  • Nice, but I’m surprised these are still around? Probably thanks to Myer’s usually uncompetitive pricing, but this is a great deal. The 2017 MU series didn’t really improve on the KU series, so I wouldn’t let the fact that it’s a 2016 model hold you back at this price.

    • Seems to be an online special - can't find any in the stores!

Got this for $950 from TGG last year around this time. Awesome TV.

Has some HDMI sync issues with my receiver, but fixed it by just outputting audio via optical.

These will fit in a standard falcodore sedan rear seat area by the way in the box so if can locate in store it is a good price otherwise the $65 delivery takes the sweetness of the deal away. Counting down for keyboard madness on boxing day.

    • They'll fit in any car. Got it in the back row of my hatch with room to spare on either side…

      • Just be careful on those speed bumps!

    Isn't a UA55KU6000 UHD?

  • Are there any discounted Myer gift cards deals around?

    • Does anyone know if racq works with this or not. Terms and conditions on the main page says no online purchases whilst full website link says it doesn't.

      • +1

Too late! Ok the 1300 398 226 hotline says it does work for online purchases.

      • +1

Just purchased the mu6103 with egift card from RACQ for an additional 6% off.

Which is better? SAMSUNG MU6103 or this?

    • +1

I asked a Samsung rep through online chat and they are both exactly the same TVs.

The KU models are 2016 UHD while the MU models are 2017 though they are the exact same TV. So the KU model has just been rebadged from the MU Model and the only difference between the two is that the KU model has a Silver stand while the MU Model has a black stand.

You can buy any of the two as there is no difference. You are only picking which stand color you want.

      • So are they both smart tvs?

        • Yes they are.

    • +1

I just pm'd aja12 (first one to comment) and this was his response:

'The KU series is from 2016 and the MU series is from this year. The MU6103 is the MU6100 without Bluetooth and comes with a standard remote control instead of Samsung’s “One” remote. Everything else is identical.

Samsung didn’t really make many changes from the KU6100 to the MU6100/MU6103, so picture quality should be fairly identical. I would just double check that the KU is brand new and not refurbished. JB recently got a batch of the KU series, but they were refurbs.'

Great price but no headphone jack, I'll be waiting for a deal on a 60" :D

Ther isn’t any option to pickup in VIC
    Won’t allow for delivery either.
    Ozbrgnd?

  • Very old model, of course it’s heavily discounted, just to bad it’s not a plasma then it would rock.

Bought this TV last year from JB for about $998. It's been awesome and the wife loves its smart features and usability compared to the previous Changhong we had. We use it for Netflix, Plex and occasional free to air. We don't have play any games on it though so I can't comment on that side of things.

I know there's a lot of heated debate about 8bit vs 10bit but at the end of the day when it's in the lounge room and there's nothing next to it to compare it to, it looks pretty damn good to me.

    • Samsung always jack up the saturation in their displays for sure so it looks more pleasing. Once you see 10 bit you can't go back…well you can but prefer not to haha. Some movies look crap after their mastered in HDR anywua.

Nice effort on the detail in your post rawm. Comprehensive.

      Thanks - much appreciated :)

  • Either of these have HDR?

This or a Hisense 55N7 (assuming I can get that for around $950)

    • hisense for sure

  • I just got Harvey Norman (Fountain Gate, Victoria) to match the price (minus the $20 discount code) so still got the MU6103 for $899! Give HN a try and see if they will still honour it! Happy hunting all!

  • +1

Good price but not a good TV

  • Deal of the century but the Aldi 65" is better :D

  • just has it listed for $998 - hopefully some of you can get it down to 890 / pm myer.

I don’t know if that is really cheap for this TV but in truth, the outdated retail price of $1799 is misleading since today you can purchase a 55” OLED (LG B7) for close to that figure. $1799 is not a realistic retail price for a measly LED TV & thus should not be used.

Thanks OP. I managed to get the last unit (the one on display) of this from Myer Cannington (WA) for a further 30% discount making it $630 only. However, I'm a little concerned if I took a good call and would this still have all the official warranties honored by Samsung starting from the purchase date. Anyone here with an advice or good/bad experience with display unit purchases??

  • +1

Thanks for the deal OP. The TV got delivered yesterday. Very happy!
