Broadlink RM Plus WiFi IR RF Remote Control - $19.99 US / $26.60 AUD @ Gearbest

AUscrimshawBRM21

I requested Gearbest to do a special on this shiny new gadget — the professional version of the Broadlink RM series which allows you to not only switch on IR-based appliances, but also controls RF stuff, such as Xbox One.

My intention is to use it with Google Home so I can voice-control most of my appliances using the Broadlink app with IFTTT integration.

Limited to first 50 stock, 1 times per account, HK,AU,NZ,MY,SG,MO,TW only

  • Thanks scrim, will go in handy with the new GHM during summer. Got priority for an extra $1.63 USD which is worth it I reckon.

As far as I know : The IFTTT that Broadlink mentions has nothing to do with Google Home IFTTT unless its a new thing.
Make sure you are buying what u think are buying.
I use it with Alexa through Android Alexa bridge, works well.
    Cheers.

    • There's a bit of fiddling invovled with 3rd party api's, mainly webhooks and you'll also need RM bridge on a android phone to link up the whole chain

      basically

GHome -> IFTTT -> Webhooks -> RM Bridge -> RM controller

I have tried that and it is a bit of hit and miss, also sluggish response. I ended up buying Amazon Echo Dot and it works very well with RM pro.
        Cheerz.

        Better off using Home Assistant

GHome > Home Assistant > RM Plus

  • For RF does anyone know if these things will work with Garage door openers? Also is it HomeKit compatible? Thanks!

    • I don't think so (I don't own one yet..)? But someone last year said this

      • This one does. Anything RF is taken care of.
That discussion was for RM mini.

        • Do you have experience with this and is it easy to setup?

        • @nizsmo:
Its takes a while to learn the codes for each device. But then works like very well.
Once the code is learnt, u can share them over different android devices.
Buy the RM pro plugin and u r good to go.
          Cheers.

        • @Bippz01: Thanks! Any experience with iOS and its app?

        • @nizsmo:

          Doesnt work Mate.
Buy an android TV to run the Alexa bridge.

It doesn't work. only works if the RF is fixed. Garage doors operate on rolling codes.

        • @cart:
MOST garage doors are rolling codes but not all.
Some RF roll down projector screens are also rolling codes and won't work with this.

    • A warning. A lot of garage doors use rolling codes. I have another braodlink model which cant do my garage door. Not sure if this model will do rolling codes?

      • No model can do rolling codes, at least without effectively disabling the original remote. That's the point of rolling code remotes - the rolling code is there to specifically protect against cloning.

        • It would be good if the broadlink could be set up as an additional remote

I enter the code, and it says:

    FIXED PRICE Coupon: $19.99
Code for single unit price only; VIP Price, Special Offer or Group Deal all exempt.

…but it still shows up as $44AUD in the cart, and in Paypal.

Seriously, that's the second time GearBest have tried that with me; at least this time I caught it before having to argue with their useless, won't-honour-the-code customer service for a refund. What a dodgy company!

      Clear history and retry

    • worked for me, just bought one :)

Anyone know if this can learn RF commands? have a few obscure devices i'd like to control that probably wouldn't have presets

    • +1

Yep - can record and replay.

  • A lot of stuff like garage door remotes do code hopping so can't be learnt. Instead you need to use something like a wemos d1 to "push" the button on the remote for you.

    • Instead you need to use something like a wemos d1 to "push" the button on the remote for you.

If you're hooking up a Wemos D1 or something similar, you might as well hook it up to the garage door motor so you don't have another remote to worry about?

  • will it work on rolling code remotes like garage door
RM mini2 and 3 wont work
    tnx in advance

    • No. Use wemos d1 or similar.

      • tnx bro

  • How good is this? Can it extend gaming console controllers?

  • Fyi: Not all IR devices run on 38k freq. Foxtel is a big omission, I'm sure there are others

What's the difference between this plus version, and the pro?
Just the ugliness of the plus?

  • Expired? I can't get it to work on any of my accounts. AU IP. 50 might be gone?

  • Got mine today. Was able to add all of my devices (both RF and IR) to the econtrol app. Just trying to figure out how to connect it to the Google Home Mini as I can't seem to get the RM Bridge to find the RM Plus.
