      • Mind you, they only started offering these discounts in the last 5 years or so. There's a sense of entitlement for sure.

OMG, I am finally targeted! After like 7+ targeted offers from Ozbargain, I AM CHOSEN! But I have nothing to buy.

  • Interesting…
No email for me, and doesn't appear on my homepage/banner but code still worked on a fireplace I just purchased

  • iPhone X 64gb for $1349.10 after the coupon for anyone who wants it.

This seller have six fb over the past 12 months. High risk of being scammed.

      • Hey mate could you elaborate on what you meant by this as the ebay seller appears to have 100% positive rating?

        • This seller have nine listings for high demand and high value items. That with only six fb makes this a high risk seller.

        • @whooah1979: okay, thanks. However, it's not really a risk when you consider the fact that eBay favours buyers so much over sellers, if anything does go wrong you can easily get a refund. Cheers.

        • @whooah1979:

That seller is the alt account for cool gadget solutions. A highly reputable seller, no issue there, the alt account probably pays no fees because it has different individual listings.

        • @merajaan:
I cannot remember exactly but I think if the user has under 50 feedback then getting your full amount of money back is unlikely. I once purchased a phone from an eBay seller years ago and had to dispute it through PayPal because the item did not arrive and the seller would not return my emails. PayPal ended up trying to resolve the issue and said they would refund me half of the money I paid and try to recoup the rest for me but cannot guarantee anything. They never ended up getting the money from the seller and they disappeared. However PayPal sent me an email in error stating that they have refunded me the entire amount when they indeed had not (they only refunded me the 50%). So with that email they responded and said they sent it in error but because they sent it they will refund me the 100%. I was lucky they sent the email in error because if they didn't I would have only received 50% of the money back.

        • getting your money back from ebay is far from easy

        • +2

@petry: Disagree - I've had to make a couple of claims in the past few months, from low FB sellers too, and have had no issues. One seller flat out refused to allow a return, despite their "as new, perfect condition" item arriving with scratches and marks straight out of the box, and eBay stepped in, issued me the return details, and the seller was forced to take it back. Funds were back in PayPal the day after tracking said the return was delivered.
The trick with dealing with eBay is to use their online chat - their CS people are actually pretty good at moving things along for you when you're enquiring about it.

        • Fine you disagree. My experience was shit. Ebay staff weren't helpful took their sweet time to respond, and I think the more they are paid by sellers the less chance a punter has got.

  • Thanks been targeted for once. Gonna buy the Bose QC35ii Headphones

  • Worked for me but no email received. Thanks OP, might grab something.

Is this promotion really targeted? It shows up on the homepage banner..

    • +4

I too thought so, but you/we checked it while logged in to the ebay account. If you log out then the deal doesn't show up.

  • Oops. Just shopped $2.36 yesterday. Lost 24 cent. Could have added that to today’s order over $75.

  • Any 15" laptop recommendations? Cheers

    • State your budget.

    • What will the laptop be used for?

Do many people receive these targetted offers from eBay? I think I have received 1 out of maybe 15 I've seen in past couple years.

    • +1

Create 5 more accounts… They only target usually the inactive accounts.

  • Got it from 2 out of my 6 accounts. Created them specifically for targeted offers like this. The less you log in/ search the better your chances of scoring the targeted offers. As some have already mentioned it’s based on how active your account is

    • So… more active users get it?

  • didn't work for me. Looking to buy the Samsung S7 from TGG with a 10% code, missed out last time.
Looks like that's the wrong code. Please double-check and try again.

  • If I paint a giant bullseye on my ass, think ebay will start targeting me?

  • Laptop recommendations?
    Budget upto $800
Just for use at home for web browsing, YouTube, Netflix and word.

Want one thats good value and will last.

    Thanx

  • Well I'll be, i actually got the code and I've been spending like a mad-man of late. MUST RESIST :D Although only thing I'm after is a bunch of cheap fast chargers and USB-C cables for my phone so I can have a few around the place.

  • Didn't get it across 2 accounts. Tried code anyway and it didn't work :(

  • Didnt work on mine or wifeys. Zzz

  • I got it.. yay!

  • Damn missed out again. Never got these targeted code. Time to create a new account I guess…

  • Omg I have been targeted on Ebay this is unreal. I use my account waay too much for this to regularly happen.

  • Nothing to rave about with a 10% sitewide. Only couple of weeks ago, they regularly ran the 20% sitewide.

    • They did? I must have missed it.

I've only seen 20% off selected stores, not site wide.

    • Sounds like you're referring to the 20% off selected sellers, not site wide, a big difference.

    • 20% off you are referring to over the last few weeks has been for selected stores and categories. Not site wide like this one.

  • Thanks OP, both of my ebay accounts got targeted, one of them is super active.

    • Neither of mine and my wife's did

  • Bought a bike at rebel sport - thanks

  • 1st time i'm targeted ! Don't know what to get though

  • never targeted.

  • +1

I didn't get the code, but I contacted them regarding the code didn't work.

They said it was only for people who got the email.

Told them I was on the checkout page and to cancel the order then, unless they could apply the code for me. They generated a code for me to use which was just under 10%.

  • Damn - Not Targeted …….

  • Here's a tip, create multiple accounts, seems eBay loves to target inactive accounts.

  • Hey Guys

I'm trying to buy something in US dollars with my 28 degrees card via paypal. Will they charge me currency conversion or do the transaction in US dollars. I have two amounts on the checkout window. The US dollars amount is shown on the right near the confirm and pay button but on the left hand side it shows the exchange rate and what the amount would be in AU dollars. I have set my paypal account to US dollars as the default currency so really want to know as it is a difference of a little over 20 dollars that I would rather not pay.

    • Okay so I worked it out if others are interested. Near where it quotes what the coversion rate is, that is a clickable hyperlink and you then have the option to review the currency options and I changed it from let paypal do the conversion to let my card provider do the conversion.

      • Yes you should pay in US dollars as the 28 degree card conversion is much better than paypal

  • The code worked for me on a 4-star energy-rated Electrolux EWF12753 7.5kg Front Load Washer from The Good Guys, free Click & Collect. Listed price: $645, Discount after applying "NEW10": $64.50, Final price: $580.50.
