        • @Symbiotic:

Well, this proves they are lying about the phones actually being shipped.

Let the neg storm commence people.

        • @PainToad: To be fair it's not out of the acceptable time for delivery and I've had parcels not update shipping information on AusPost until they've reached Australia. I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt and hope something happens this week. Not holding my breath though.

        • @Yuri Lowell: The deal was on the 6th, and the only time advised on the website at the time of purchase was 5-8 business days. The time period has been well and truly exceeded.

        • @Cubist: It has been 7 business days since they were supposedly shipped. Still within reasonable time but considering there are no updates on the tracking it's fairly obvious that they haven't been shipped. I think I'm gonna have to get a refund which is really annoying because I really wanted this phone.

  • +2

I purchased on the 10th and claimed to have shipped on the 15th. Tracking still showing as 'pending' here too.

  • +4

So it's been five business days since the device supposedly shipped and tracking hasn't updated yet. 5-8 business days is wed or thurs at the latest for delivery with their direct line shipping. I don't anticipate seeing my phone any time this Week.Delivered fast apparently means a month or more to geekbuying.

  • I bought two phones from them and one was supposedly shipped on the 15/01/2018.

The tracking number has no updates and they haven't responded to my email.

    Seems suss to me.

  • Well just arrived home to find a phone shaped package at my front door (excitment building and almost forgot to lock my car door) and another slim package in my mail box. Too light to be a phone. It was actually the phone case and screen protector I ordered for the A1 right after I bought the phone! Both were free shipping from Zhejiang China.

Thought I'd share this was it was kind of amusing.

This is absolutely disgraceful from Geek and certain associates who still defend them.

    • I have tried my best to help out as much as I can with my very limited power. What would you like me to do?

      • Stop defending them and not support them further?

        • +2

Have I not been reasonable? Allowing the advertised shipping to happen to see if anything actually happens?

        • +1

          @Clear:

But the processing time has already been broken. I get it's not your fault but :)

      • @Clear: Shouldn't you push Geekbuying to refund some amount for the inconvenience if you want to continue to be associated with them and still want to keep hearts of customers who trusted you?

        • +4

Now that's something I hadn't thought about and something I can definitely push. Thank you.

To be perfectly honest the negging of me is a real turn off. Sends the message that I shouldn't even bother trying to help.

        • @Clear: Also, it makes sense because all your tries and hard-work to get expedited shipping timely done don't seems to have succeeded :-(.

Please be wary though as a lot of Chinese sellers prefer to give such compensatory refund in form of 'points' which have many usage limitations and are simply not acceptable to the buyers who have gone through inconvenience of this sort. Best to get real money refunded directly into the bank/PayPal/card account.

Try not to be associated with sellers whose service you can't trust yourself even as an associate. Just a word of wisdom, mate. Cheers.

        • +1

@Clear: It's not negging for you personally, mate. It's for the seller and its seemingly false promise. You just happen to represent them, unfortunately. It could be someone else, but in this case it's you. Do you expect customers to praise the service if not neg?

Well, unfortunately phone is a product which is an important necessity these days. I am sure many of those who ordered might have either lost their previous phone or got some other issues with it. They NEED the new phone timely, there's no exaggeration - phone is life. All they did was just trusted the seller. I believe everyone understands your situation, but what do you expect in this case?

        • @Clear: Some of us do appreciate the effort you've put in Clear. I'm trying to be reasonable with the shipping time, it is annoying but I know there's only so much you can do. Hopefully this all gets resolved soon.

        • @Clear:

Now that's something I hadn't thought about and something I can definitely push. Thank you.

Any update on partial refund for the inconvenience? I thought you were going to push it as you represent the seller. Just hoping for a positive update.

        • @Clear:

Is Geekbuying providing any partial refund for the huge inconvenience to the buyers finally, @Clear?

  • +1

Very disappointing, I will open a PayPal dispute in the coming days as it appears these phones have not been shipped nor does it look like it will be shipped any time soon.

Very misleading when it comes to fast shipping to AU on Geekbuying behalf

  • +1

i have now raised a PayPal dispute and am awaiting a Geek Buying response. Tracking number stills shows no updates…in really don't think the items have been shipped.

  • So just for the benefit of others this is my story:
12/01 - Ordered the phone and a case from Geekbuying
    14/01 - Case got dispatched
18/01 - Trying to get some info after reading the issues here i found out that there was no stock and that was holding up dispatching but they were expecting more stock within the week.
So i asked for a refund as it was advertised that there was stock when i purchased
I must say though that they were very helpful and accomodation.
    19/01 - Refund recieved
    19/01 - Purchased from DWI(priority shipping)
22/01 - Phone was delivered to me :-)
23/01 - Still waiting for the case to even reach aus from geekbuying

    • Out of curiosity was your phone from Geekbuying marked as “shipped”?

      • no, it was marked as Processing.

