  • gray, not local

    • Cannot claim TRS? Does kigan issue tax invoice? Sorry, i never purchase from kogan before.

      • no, no

    • Gray is not local either.

  • +5

    Nice phone.

  • -4

S9 is right around the corner..

    • And you wont be able to get it anywhere near this price for a few months…..

    • +11

Nothing to do with Note 8.

      • +1

Release of Galaxy S9 will further reduce the prices for Note 8

        • +9

Then you might as well wait for the Note 9.. and then the S10 will be coming out. Then Note 10 will come out… it never ends!

  • There is no way to use Samsung pay is there? I think i am still hanging for a local one

    • Kogan say's it is an international model so i'm not too sure, You can use Android pay as always, but only works with a few banks.

    • +7

Just flash the Aussie stock firmware and it'll become just like local stock, android and Samsung pay will then work.

      • Is there Aussie firmware for the dual sim?

        • +1

The Aussie firmware works with the dual sim model. You can just flash it and it can detect the dual sim module.

  • +5

this has got to be one of the most amazing phones ever… lol

You won't know until you try it, different league to mate 10, v30 etc.

    • How about Mate 10 Pro?

      • Mate 10 pro is exactly the same as vanilla, except lower res screen and waterproofing.

  • Can we use kogan giftcard at 15% discount awhile back to pay for this?

    • Not on ebay.

      • Dang.. i got my hopes up

  • is the duel sim version worse than AU Stock ? besides the warranty

    • -5

You dont get to use Samsung pay. Alternatively you can use android pay.

      • +2

Wrong, you can flash the Aussie firmware on it and all will work.

    • +4

I find the dual Sim is best, there are mobile plan deals all the time. Keep my original in one Sim and ozbargain Sims on the 2nd slot. You'll save heaps of $$$.

      • +1

Never had a dual sim phone before here.. How does it actually work?

You can actually use 2 numbers in parallel / simultaneously? Or you can only use one at a time and to switch have to reboot?

I guess I want to know how you can save heaps of $$$ by having dual sim phone as u said above

        • +6

You can use both sims at once for calls/txts, and nominate the other for data. This Note8 has dual sim 3G/4G, so both can do calls and data, your choice for data.

Can save lot's by porting your usual number over to cheap unlimited deals, and/or activate cheap data sim with other burner sims and throw away when used up, activate new sim deal and there you go again.

Now your what we here call a sim slut.

        • +1

          @ozhunter68:
Yup this one. I have my original prepaid SIM on slot one with $0 balance so people can still call me on my original#. Purchased a 6month Sim with amaysim for 20 something bucks total with 2gb/month and free calls and text and is in my 2nd Sim slot.

Most people pay average $50/month on mobile plans, I pay $50/year :)

        • @FeZZa21:

Does the second sim take up the space where the MicroSD card would be?

        • +2

          @Saiya:
Yes 2nd Sim you have to choose either Sim or sdcard

    • I heard Kogan has 1 year local warranty, not sure if it's sure.

Another question is, if we flash the Aussie firmware to get Samsung pay, does the local warranty (if it has) still work?

    • exynos 8895 Is faster than SD835

  • +9

The phone can always be flashed with the AU firmware to enable Samsung or Android Pay and still retain use of the dual SIM functionality. Did this with my previous gray market S7 and had no problems after flashing.

    • Is there a tutorial on how to do this properly, not sure if I should do it on my Note 8 that I bought from amaysim recently.

    • Android Pay works without flashing local firmware. I am typing this on a grey imported Note 8 that I use Android Pay on every day. No mods.

      Samsung Pay requires local firmware.

    • I don’t think you can flash Aussie firmware on the Note8 if the grey HK import uses a different processor.

    • +1

This is a common occurencr with all electronic devices.

Happened to my iPad air 2 just few months back. Got a new one from them with fresh warranty.

  • damn, i am so confused now. I have 1050$ JB HIFI giftcard bought them a week ago thought that will be another note 8 black friday deal. any idea that will be cheap note 8 as cheap as last black friday night deal guys? or should i just go for this deal while ebay offering 10% off hahhhhhh.

    • +1

How much do you value warranty ?

  • I am guessing that the price in HK has come down hence the price reduction @ Kogan, I wonder how long it will take to trickle down the correct channel's to Australian stock

    • Once S9 launches

  • For goodness sake, why don't they offer free shipping like their ebay listing on Kogan site.

    • +1

      It’s free shipping with shipster?

      • Shipping over $25 is not covered. Shpping cost for the 64gb is $49

        • Kogan shipping is such a rip off some times

  • +2

Very good price. Tempted to get rid of my iPhone 6 and jump ship to Android.

    • +10

Just do it. We welcome you with open arms.

    • +5

Do it mate, join the Dark side

      • +2

IPhone is the dark side, mate.

  • Is the dual sim 4g/3g?

    • yup it is

      • Thx. 2nd sim must be shared slot with SD card..

  • I can't find the model number anywhere on the Kogan listing e.g n9500xxx? Be careful when flashing make sure you have the right software for your phone

  • +6

Be careful as I have purchased the S8 through Kogan as a Christmas present for my son and it is region locked. Box was marked as European sim only but advertised as International model and will work in Oz, 4 days later still no joy from Kogan with getting a sim unlock code.

    • Euro Samsungs are region locked, I think you need to make a call from them in Europe to unlock.

Poor form from Kogan, but I don't expect much service from them, after I had reps insult me for suggesting they sent me the wrong size sim card.

  • For the people needing a way to unlock a Euro
