    Great with 15% off voucher.

    • +2

Where can I get the 15% off voucher?

      • +1

        Too late.

    • How do the vouchers work? Can they be used in store and can more than 1 be used?

      • Up to 5 gift cards per transaction

      • Yes

    • +2

They're out of stock now sadly

  • -7

no iphone x discount yet damn :( been waiting a while

  • Does it still include a Google Mini?

    • yes

      • Good deal!

  • +1

I purchased this 2 weeks ago and I went in the other day to recoup $50 from the last discount. Can I go in again and recoup again? It's still within the 2 week period.

    • +1

How did you go with the $50 refund? I purchased mine on the 12th

      • +1

I just walked in and asked for it, they did it on the spot.

    • +1

Haha am wondering the same thing

Or can my purchase protection on the credit card assist me here?

      • Hopefully it's still the same price on Boxing day. I'm gonna email JB today just in case they put it back up before their physical stores are open again.

        • +1

It will be. I work at a JB and the sale has gone online early for us to allocate online orders on the morning of boxing day

        • @lemonliam:

Thanks mate. Any idea if I can get a further refund if I already got one from the last discount $1449 to $1399?

        • +1

@Keveira: depends on the store and the management really, they'd probably honour it but no promises man

        • +1

Thanks for the reply @Keveira. Do you know if you have to go to the same store you purchased the phone from? I bought mine in Sydney while I was interstate for work. @lemonliam

        • +1

          @chiprillis:

No idea. I went to the same store. You're better off asking that other guy that commented on my post, he works at JB.

EDIT: NVM I see that you did just that

        • +1

@chiprillis: it's helpful trying to do it in the same region but you can go to any JB for price adjustments or warranty queries

        • @lemonliam: Thanks guys, I'll see how I go when stores open in a couple days

    • -1

      Cant hurt to ask.

    • what two week period?

      • You can get a refund, on the difference of price, if the item you purchased has reduced in price within 2 weeks of your purchase.

    • FYI - I had no issues getting a $150 giftcard for the price difference of the XL.
I had originally purchased on the 21st of December though - did it yesterday in the madness - no issues.

  • +1

I just signed up yesterday for 2 Pixel 2 XL on 18 mths interest free. Any chance I can get the $300 refunded to me ?

    • Did you get the 18months interest free through jbhifi ?

      • Sorry, just saw your reply. Yes, I did get the 18 mths through JB.

  • +1

I got one today with 15% vouchers and $10 coupon…..so I will get $150 back and I want another coupon BACK!!!!!!!!

    • Which $10 coupon was that?

    • +1

How did you get 15% vouchers and $10 coupon? Were they both stackable?

      • I got the offer from woolies and coles for teen cards(jbhifi on them) at using 5% off cashrewards vouchers and the gift cards were 10% off…..I then converted the $50 cards to $100 Jbhifi cards and got the $10 Coupons(14 of them!) Paid for phone with gift cards and $10 coupon!
Actually should get back $140 and I want the cash….not gift cards…..mmmm

  • +1

$899 for a phone isn't even close to cheap by any standard. Good phone though.

    • Cheap is relative

      • $899 isn't even relatively cheap if that sounds right. $400 is nice and cheap, relatively and otherwise.

        • It’s all relative. If someone is earning $500 an hour then that’s cheap. If they’re earning $5 an hour, then it wouldn’t be cheap to them.

        • +2

@Slave1: Fair enough. I am referencing to what an Australian is earning on average and what the cost of living is (including property prices/rental).

        • @virhlpool:

Really…. is that why you wrote ‘by any standard’ ?

          Good grief.

Screen issues. Lot of refunds and backlash.
    Terrible viewing angles, blue hues.

They will release Pixel 3 early.

    • Yet people are still buying it - highly doubt you'll see a Pixel 3 earlier than their usual release cycle.

      • Yeh they are, great phone but not perfect unfortunately. Just not worth price I feel. I think screen is why they are discounting so hard, not selling so well.

    • +1

Only the XL has display issues

      • +1

The standard one has huge bezels and 1080 screen.

      • +1

LG you have done it again.

  • +1

Waiting for 600-700 for pixel 2 reg size in a few months

  • +6

Worst screen in all 2017 flagships.

    • -2

Happens to be in the same family of the equally bad iPhone X screen

iPhone as well? If the screen quality sh*t like this and with the premium price tag, it is the worst flagship in 2017 for sure or the worst phone.

