    Got it!!!

Click to collect became available on checkout. Yippee!!!

    • Excellent news!

      • +1

Thanks OP, eBay made that much harder than it had to be, but awesome price in the end. I have the shakes now, don't know if it's the big bargain, the skipping of breaky waiting for the deal, or the coffee. Most likely the combo of the three. :)

Very pleased, maybe you can update listing to say Click & Collect is now available?

        • +2

Yep already done so! I know that it was a pain but an awesome price in the end :)

        • +1

          @doweyy:

Been following this post since you first posted OP, you’re a legend mate. Never thought I’d get an OLED in my budget. Still buzzing from yesterday, was even able to pick it up too :)

  • +1

Got it to work at 10.35am qld time

  • +1

Wow 76 Sold in the last 10 minutes and counting.

I wonder how many LG have in their warehouse.

    • amazing huh - plus a few more @ BL - I better start selling accessory for this OLED - Tempered Glass Full Cover Screen Protector anyone?

      • Now 101 sold. Looks like Click and Collect is also working.

        • 138 now and they still have stock.

  • +1

Just ordered one from binglee(10 bucks less for delivery), it finally worked.

    • Looks like BingLee out of stock?

      • On my phone it reads “more than 10 available”

  • +2

Yep. Just worked for me. Hello my 2nd OLED.!

  • Ordered from Bing lee pickup Marrickville. Moore park wasn't working.cope applied

  • Works, thanks OP

  • Yep working now $1700 and I'll pick it up today!

  • Man…I need a 65 inch deal…..

    • +1

      $3470 from MYER.

    • The 65 c7 isn't too bad for 3500 at Myer… I nearly did it myself but then I found out oleds suffer from image retention so I'm kinda turned off them now :-/

      • Hello guys,

'oleds suffer from image retention '.. yeah I read that too, but seems to be the case with watching constantly for prolonged period of times.

As Spizz said, 3470 is a good deal but I don't know if I need to just hold off till the first week of Jan to get a better deal (few hundred off).

        • I plan on playing games and I have a htpc hooked up that may sit on a static screen occasionally so I've just about ruled it out… Looking at a 75" led instead…

  • +1

They allow pickup now which is good, now to explain to the wife.

  • left the computer for a bit and came back to a stack of comments saying it's working!

had a minor freak out when i couldn't complete my order, trying about 8 times, all with the same error "Something went wrong", yada yada
In the end i think it was due to the store i selected not actually being in-stock. My 9th attempt my preferred store wasn't listed, so went next closest and…. success!

Thought my ebay account had been locked or something…

Hopefully it's ready for pick-up today, that would be nice.

  • +1

Couldn't resist as this price. Time to replace my trusty budget Hisense. Can't wait to see what everyone is raving about.

    • I’m in the same boat. My current Hisense is a 37” FHD LCD that’s 9 years old so will be interesting to see the difference. I’m hopeful, that fingers crossed it’s a decent improvement.

  • Purchased with everything going right eventually. The failures for over an hour are difficult to understand since this should all be prepared well beforehand and is such a common operation for eBay. Unless this is deliberate to produce more buzz.

  • +1

Got a call from TCG and delivery scheduled for tomorrow already. Thought would have to wait for at least a week or two.

    • Got the same. Good service! I like how they deliver it from the local stores.

  • So desperately tried to resist this purchase. Gave in. Going from a 60" Sammy to this 55" OLED… hopefully size won't bother.
    edit- typo corrected

  • +1

I ended up going into the store and they price matched the online price of $1699. I purchased it on the spot.

  • +1

TO ALL WHO MISS OUT I may have an extra as I purchased a delivery before realising C&C had become available so then requested cancellation of the delivery through eBay and bought another one for C&C.

If they don’t honour my cancellation request I may have 2 of these on my hands and only a use for 1 so if this is the case I will be selling my 2nd one on eBay for exactly the same price I paid for it. So that will be $1749.34 with free postage.

I will keep this post updated.

    • +1

I'll take the spare if you get it

      • Won’t the warranty be in your name and not transferable?

        • +1

Also eBay fees are like 10%. You will be loosing big time

        • @pacsman: eBay often offer free transaction fees these days

      • I will let you know as soon as I know.

