        • @Malarkey:
When I collected the battery last year ($76.39 too much!) someone had the charger on order too; Bunnings mixed up our orders! Don't know how you would tell if the charger or battery was a problem though. This battery solved the situation for me at the time.

Was in two minds about advertising it actually; almost threw them out, but for the price I paid for it. If I could have purchased another of the same model trimmer I would have. Battery was a "special order" at Bunnings. Hoping someone who lives nearby buys it so no return postage hassles if it is a problem for anyone. Pretty certain the actual trimmer is the problem though as the base part would no longer lock and turns around now (sticky taped it up!), so probably broke some internal wire. Thought someone would be happy with battery for $10 but has a fair bit of interest.

          @JediJan:

All good mate, I'll just have to do battle with the ebay crowd :)

  • will batteries from other ozito products work on this?

    • Check in store. Different battery for the old (orange/green) model than the newer red / grey model. I think best to check online to be sure, but I think the red ones are the same. If you have other Ozito tool batteries then take photo of back and front of the battery before you shop.

      • +1

thnx for reply, mine are the red one's.

        • I think they are the same but best make sure. I did see an Ozito drill the other day in Bunnings which seemed to use the same battery also. Good buy if the very same battery.

    • +1
    • Not quite sure on that but the 2 different models of Ozito grass trimmers I have used have/had quite different batteries.

If looking at (Kogan) Certa there is a difference between the "Power Plus" Tools batteries and the "garden tools" batteries:

Well found OP. I've suggested this to someone with a small lawn area.

Don't bother going to Oxley, head to Rocklea; they had 30+ when I was there this morning.
You can find them at the end of the line trimmer aisle, middle of the store.

  • Bought one today seems good price but hard to find. Had to get staff to get it from top shelves

  • +1

Minchunbury NSW has 15 at the front promotions area.

  • +1

Oh no!!! I bought the same set from bunnings for $149 about two months ago!!

Any idea if I can return and buy it at $79?

    • buy new one with new receipt, take new item with old receipt and get refund and you keep your old item with new receipt

      • Stealing?

        • stealing what?

        • +1

No, but "Obtaining financial advantage by deception".

        • +1

          @manic:

          Aka stealing 😂

        • -5

Bunnings are making tons of profit and their main competitor went bust so no problem.

        • +2

          @Cleremy:
          So that makes it okay?

        • How is that stealing? Just an Ozbargain way to take advantage of the change of mind return policy.

        • @truetypezk: it's not stealing, but it's not 'taking advantage of the change of mind return policy', it's literally lying about what you're returning, aka, "obtaining financial advantage by deception": http://classic.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/vic/consol_act/ca1958…

    • I did the same today. Buy new 1 and return with old receipt.

  • Carseldine store has heaps - they are not in the garden tools area rather in line with the checkouts, sign had $160 or something but scans up fine.

    • At 4:00pm about 8 left at $79. Boxes appear to be resealed with clear tape so be sure to check contents at counter. Some have been missing the 10 spare blades, if so goto service desk, they are very helpful.
      Thanks op.

      • Same here, got home missing the 10 blades.

        • +1

Ah found them! Just noticed comments further down - blades are in the handle

  • Thanks OP!

I went and bought one. Already have a petrol blower, but the price is better than buying the battery and trimmer separately.

Picked up one of those usb rechargers too for the Power XChange. I have 3 batteries now between the items. Also, Ozito drills and other power XChange tools are heaps cheaper to buy without the batteries + charger included.. So can't hurt to have some extra batteries anyway.

  • Bunnings Rydalmere has them at the regular price of $179. Scanned at $79.

    • Was that the exact same red one as linked in the post here?

When I was searching for them I saw the grey one for $179 and was wondering if there was a price error or they were slow to update the pricing or what. Granted it's not the exact same products with just a different color, it's different specs and gear but I just wanted to check.

      • Same red one. Kit has the regular white price tag of $179. Staff scanned it for me on the spot, and it came up as $79.

