What does registered family and friends mean? You could only call some specific numbers?

Edit : for friends and family, you could register only 3 numbers and get unlimited calling on those numbers.. A way to restrict heavy usage if you have more then 3 members in India :)
But may not matter to most…

    • +2

You can add up to 5 international numbers (from any network) as your family/friends. And you are not charged when you call them.

      • Where do you see this written?

        CIS says;

Unlimited Family and Friends Calls to 3 registered Indian numbers – you may register a maximum of 3 numbers per SIM through MyLebara

        • +1

          My apologies, it's 3 not 5.

I think all 447 people have clicked on the link at the same time, I've been trying to buy it since I posted this deal but now it just keeps failing to load the page.

  • +1

I've been with Lebara for 6 months now and the network coverage has been great. I had so many issues with congestion and drop outs with Telstra, particularly on my train ride (Sydney North Shore line), Lebara (Vodafone) has been 10x times better!

    • Yes Vodafone is heaps better but sshhh, don't tell anyone! I've been with them for many years, since redbull mobile folded!

Edit: I've been with Lebara for many years!

      • Indeed Vodafone is good on the T1 (northern, north shore, Western) and in Sydney but it struggles up the coast from Berowra to Gosford just about.

  • Anyone know if they still charge flagfall on international calls? Couldn't find that info anywhere

  • https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-mobile-prepaid-voucher-co… Kogan has 365 days for 205.6 plus kogan always has gift card on sale. They all use vodaphone network.

    • Kogan is 6Gb per month

    • Yes kogan has much better deals, especially if you don't want international calls, but for those who call overseas, they're not an option!

    • Order some dominos pizza and (hopefully) you'll get a $30 off kogan voucher which you can put to this too! totally worth it.

    • Biggest benefit of Kogan is - i was on the 3GB 12 month plan and they increased us to 5GB and then 6GB even though they didn't have to. Pretty sure Lebara wont.

  • Finally got the Lebara site to work! Should be all good now…

  • Due to high demand of this product our website is having some issues at the moment. If you have any concerns please feel free to contact the Lebara care team on 1300126122 / 126122. You can also reach them via Live chat on www.lebara.com.au

    • Can these be 'stacked' on top of existing 1 year plans?

eg:I'm half way through a 1 year plan now & if I was to purchase another now, would it automatically add another 1 year to the existing?

      • yes, you can add 1 more year to your current long term plan.

  • Hasn't this been cheaper? Like 179? I am currently on lebara and love it I never worry about my cap now as I was on 1.5 gig a month before now I don't worry that much about the odd streaming here and there

    • +1

it was $180 when I got it last year - Great deal. best value if you need to call overseas.
Not sure if there's $5 international roam?

      • No.

International roaming services are not available.

      • Don't use the international calls much as there are data options which I use more often

  • Is this for existing customers only …

    • +1

This is for new and existing customers - both.

    • For new you can get the starter pack at the same price.

  • +2

Great offer but does anyone know why you cant use your available international credit to send international SMS messages?

More often than not I would prefer to send a quick sms message and not everyone of my contacts is on Viber or whats app.

I would have thought to have this option would be just as easy but you rarely find international sms included in these international plan deals?

  • Anyone on Lebara and can comment on their coverage within Melbourne CBD and surrounding suburbs?

    • +1

Live in the cbd and the speeds for data is fantastic, it's a great cheap plan

  • +1

my plan ends on late jan, should i wait for other deals or get this one?

  • So its $16.58 a month

    • +2

Well $16.81 if you annualised it to 365 days.

  • I couldnt find anything on International Roaming? Any ideas?

Also are the International calls to landline or also include mobile?

Here is the CIS that I referenced
    http://www.lebara.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Medium-P…

When you’re in Australia the following services are, unlimited and included:
    • calls to standard national fixed lines;
    • calls to standard national mobiles;
    • calls to 13, 1300 and 18 numbers;
    • calls to voicemail; and
    • standard national SMS and MMS
    • calls to Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand,
Singapore, South Korea, United Kingdom, United States
Unlimited Family and Friends Calls to 3 registered Indian numbers – you may register a
maximum of 3 numbers per SIM through MyLebara

    • As above.

International roaming services are not available.

      • Ah yes, on page 2 in the other information section. What about the international calls to landline or mobile too?

        • Rep confirmed both below.

  • +1

    Hi Rep,

Can you tell us when the offer expires ? and how long we have to activate the voucher ?

    Thanks

    • +1
I would like to know when the vouchers expires too!

    • The offer expires on 15 January. You have 60 days to activate. That should be enough to get through your last couple of cheap 30 Day OzBargain SIMs ;)

Why not buy two of these and stack them so you won't need to worry for two years!

      • +1

Make it a Large and I’d be keen. 5GB/month in 2 years will be laughable.

  • What's their policy on going over your monthly data.. do they stop data immediately or charge you extra.

I know Kogan requires you to top up or recharge by buying data packs to continue and do not just blindly charge you for using extra data.

This is very important and useful to prevent and hide bill shocks especially with surprise encounters.

    • Extra data only adds if you have credit, else to the data is cut.

      From CIS;

access to data will cease unless the customer has main balance (charged at $0.02/MB)

      • What's main balance? Can you add more balance after you buy the 365 day plan?

        • Think it’s a separate credit you apply so you can send International SMS etc. that are outside the inclusions of the Plan.

        • @Steptoe: cheers thanks for the awesome replies. Considering now this or Kogan for my next mobile plan.

  • The unlimited calls to selected countries —> any idea if it covers BOTH landlines and mobiles?

    • +1

      Yes. Sure does.

      • Can the sim/ plan be purchased now and activated/ port over on a later date?

        edit

        Answer already provided above. Thanks

  • What does calls to standard international numbers mean?

Does it mean I can call mobile and landline numbers in those 12 countries unlimited?

    • +3

It basically means you can call your friends in those countries at home or on mobile but not on their satellite phone. And any premium rate numbers are definitely out of the question so no psychic hotlines in New Zillund I'm afraid.

  • +1

"registered Family and Friends in India"
    lol
    Why?

  • Hi rep Lebara-SC, any chance of the 5G 180 days pack being on sale? Thank you

  • What is the last date of activation?

    • Above it said you have 60 days to activate.

  • "calls made, SMS sent and Data used when you are roaming onto a network other than the
Vodafone Digital Mobile Network, including Australian and international networks"

Does this mean if I am roaming on Optus network for example, I will need to pay for calls, SMS and data?

  • How does an existing customer use this?

    • Buy voucher/s

  • Great plan!

Lebara is all Vodafone (it's owned by VF in Australia).

The help desk is rather good, but as you're NOT dealing with a Telco trying hard to screw you with add ons, gouging fees and any number of ancillaries….you're unlikely to need a help desk much.

  • Hmm 39 value range pizzas or this.. hmm

  • Is this deal still available