Still haven’t heard anything yet so pretty worried…

      • They honoured my cancellation request today and I was told on the phone I will receive all my money back, including postage within 3 days.

        Nice.

  • Got click and collect from my local store and saved that extra bit :)

  • If your local doesn't have stock could you be waiting a long time?

  • Yeah the hairs are now standing up on the back of my neck in regards to LG rumours after such a swathe of price drops in the last few days.

Current OLED tech uses some pretty rare metals to meet requirements for a few things (notably blue OLEDs, and compensating for them), so I think we're about to see TDF OLED get rolled out for CES, meaning a reduction in subpixel requirements and a significant improvement in manufacturing costs.

If that's the case, OLED vs LCD isn't even going to be a question, and mLED (theoretically superior, but NFI on initial costs) will be the competing tech if it's ready.

  • +1

After a long deliberation, i also bought one. Been following the OLEDs for some time so hopefully this is all its cracked up to be. Upgrading from a 9yr old Samsung SD Plasma (with a W7 HTPC), so I'm expecting big things. Still a lot of money.

    • You may be saving a lot in just reduced electricty prices. The energy star website seemed to say this tv consumes 144w, where as my 9yr old HD samsung plasma says 550w on the back of it.

  • Boys I just mounted this thing on my wall an hour ago, it's godly AF.

    • Any photos?

    • What did you do with the hardwired power cable?

  • +1

Can someone who bought it tell me the dimensions of the box please? Just trying to figure out whether it'll fit into my car. Thanks!

    • +2

      GDay,

      I just measured it

      1440mm W x 820mm H x 220mm D

I have a 2005 BA Falcon Sedan and it was a struggle to fit in the back seat. I had to open both rear windows as the box protruded.
Both ends suffered a little pressure hence marks on each ends from the door trim handles however very minimal.

The GG dispatch assistant said it is OK as it is padded however the wafer thin panel half way up is a concern however both marks are @ mid height.
So I'll see how it goes.

      Cheers

      • Cheers mate!

        • +1

Onboxing it pretty good so far.

You cut the straps and the top of the box lifts off. Therefore no reaching inside the box.

          Cheers

  • Darwin, NT only has one store and it shows out of stock. I wonder how many they even HAD to begin with. Plus the postage on ebay is $155 so this is a difficult decision but I think I'm going to have to skip it. Is anyone from Darwin here and did you manage to successfully buy it with C&C?

  • +3

Like everyone else, who has been constantly watching the sales like a hawk (went from 200- 370 as of 4:11pm). But alas even after debating over $800 saving, OLED flaws, why I need another tv as my 6 year 40" 3d LED Samsung still working in my bedroom and we have a 65" 4k SUHD in the entertainment room and after EVEN going into the store just to admire it in real life. Im probably the only person that passed on the sale :3

Hope everyone else is enjoying it and i possibly don't regret waiting for some time!

    • +3

Ha I also did all this.

    • Im pretty much on the same boat as you. My 32" FHD Panasonic refuses to die after 7 yrs. And my 49" 4k Sony is only 6 months old. I'm hoping to wait out for a few months and grab a good deal on a 65" oled

  • Anyone who is a gamer care to comment on this re image retention? Especially games like fifa? Very keen, but almost too sceptical. HALP!

    • I am just at the process of setting it up with my PC and will get back to you how it behaves.
According to reviews, it has 21ms input lag for gaming which is pretty good.
My other LG U55UH770T is renowned for 4K gaming last year and works well with PC however is has twice the input lag ~ 41ms.
      Cheers

    • +1

Use my OLED for majority gaming and never had an issue with IR.

      • May I ask how much you play? Average hours per day?

        • +1

Around 2 hours a day for 3 years.

The trick is to mix up your content. Like if you are going to game on it, make sure to also watch some full screen video on it now and then.

Also don't leave a still image on screen for a prolonged period of time or turn off at the wall.

        • @Ryballs: awesome! Thanks very much! I reckon I'll have to take the plunge at this price!

    • +3

      Update:

I have been running Just Cause 3 @ 4K 60Hz from my PC on all medium graphical settings from my GTX1080.