      • The Pixel xL screen which has been having all the issues is made by LG. Iphone screens uses Samsung panels. They're only in the same family in so much as they both use a proprietary LED technology instead of LCD. While some users have observed a blueshift with the iphone X it is no where near as bad or noticeable as in the Pixel Xl and other LG screens like the V30. The issues is far from equally bad.

      • -2

Ipx has its issues, but don't even try to put into the same ballpark as the pixel xl 2 screen problems.

  • +2

screen issues blown waaay out of proportion. Every Oled has blue shift from angles and who da faq views their phone from an angle anyways? Burn in is a problem on all displays, it's just cos this is Google that it's in the spotlight when in reality it doesn't have anything wrong with it compared to the competition

    • +2

I wondered how bad it could be, so I saw one in person. The one I saw was terrible. Right then and there I knew this was a dud. As for angles, I very often view a phone from an angle - it's flat on the table and I'm not looking directly over it, or it is on a mount in the car. I don't take selfies, but I guess that would often be at some sort of angle depending on the angle you are capturing in the photo.

    • +2

My S7 and S6 don't have such a strong colour shift, neither does my iPhone X.

Phones are quite often seen at angles…when in the car mount the phone is to my right side.

For the price Google are asking for the phone, it's a very lacklustre screen to use the mildest of words.

  • +1

I bought Google Pixel 2XL outright just 2 days back, and had confirmed with the salesman that if this phone falls in price on Boxing Day, I shall get the refund of the difference.
    Took the punt.
    Smiling now.
Loving the phone. All the best.
Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year 2018.

    • +1

      New #metoo campaign ;)

    • Refund means cash or gift cards?

  • +1

Doh I just picked one up on Friday and I'm going to be interstate for the next week - do I have to go into the original store in person for the refund of the price drop or can I do it at any store?

    • +1

Don't know about interstate, but I was told that I could get the refund at any of the JB Hi-fi stores that I mentioned, which were closer to home.

      • +1

Thanks, can confirm they were happy to refund the difference just needed the receipt :)

    • +1

I bought mine for $1449 2 weeks ago. Went to the same store for refund or store credit and they rejected it. Sent an enquiry through JB website and wrote what happened. An hour later got a call from the store manager, he apologised and said come get $200 refund.

      • Did you get gift card or an actual refund

        • Refund on credit card.

  • Lmao discounted again :/

  • +1

Not sure if I want to wait until the GG 20% discount for the Note 8 or just just get this for the vanilla Android OS.

  • Is anyone got a confirmation to pickup on Boxing Day?

    • Ordered one thru Adelaide City store.
No confirmation yet but I wouldn't imagine I'd get anything until tomorrow morning

      • I hope i can pick it up tomorrow, my Nexus 6p is dying, when it reaches 20ish% of battery, it dies.

        • I'm on the same boat. 6p is slowing down and dies when batt at ~11-13%

Worth upgrading to pixel 2 xl?

        • @chew_chew: Mine is in boot loop mode since last Friday.. didn't have a backup of some apps that don't connect to my google account :S

        • Picked it up today.
          The city store was crazy.
          Loving the phone so far.
Screen tint issue is only slightly more noticeable than my old note 4 but doesn't bother me.
Still getting used to vanilla flavoured Oreo compared to Samsung lollipop.

I have seen lots ebay auctions offering Pixel 2 with earphones and google home mini. They are mostly Australian stock from Telstra. Some of them ends on about $750 mark. What do you guys think?

    • I also have been interested, damn cheap for a brand new flagship. They may be carrier locked to Telstra, some of the ads are saying from JB though. Also not sure how the warranty would work, even if you have the invoice, you aren't the original owner.

      • +1

I did bid on an auction and won. Paid $770 for it. I'm not worried about being the original owner, I just say it was a gift.

Pixels are unlocked mobiles. It is just that Telstra and JB HiFi are the authorised sellers.

        • Thanks for the info mate.

  • When people get the refund is it in gift cards or cash?

  • Are people getting slow charges with the fast charger !? I watched a few YouTube videos and it’s not what a 45w charger speed…

  • Does anyone know if the bonus google home mini is an instore only offer or if it's also applicable when buying online?

    • The Phone, Google Mini and headphones all picked up on Boxing Day.
Seems rather backwards providing headphones that still require a 3.5mm jack, but nonetheless at least it was provided. Admittedly haven't opened that box yet though.