  • For those who have their tracking numbers not updated, including those who have disputes/refunds can you please PM me your order number? I've got hold of someone at Geek who will investigate.

    Thanks!

    • Just sent you a DM.

    • Hi Clear :)

      I've sent you a PM.

    • Hi @Clear. I have sent you a PM. Thanks for following up. Cheers

    • Thanks for those who have provided order numbers/tracking numbers. A small development is that those tracking numbers should work with Ubi (Auspost's courier in China/HK) at https://track.aftership.com.

I'm investigating further, but my personal suspicion is that Auspost's tracking doesn't actually kick in until Ubi hand over the packages.

      • Hi @Clear. I put my tracking number in but it is still listed as "pending" :-(

        • Hmm that's the first one that hasn't worked. I got PM'd 4 others which have worked.

        • @Clear: ignore my post mate. I selected auspost and nothing appeared. Once I selected Ubi it picked it up. Cheers

      • I've got tracking via Ubi. It says shipment received Hong Kong today at 3pm. Maybe they just got shipped today? If so that's good news.

        • +1

Yeah I'm trying to work out the specifics. Australia Direct is a relatively new shipping method for Geek. It seems that they need to provide this website for tracking instead of Auspost.

    • Pm'd you!

  • +2

I'm in the same boat as everyone else, useless tracking number. The case i ordered from GB already arrived last week (free shipping too).

If it doesn't arrive by this week, ill ask for a refund. Also i will neg every geekbuying deal in the future and link back to this thread.

    • Do you mind giving me your order number please?

  • I maintain my neg due to all the BS.

But big thanks Clear. You should try associating with a different seller. You're to good for this mob.

  • Code no longer works

  • Australia Post tracking has now updated. Thanks for your assistance Clear.

    • +2

Makes me wonder if Geekbuying actually had stock. I feel like they are just dropshipping. It doesn't take over a week to process an order.

      • All Chinese 'seller' websites operate like this. They don't actually have any stock, they dropship everything.

        • Cancelled my Geekbuying order and got a refund. Ordered late on Monday from the eBay seller @widsomtooth recommended with a 1 year AU warranty. $285 each with the 5% discount code. Got a 10% site wide eBay discount code today, but that’s life haha. 2 Xiaomi Mi A1 phones are due to arrive tomorrow via DHL. They’re due so quickly I’ve had to reschedule the shipping on the DHL website to come to my work place on Monday because I’m away. They’re coming from Hong Kong too.

$11 more for a 1 year warranty, solid communication and the actual delivery times that were advertised.

        • @Symbiotic:

          link?

        • @Symbiotic:

I've heard bad things about 7272wil from Whirlpool.

          Also the listing states:
"All phones will be opened for inspection before sending out to ensure buyer will receive a working phone and in English as default language."

        • @Rakddon:

          “thanks for the link”

Fair enough. Don’t buy a phone from them then…

I’m sure Geekbuying will shine if there is any kind of warranty related issue.

        • @Symbiotic:

opened for inspection before sending out to ensure buyer will receive a working phone

If that means they can rule out screens with dead pixels then I am all for it. I’d much rather that than find dead pixels or dust under the panel and need to return the phone.

      • My “shipped” order (marked shipped on 15 Jan and “tracking” provided) was cancelled on Monday 22 Jan and refunded 23 Jan. I don’t think they had stock.

  • Ordered on 1/7/2018
They say it was shipped 1/15/2018
Tracking at https://track.aftership.com/ubi-logistics/ says it was received in Hong Kong on the 1/23/2018
Tracking at https://track.aftership.com/australia-post/ says shipping information was received on the 1/24/2018

  • -4

In addition to the lies regarding shipping timeframes and stock availability, I've also found that they inserted notifications in my chrome browser.

    • +4

Websites can't force notifications. Chrome will actually prompt you if you want to allow or deny notifications. You can disable it, see here:

      https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/3220216?co=GENIE.Pl…

      • @Clear: Been 7 days to your comment above and a lot of people have still not received their phones, mate. Did you manage to escalate the issues? What was the response from Geekbuying?

        • Their tracking is working and people are receiving their orders. They can use the tracking website I provided if they want more detail than Auspost.

        • @Clear: Any update on the partial refund from the seller for huge inconvenience caused by the prolonged delay, mate? Still awaiting positive info from your side in that regard. This will be of great help even if it doesn't compensate fully for the pain. Appreciate it.

        • +1

@virhlpool: That's still a WIP that I'm hoping to have an answer by the end of this week.

        • @Clear: It would be great. Thanks!

        • @Clear: It's been 8 days since, mate. Any progress on this? I guess you were to hear from them by the end of the last week. Cheers.

  • Anyone know what this means?
Curse these geek buying twits, I would have spelt that with a F, but this is a family platform. Grumble, rant, fignitz.