Response time is excellent. Way quicker than my UH770T.
      HDR deep colour is set: 4:4:4 @ 8 Bits therefore it is a 8bit panel + 2 bit dithering = HDR 8 + 2 = HDR10 (Not native HDR10)
A little dark on HDR hence set the OLED lights to 100 (out of 100) looks more brighter.

      The Blacks are absolutely fantastic!
A little dark in tunnels though.

I am new to this TV so I might research and tweak it a little more to get it right for me.

Edit: Do I love this TV and is it worth the money? Kn-oath!

      Cheers

      • Yeh response time is excellent upgrading from a Sony x85c Android tv.

Not even a placebo affect but DJ max respect(music game) feels so much easier and responsive when pressing a button, the Sony didn't lag but it always felt abit off.

I've only spent like 5 mins on it cause I was tired and fell asleep but I hope to fiddle with it more tonight, so far the magic wand pisses me off when setting it up.

I'm constantly paranoid with burn in though since all my games have some sort of HUDS.

        • Trust me, if you had the Sony X93E it would have been a different story!
Although I love the OLED, but the X93E (55KDX9300E) gives the LG a good run for its money!

The X83C is 2015 model and a mid-tier level TV.
So not really an equal comparison.

The Holy Grail for my office is the 49" X9000E but very hard to get (only directly from Sony at this stage) and nearly $2K atm.

          Cheers

I have this TV, very beautiful ! Love it!!!

  • Purchased the 65 inch C7 today through JB, who price matched the Myer offer. Does anyone have any recommendations for a compatible soundbar?

    • Doesn't the c7 have better speakers?

  • Anyone know if goodguys do the same thing jb does and throws in the extra 1 year warranty?

    • +1

Nah but if you buy it with your Amex you will get extra warranty

  • I went to the store and told them to match this price on OZBargin, showed them this on my phone. And they matched the price.

  • (profanity) I didn't need a new tv XD

  • +1

Scored the OLED today on eBay. Click n Collect, was ready to collect in about 1hr. Will pickup tomorrow!

    Many thanks to OP +1'd

    • Not a problem, enjoy your new TV :)

  • +1
    • Listed as click and collect only

  • Looks like they had a bonanza. 490+ sold in a day.

    *Hi Valued Customer,

Your LG 55" OLED Smart TV will be available after January 8, 2018.

The Good Guys were overwhelmed with the number of EBay orders for this product, but we have confirmed with the manufacturer that all orders placed on December 26th will be fulfilled.

In order for the LG TV stock to reach all our stores amongst the holidays, we need your patience on the fulfilment of your order. You will be contacted by email, or the store directly, when your TV is either ready for collection, or dispatched for delivery. We anticipate all TVs to be with customers by mid-January. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Happy New Year. The Good Guys
    *

    • I was worried about this since click collect wasn't available on ebay so I went with the good guys website in the morning.

JB sucks too, wouldn't even budge on the price when showing the good guys website even though they're owned by the same company. It's probably because they know it'll sell either way.

    • +1

I got this email too, after I receive d the email saying it was available to collect. Called the store who confirmed it’s still available.

    • I got this email as well. Also received a phone call confirming no stock. They offered a full refund.

    • +3

I got that email while at the front counter giving them my details to pick up my online order, and they said it was probably just sent out to everybody and that she knows my tv is still back there because she finalized the order earlier. Got the paperwork, went to the pickup out the back, got the tv just fine. Anyone that got that email should still go to the store and try get the tv.

    • +1

I received the email after earlier getting a call from the store to say it would be two weeks.

Received another call today, delivery is scheduled for tomorrow!

      • I got mine too after calling them. Good Guys are terrible with customer service and slowww AF (I prefer Bing Lee).

But LOVING IT now :) Even the cricket looks epic, let alone HDR games and videos :O

  • +1

My good ol' Panasonic V series TV is still kicking. Hows these new LG OLED's compare to that for movies and blu rays at night?

    • Amazing night viewing, especially lights off. Blacks are epicccccc

  • Loving the LG OLED! Planet Earth II looks amazing.
Fast forward to the lava scene with red and black scenery and thank yourself for buying an OLED :)
