I’m generally away during the winter so have the summer to hang out watching cartoons with the kids. The quality is always fantastic when you're watching through the OLED TV. The thing that stood out to me is the blacks in the OLED really shows and distinguishes those colours very very well. I love the OLED. One of the things I look forward to when I come home is actually being able to sit on the couch in front of my OLED TV.

Fark, love this ad. Me and my mates always talk trash about looking forward to watching cardhooons now.

Re deal - how does the Panasonic 65" compare to the LG? The LG has regularly been available for $3500 this month.

      • +1

@HereBobButtons, See my post below re Panasonic vs LG vs Sony

  • IMHO, the LG and Sony OLEDs are the best OLED TVs (Btw, I prefer the LGs specially for gaming, etc)
Before buying be aware that the Panasonic OLEDs use Firefox OS which has been abandoned. Read this review:
    Panasonic EZ950 OLED review (OK/POOR UI+OS/EXTENSIVE CALIBR SUITE/Score:83%,65" 3840x2160,HDR10,HLG,MPEG4/HEVC/VP9 Profile2,Firefox OS->My homescreen) | FlatpanelsHD (Jul17)

Also Panasonic never update their software, and their FireFox OS are bloody slow.
For OLED better of getting LG or Sony for a better price and a better TV.

    • +1

Your review refers to the EZ950, which is still a fantastic television.
You are correct, it did receive a 83% with website Flatpanelhd.
Flatpanelhd‘s review is the ONLY lowest review online for EZ950.
**Just a reminder the EZ1000 is a ‘Master Panel’ that beat both top of the range SONY & LG OLED TV’s. Added, the EZ1000 has a Technics tuned sound bar.

      • @msjb, They all have the same LG OLED panels, the only differences are the OS, plugins, CPU, speakers, and firmware
Master Panel?? Do you believe the BS marketing?? OK their calibration capabilities are Very good, BUT their OS is VERY POOR particularly
combined with a very slow cpu => POOR UI/SLOW RESPONSE
Also they are still lagging LG and Sony in the capabilities and plugins

        • Yes, all OLED panels are made by LD Display that Panasonic, SONY and LG use.
It’s in each company’s R&D that makes one panel stand out and differentiated.
This is where the Panasonic stood out and why it won the 2017 OLED Shootout against both SONY and OLED tv’s.

          Individual Category Scores

Contrast Performance: Panasonic 65EZ1000/EZ1002 OLED first with 4.62 points, Sony 65A1 OLED second with 4.43.

Color Accuracy: Panasonic EZ1002 tops with 4.70; LG B7 second with 4.37

Motion: Sony A1 tops with 4.35; Panasonic EZ1002 with 4.19

Uniformity: Panasonic EZ1002 tops with 4.49; Sony A1 second with 4.10

Video processing: Sony A1 tops with 4.51; Sony ZD9 second with 3.98

Gaming: LG B7 tops with 4.46; Panasonic EZ1002 second with 4.11

Bright Room: Samsung Q9 tops with 4.37; Sony ZD9 second with 3.77

HDR: LG B7 tops with 4.19; Panasonic EZ1002 second with 4.11

Sorry mate, good try. But if one is after The Best of the Best for PICTURE and PROCESSING, it’s the EZ1000… which is awesome under $5000 now.

        • @msjb: Love all those numbers, If you believe Panasonic's marketing, then pay the extra
BUT I would think twice before doing so.
At least Sony has the Crystal Sound renamed to Acoustic Surface

        • @keengeorge: LOVE numbers, especially when they’re independent from the manufacturer.

The 65" OLED IS AVAILABLE AT VIDEO PRO after 20% off for $3500 plus $77 freight.
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Panasonic-65-TH65EZ950U-4K-OLED-…

    • Wow! That’s awesome for the ‘65 EZ950 via eBay at Videopro!
Myer’s deal in the top of the range EZ1000 is STILL better at Myer even with the eBay discount which is limited to $1000.

  • Rubbish delivery area and can't even click and collect. Basically can't buy it.

We have the Panasonic EZ1000, my parents have the Sony A1 (65 inch), and my parents like the picture on our set much more that their Sony A1. Though they returned two of the Sony A1's after having vertical banding (Very clear stripes near the center of the screen), it is still an LG OLED panel lottery I am afraid to say with all end manufacturers using the LG product. We like our EZ100 picture more too, but we may think that to cover the extra money we paid.
The EZ1000 soundbar was no interest to us as our panel connects to a DTX/ Atmos theater system (As I assume most people spending this amount on a TV will be doing as well).
Each to their own of course. My daughters (Both in their late 30's) cannot tell the difference between DVD and a 4K movie, so if you have vision impairment it will not be worth the extra money either.
Go in store and compare the EZ950 against the EZ1000, I would hope you see the difference too.

Don't forget the value of the Myer One points (about $100 on the EZ1000) and 3.6% via Pricepal ($179).

Really annoyed I can't buy this from Tasmania. No wonder Myer is in trouble.

    • Dude, go into an electronics store with a link of this OzBargain post. Show them and they’ll hopefully match for you.

      • Yes, I was thinking of going to JB, but couldn’t be bothered. Got it off eBay for $5350 with a 2 year price protection credit card so most likely will be able to claim some back in the future.

  • For those looking at the EZ950 be warned that it doesn't support Dolby Vision, just HDR10.

    • I think that’s so for all the Panasonic’s. Not sure if it matters too much.

    • Most 4k Blu-rays will have HDR10 while Netflix has a mix of Dolby Vision and HDR10.

      https://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/2016/08/17/hdr10-vs-dolb…

      • You say tomato, I say tomato.

I think it’s amazing our beeachy and nitpicking people can be.

At the end of the day, my post was to let Aussies save money.

A heavily discounted top of the line Panasonic, that happened to win heaps of awards by Tech journalists as well as a TV shootouts compared to top of line SONY & LG OLED’s.

And for theEZ950, ain’t much different to the flagship EZ1000.

If you’ve after a tellie with the best picture, can’t go past them.

If you’re traumatised that the OS is clanky, I’m sure you’ll have a XBOXor PS4 attached. And that’ll have all you need.

        • +1

Wasn't nitpicking. Just informing those that may want Dolby Vision that this set doesn't have it.

For the price of the set it's a bargain.

        • @mrpickle: was a bargain… back at $6499 at Myer for the EZ1000