Try this for more accurate tracking at the moment: https://www.17track.net/en

It means the parcel hasn't entered the AusPost network yet. Should be updated when it arrives in Australia. It's a long weekend so nothing will happen until Monday at the minimum.

      • Thanks Yuri!

Just kind of frustrating when companies say one thing and do another. 9 business days since this, and it's not even in the country yet! Seems like they just flagged it as sent so I didn't take the money back off the table.

Your order#, has been sent out and please check with the following shipping information:

Date Courier Name Tracking Number Estimated Delivery Time Remark
01-15-2018 Australia Direct Line order# 5-8 Business Days

  • +1

Phone has finally moved through to Australia.
My latest is it being processed in a transport hub near me.
Delivery should be tomorrow or Wednesday.

    • +1

Same with mine. Arrived in Sydney today. Should arrive in the next couple of days.

  • Cancelled my Geekbuying order last week. Ordered 2 Xiaomi Mi A1 64gb phones from eBay 7272wil (with a 1 year AU warranty) as per @wisdomtooth's recommendation. Ordered them on Monday 22/01 at 4pm and the phones were on track for delivery Thursday 25/01, but I was away. Received the phones a few hours ago (unopened in shrink wrapping).

Very impressed so far. I hope the Geekbuying phones start to show up soon for those still waiting on their orders. It has been 3 full weeks for a lot of the orders placed with Geekbuying.

For those still in the market I'd recommend spending $11 more to get the AU warranty and fast shipping.

  • +1

Ordered from Geekbuying 15/1. Still waiting. Tracking hasn't updated in Australia yet. I tried to cancel my order but they never replied. Also put in a Paypal dispute.

Ordered from 7272wil on 23/1. Arrived today to rural QLD. Shrink wrapped and unopened. Phone works great, very impressed.

  • So my order from the 8th of January is due to be delivered tomorrow. Finally!!

    • Anyone else's updated? I purchased on the 7th. Seems to have been some movement on the 23/24th but nothing since then. Three weeks since my initial order :-(.

      • The Auspost tracking of mine says 'Shipping information received' on the 24th. It updated tonight to being in Adelaide, ready for delivery tomorrow.

        • +2

I ordered on the 6th of Jan and got mine today! I'm in Melbourne, so technically came two days after the max. 15 business days it promised (processing & direct shipping) :P

        • @peanutbutterface: Was your phone sealed/shrink wrapped?

        • +1

          @Yuri Lowell: Yep! Fully sealed

  • +1

Horrible experience with GeekBuying.com, will never do business with them again:

Order placed on 8th January 2018
Order shipped on 15 January 2018
Shipping information received by Australia Post 24 January 2018
    It is 30th January 2018, still waiting…..
It was suppose to be delivered between 5 to 8 business days.

    Absolutely rubbish seller.

  • +2

Received mine yesterday. Happy with the product, but was absolutely baited into buying with this group over a different group, with a delivery time advertised that was misleading and not met.

Side note, spark came out of my wall plug when I used the region power adaptor, so I would not suggest using this. Could be my wiring through. YMMV.

  • +2

    Order placed 7th Jan
    Order shipped 15th Jan
    Order arrived 31st Jan

    Will not be recommending geekbuying

  • +1

So I checked my tracking today and it said the phone was ready for collection at a parcel locker in a Sydney suburb but I'm from the Gold Coast QLD. Thought it got delivered to the wrong address but it turns out the tracking given by the support team via email is different to the one on my order history and I didn't bother to cross check it. Had a look at my order history tracking and it's in the Gold Coast AusPost depot ready for delivery tomorrow. Thank god that's all it was, thought I'd have to wait 1-2 months to track it down from a Sydney suburb and get it redirected.

  • Anyone else's tracking still not updated? Mine hasn't updated since it was 'shipped' on the 23rd. Australia Post tracking still shows it as pending.

  • Update:

    Order placed on 16/01
    received on : 31/01

  • It sells 245$ with DHL shipping (3-7dys) from Coolicool. Better bargain IMO.
    https://goo.gl/Wwg7mA

    • Rookie mistake. That's in USD.

  • Just got this email -

"We are very sorry to inform you that your package has been returned to us for not passing the customs for unknown reason
(sometimes like improper declaration value on the package, or influenced by the same batch packages with built-in battery items).
Please kindly tell us whether you want us to resend your package or not.
As we know that you have been waiting for it for many days and maybe you want a refund. What's your opinion? "

  • +1

Over a month since ordering and Geekbuying advised me they have had the phone returned to them because I filed a Paypal dispute. They're refusing to refund me until I cancel the dispute. Avoid this company at all costs.

    • If they agreed to the dispute for a refund thaen everything will be sorted.

      • They told me they wont do this. They said I have to cancel the dispute or wait for the outcome from Paypal.

    • +2

Whatever you do, do not cancel that dispute. Wait for the resolution from Paypal. All they need to do is accept the dispute and the money refunds automatically. Dodgy mob.
