    Very nice.
Keep in mind that you can still get the Linksys EA9200 AC3200 for less than half that ($119) from Warehouse1. I ordered one the other day, and am very satisfied. Make sure to update the firmware.

    • Will the $119 model work with FTTN?

        Nothing works with FttN :)

Seriously, that's a router only. FttN/FttB requires a VDSL modem.

Linksys is releasing an Xbox optimised version of the wrt32x router in Feb that will retail around the $400 AUD price point locally.

    http://www.windowsgadgets.com/linksys-wrt32xb-router-to-take…

But this PC version will be given a firmware update in early 2018 to make it Xbox optimised, too. So this deal is a potential bargain for the Xbox gamers among us. I'm definitely interested at this price.

    Cheers OP.

    • No worries

  • This worth the upgrade from Asus RT-AC87U?

    • Why not upgrade to the new Asus line? They are mostly better. The linksys is still based on the 4 year old model.

  • Linksys Range Extenders any good?

    • Not too sure. But I ordered one of the Linksys AC1900 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi Range Extender for $118. It comes with a gigabit Ethernet port.

It's a really good price, the next best price on staticice for it was $205.

      • So that Ethernet port I can connect it to a wired network to extend the WiFi?

        • That's exactly what I plan to use it for. I'll be picking it up this arvo.

Whoops might have misinterpreted your post. I'll be using it to connect to my current WIFI network and then plug in a gigabit switch to the ethernet port to connect my foxtel and HTPC. Not sure if it can be used the other way around, you'd have to check the manual.

        • @Viper18:

Are you sure what you planned to do is not the other way around?

        • @superforever: Wireless bridge (or client bridge) mode vs access point mode. Viper18 wants the former, you want the latter. What you want can be achieved with an old Wi-Fi router. https://www.wikihow.com/Connect-One-Router-to-Another-to-Exp…

        • @alvian:

          OK
I am using one already, I am just wondering whether this one is designed for that or not.

  • hi guys, I know it's not designed for VDSL or (FTTN) but will this work in bridge mode with the Optus supplied gateway? would it be worth it? or would it just be increasing my ping because it has to go through another router?

  • Any recommendations for a decent modem/router? Linksys XAC1900?

Hi Folks, about to return two of these to Harvey Norman. There are global issues with this router, looks like Linksys are unable to cope with the issues, check out their forums. I've been trying to get support form them for 2 weeks but Linksys suggests refund is the best option. Right now there is no firmware to resolve most of the critical issues. I've also found additional problems with the prioritisation (which if turned on kills audio streaming) poor range, frequent dropping (which can be seen as forceful wifi disconnections in the logs) no open source firmware (despite it being advertise as open source ready) poor vpn client, and so many issues!! Don't buy it! Give it a year or two and maybe this unit will have stable firmware but this year is not the year to buy this unit.

    • Thank you, that is helpful.
