn't get any offer