  • -2

what are the chances I can return mg grass trimmer skin without a receipt and packaging for this?

  • Since it's $79 on the website you folks after one at store ticketing $149 should be able to easily get it for the discount price, if it doesn't scan up correctly from the get go.

  • Thanks OP
Just picked one up at Narre Warren store they still have plenty left

    • That's because nobody at Narre Warren has money to buy anything.

  • Hawthorn heaps of stock. Marked at 149 will scan at 79

Holmesglen (Chadstone) bunnings had at least 20 if not more at, 1pm today

For all who worry about blades.

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/252989063052

50 blades for $5.22. Yes I have tested them they fit perfectly.

  • +2

Blades can be bought from eBay. 50 blades for $5.22.

    • +2

      Link?

      • +2

Haha. Moderator unpublished my last post with link.
Search line trimmer blades. I believe they are from Kogan on eBay.

Mod: Fixed link (system auto removed as it had affiliate tracking)

        • Thanks mate

    • Thanks; shall have to check those out. Both Kogan and Bunnings sell them. Kogan and Ozito blades are the exact same … save for the colour of the plastic. Hard to tell which ones are best but I stock up and only buy when on sale. Probably use 2 to 3 a time on a large garden with 6 or so trees … last way longer if you don't use them to trim concrete path edges as I do!

  • How is the performance of the snipper compared to say a 4 stroke petrol using nylon string?

    • +1

Petrol ones are obviously more powerful. But this is a value of money for just blades and 5 years of no stress. They arare good for small medium lawns.

  • Thanks. My electric line trimmer has been held together with tape after cracking and also a PITA to set up.
This is perfect for my needs. Bunnings Alexandria has plenty in stock.

  • +1

I got this. They are like toys compared to my petrol and electric versions… It'll only be useful for small jobs but good price none-the-less

  • Anyone know if these last long and what's the average charge time?
Mine garden big but no much tree around so won't have heavy leaf to blow however still take time to blow.
Don't want buy the product and end up with require charge during cleaning my garden.

    • +2

One charge will be enough for one session. 3.0 is big enough for power.

    • Charge time would be about 40 minutes. The blower is quite effective. I've had mine for about 5 months and no problems so far.

  • I wonder if you could mod this one to use string instead… hmm

    • Not possible mate. I tried though.

    • If you want to void your warranty you can Drill out some holes in the bottom and attach cable ties to cut thinking of doing this since I have two trimmers now

  • Can I still return the set bought 2 months ago at $149 and repurchasethis $79 deal? Any idea?

    • Alternatively if you have old receipt. Buy new at $79 and return tomorrow with old receipt

      • I'm thinking of that too.. but do bunnings accept return with receipt date two months old?

        • They accept it even if it's a year old. They have no set limit as long as the product is intact and they still sell it.

        • @gimme:

          Thanks!

I read on their return policy and nothing mentioned on duration.. sounds good and going to buy a new set and return it with old receipt

  • about 4 left in blacktown

  • Future land fill

    • Plastic so recycled

  • About 5 left at Thornleigh (5pm). I just bought for the blower. Was going there today to get the $20 blower but saw this post before leaving the house! Thx OP

  • +1

I bought one for my elderly mother . Saves me dragging mine over to do her tiny driveway . The blower will be light enough for to wield around her tiny backyard .

  • Anyone else notice there's no blades in the box?

Both my parents and mine doesn't have the trimmer blades.

    Stock from 2 different stores.

    • +4

they should be in a compartment on the grass trimmer handle.

  • +1

Thanks to op. Just bought 2…brilliant value. Cheers.

  • +1

If you set your local store on the Bunnings website then each item will show wether it is in stock there,
If it is out of stock then there is a link to 'Check more stores' which will show where it is in stock at other stores.

    • +1

That's weird - I have my local store set, but it's not telling me.

  • +1

I bought one yesterday but it seemed to be missing the screw that holds the trimmer disc in place. Took it back and swapped it out. The edge trimmer works great as compared to my old plastic line 240V electric trimmer. I have a large style patio and I was able to edge around it and then blow it clean and still have 2 of the 3 LED's light up.

