      Seeking help on the Redmi Note 4X. I bought one from the previous deal but it does not have Australia in the region selection. Hence when sending / receiving SMS, the “0” in front of the Aussie mobile number drops out resulting in my carrier charging me international SMS rates and/or SMS not being received by the party at the other end too. Any one found a solution to this *including selecting the region? Thanks in advance.

          Did you try using an older version of the mi home app? I installed the latest version and couldn't use (only for mainland China error), so I uninstalled and installed v4.0.11 and now it works ok. I am planning to try fanghacks as well, but haven't done that yet.

          I have a Dafang I got a couple of months ago. Tried fanghacks a week or two ago, I think it uses a slightly later firmware than I had.
          Using MiHome 5.0.21 which was working fine, after flashing fanghacks modified version, camera dropped off the MiHome app altogether (not just greyed out offline).

          Fanghacks not too polished yet (ie hi quality rtsp wasn't working yet, not sure if that's changed) but haven't tried to set up camera again in MiHome.
          Hopefully not going to be a problem, though the older firmware is available on the repository as a last resort I guess.

          (Just to update, thought I'd give it a shot adding camera back to MiHome and worked ok. Using modded firmware v5.5.1.200 (removing SD card boots normal Dafang software) so not sure what's different with the new cameras.)

          I haven't tried fanghacks yet, my understanding is that the camera doesn't work with the Mi Home app when you do use it. Not a big issue for me, as once I get the RTSP stream working I'll aim to use it with Zoneminder or Shinobi.

    Excellent price for the Xiaofang. Received one a few days back, however there seems to be a problem in connecting this successfully through the Mi Home app as discussed here. Also have one purchased earlier last year which works perfectly with the app, however the newer Xiaofang keeps on giving a 'Regional Restriction' message like this one even after setting the location to mainland China. Hopefully someone has a solution to this other than trying fang hacks?

      Yep, I receive my CREE LED Pen-shape Highlight Mini Torch the other day and am very impressed. Simple, lightweight. No triple-function, triple-press button to strobe your night vision out of existence, which is a big positive; just simply turns on and off. The front seems to twist, but that is just part of the assembly. It does not change the beam angle. Can't expect more for a torch at this price. Surprising brightness for one AAA battery. Good value for money.

    Dont bother with the Original Meizu EP51 Bluetooth HiFi Sports Earbuds……I think they forgot to include a base speaker. I was shocked at how tinny these were i.e. like zero base and really low volume, if turned up a lot of distortion. Shocking headphones and useless (in my opionion). Either that or I receive a faulty pair. Anyone else have a pair that can confirm? Note, i am comparing to cheapie low end earbuds (under $20) and these are by far the worst and for the bin.

      Surprisingly bright ~100 lumens on fresh batteries (just eyeballing against properly specced flashlights)

      Its about as bright as a single AAA torch can get, I doubt anyone has been disappointed, especially for $1

      Very bright for a 1xAAA Torch. I have found they get kind of warm when on for about 5 minutes. Haven't tested any more than that.

          @h2g2: damn that works out to be 20AUD cheaper than when i got it haha. I'm fortunate (unfortunate?) to have a strangely LONG room so I didn't need to measure how far it was or adjust my room at all to fill up my wall with the projector, eye balling it I would say about 1.5 queen size beds? The speakers are very mediocre, I have mine linked to a cheap sound bar (and also a Mi Box coincidentally). They're louder than the noisiness of the projector if that helps? haha

          i had the same issue. Lodged a complaint and got offered US$11.50 as a refund and to keep the device. Brings it down to $6 or so.
