Just did a Google Translate and it came up as WatchNerd Cam Shows live from Vladivostok?

        • @Scab: Sorry, it's meant to be from Dnepropetrovsk. For OzBargain Premium Members, obviously.

Why don't we ever see those random retail watch stores comment on deals like this?

When is Xiaomi going to market watches?

    • +1

      That does seem inevitable.

    • +5

I've heard they're releasing one in collaboration with WatchNerd, it's going to be called Mi Nerd.

      • +3

I hope Xiaomi never collaborates with you.

        'Mi Scab'… ughhh

        • +2

I wonder what the watch face would look like.

  • +3

Thanks mate. Finally pulled the pin. Got the black one.

  • 5 Year Australian Warranty from Citizen
What happen if im not in Australia?

    • +1

All Citizen Eco-Drive watches have a 5 year local and a 1 year International warranty. Thanks

Apologies in advance for asking a dumb question, but if I were to compare Seiko 5 Sports Automatic SNZG15K1 against Citizen Eco Drive AW5000-24E, would I be able to pick a clear winner? Both of the watches will cost ~$119.00. :)

    • +5

It's not about winning. Don't buy a watch because of people's choice, buy it because it's your choice. Go with your heart, pick the one you fancy and curate your style over time.

      • +2

        Spot on sky blue.

      • +2

        Thanks mate. :)

    • +3

You can't really compare them as the Seiko is an automatic & the Citizen is a quartz eco-drive.
They are both great watches, but you need to figure out what you want. The main reason some people don't like automatic watches is if you don't wear it everyday it will stop.

The only problem I have with the Seiko is the word SPORTS on the dial. I can deal with it on my $5.15 Skmei 1134, but not on a Seiko classic.

      Seiko SNZG15K1 US$94.71 - $9.47 = $85.24 shipped (approx AU$109.50) Use Code PUNCH

        Thanks mate. :)

Your question is not dumb and Member sky blu's reply is indeed valid. I'm assuming you are comparing the watches from a logical viewpoint in a quest for value. The Eco-Drive has a solar battery and some people have reported 20+ years' use. I recently posted a deal for Q&Q watches with solar batteries for $28.50 each. It is impossible to buy a new Seiko Automatic for anywhere near that price and as you know ~$119 is a good deal. Automatics usually attract a premium price anyway, so I favour the Seiko in terms of value. Bear in mind the Automatic will one day require servicing - maybe not for 15 years - and that cost typically exceeds today's price.

Creation Watches have a 10% off code CHRISTMAS.

        Thanks mate. :)

        • +1

When you unbox it come back and tell us about it.

        • +1

@PJC: for sure mate! Creation Watches just notified me that the product has been shipped. Really psyched for the new watch! :)

        • +2

          @PJC:
Just got the delivery! I am speechless! Note that this is quite a big upgrade for me in terms of watches, and I won't deny that I'm not tempted to keep on exploring more!

Excellent feel and look and quite comfortable to wear. Thanks again guys! :)

        • +1

@sabbirm: Good news! Now start seeking your next watch bargain.

  • +3

No more watches……until next year :)

    • +4

These won't get delivered until next year, so you're all good.

      • +2

haha good point! present to future self. I think I am all good for watches now. All I need is a seiko samurai and the citizen satellite and I am good…

        • +1

By the power vested in - ah, OK I'll wait.

        • @PJC: please do! It's a shame that the PUNCH code is expired I was going to ask Starbuy rep if they could list the satellite on ebay. At $500 I will bite..just saying..in case someone is listening…

        • @giovannip: Expired? Before 9th January? Which model(s) are you seeking?

        • +1

@PJC: yup says expired and also no longer on ebay home page. I was referring to the citizen CC3005-51E and also the Seiko SRPB53K. But I need to hold off for a little while.

  • +1

Hey guys, I'm tempting to get a watch as this will be my first one at 20 yo. How do I go about choosing one?

    • +1

Get an idea of what you like and dislike by browsing an online store like this. I suggest that one because it has fashion brands, popular brands like Seiko and Citizen, and a good range of high-end luxury brands. Decide your range of preferences regarding case size, automatic/solar/quartz, chronograph/dress/sporty, minimalist/normal/busy, Japanese/Swiss Made/German/Chinese, metal/leather/silicon/NATO strap, colours etc. With a clearer idea of your requirements and budget, start seeking a good deal and you can always return here for advice.

      • There are a lot of variables after looking on the link. Is there a guide as to how well a certain case size or style fits me? Or just go by your feeling? Cheers

        • +1

Try some watches in a physical shop and you will soon learn what size range suits you.

    • +1

If PJC's advice is a lot to take in, allow me to help:

Start with this one and you'd be rising in the ranks on Ozbargain. Trust me, you can't go wrong with that. Make sure to disclose the fact that you've never had a watch before the age of 20 when people ask though.

Warning: it is a chick magnet so wearing at weekends only is advisable.

      • Good point because unfortunately Jomashop don't sell those although they stock Breitling, Rolex and TAG Heuer.

      • +1

I might be blind but such accoutrement is not so under-performing at such price. I've ordered one.

        • +1

Admit it, you ordered because I said it has chick magnet ability.

        • +2

@sky blu: You got me right from the get go. Mind if I ask why the code isnt working?

        • +1

@hieucd97: Probably expired. That post has been over a month. I guess you might have to wait til next year to start wearing a watch.

        • Please assure us you did not pay full price.

  • +1

Thank you, I ordered a beige for travelling and swimming