Also to note; didn't have to stop once to fix the trimmer blade. My old trimmer I had to stop every 30cm to replace or fix the cutting wire.

    • I only tried a plastic line version once and it drove me batty. Yes; much easier with the little plastic blades.

It's the little circle bit that holds the blade that I end up eventually wearing; I trim around concrete paths etc. They so a great job doing that but wear the blades down quick.

  • Darn it! I bought the trimmer with a 2ah battery last week for $125, and have used it. Can't see how I can do a changeover with the different battery size.

    • +1

If you have box for battery and charger. You should be able to return it assuming you have the receipt with ya

  • sigh, my box has no fittings for the whipper snipper. dodge as hell, most boxes looked like they were already opened but were taped up.

    • Mine was opened and re-sealed as well. Still had all the pieces though.

      • If these boxes weren't taped up they would forever be popping open, you would pick one up and go to put it in your cart and the contents would fall on the floor.

    • +1

Do you mean the blades? Did you look in the container on the handle?

  • BARGAIN - had one of these on my shopping list for 2018. Local store still had them out the back for Boxing Day sale. Told the guy it was on their website already and out they came…

  • There wasn't any in Broadmeadows, Thomastown or Epping. However there were some today at Craigieburn - up against the wall hiding behidn some of the new ones that are 4AH. So not in the aisle but against the wall near the front.

    • Is the 4Ah the same price as the 3Ah??

      • No. I think they are $179.

  • There qre quite many at south morang plenty road

  • Brought 2 from Melton store

    • Why you'll need two?

  • From what I've been told in Vic stores, these are sold out in Melbourne Metro area.

  • Went to Pakenham store. They said these have been recalled and are no longer available. Called the second store and they said they don't have them. Will check fountain gate store tomorrow.

    • would love to know what they had been recalled for… I suppose there is nothing stopping me calling that store from interstate and asking..other than my cheapness and bad phone plan

  • +1

Just picked up one at Bayswater VIC; still 25 left on a pallet in the middle part of the store as of 9:40am, 27/12. Marked as $79.

    • Used mine to snip all the weeds growing on my front lawn, worked a treat on 2 weeks old weeds. Then trimmed the overgrown edges of my buffalo lawn in the backyard, was expecting the plastic blade to pop off; but surprised it held on for approx 5 metres of trimming.

Quite happy with the blower too, blew all the cuttings well enough when held close to the ground.

  • There’s at least 3 left at the Maribyrnong store, aisle 15. 1 on floor level, 2 on top shelf. There’s co-mingling of 3Ah and 4Ah kits so be sure to pick the 3Ah one.

  • Thanks OP! Bought one from Tuggeranong, ACT. There was one more left on the pallet in front of aisle 22. Not sure if they have more in stock.

  • Thanks OP. Just used mine to trim and tidy my small patch of lawn. Perfect!!

  • Hi peeps, did any new buyers had a screw missing please? To screw the spindle plate on to the spindle? The instructions said it’s included but I couldn’t find it in mine.

    • I thought mine was lost but it is in a small clear ziplock-style bag that is easily lost if it falls out when you're opening it. I'm sure you have already but just in case you haven't - check all the packaging thoroughly.

      • Thanks a lot for your reply, hetzjagd! I went over the pack 3-4 times, it definitely wasn’t there. Not an issue though, got a replacement from Bunnings.

  • Coburg store was telling me furphys, on boxing day said they were sold out state wide, next day went back and they had a pallet full in the entrance!

Still couldn't bring myself to buy one, I have a perfectly good corded whipper snipper in the garage that is rock solid and I am pretty opposed to leaf blowers (just makes it someone elses problem) even though I had exactly that amount in Bunnings vouchers to blow.

Oh well. Back to saving up for some Rack It storage shelves!

  • +1

I can confirm there is about 20 units of these left at Belmont WA Bunnings as of Thursday Dec 12.30pm At the entrance just inside the front door on your right there is heaps left
