i guess this is the LTE version? as normally you can get them for like 300

    • +3

No you can't, they are $599 normally. Have been on sale reguarly lately though for 4-450. Overseas models were around $360.

Beware them run on tizen not android wear

Tizen is good and stable but limited in Apps.
I'm waiting for a model that is fully waterproof for this sort of price point, I have the S2 and it's been a good performer for a few years.
This is water resistant to 1.5 meters of static water (no swimming).

    • I think the Gear Sport is what you're after then? 5ATM water proofing and currently $449. You can get them from Kogan for $389.

      • Yes, I've looked at the Sport but I dont like the style as much as the Frontier.
I'm hoping the next model Frontier will be 5ATM… I assume a new model will come this year sometime.

      • Kogan being the international version though. Assume same warranty issues through Samsung would apply.

tizen or android or ios - the fact is that all the watches have limit memory capacity. I used the LG Urbane then now S3. To a point, I have to decide which apps I prefer over others. We want to have heaps of apps, but I don't think that we would use only a few of them on a regular basis anyway. So in the end, it will come down only to: look, water proof/resistance and battery life.

you will be lucky to get a full day out of a charge with Android wear but I get 3 days with Tizen.

      • I love to choose faces which are on display all the time rather than those that would change to minimal display unless the watch being moved up for viewing, thus my watches will last only around 36 hrs or so. That cycle is not convenient for me so I end up charging them every night.

        • Don't you risk burn in?

        • @lostn:
I wonder if that is a myth.

        • @hluu0111: Definitely not a myth.

Go to Harvey Norman and look at their OLED phones and smart watches. They will all have burn in. Samsung logos permanently burned into phones. Watches will have multiple burn ins on top of one another.

Of course you would expect burn in for display models, but if your clock face is always on, you're simulating what HN is doing..

      • I use always on and after 2 years I still get close to 2 days, don't use many apps just notifications.

    • Bought this myself yesterday. Liked the classic look vs the frontier on my wrist. Also bought a couple of straps from ozstraps as I like the silicone bands better than then leather that comes with it.

  • What does half yearly mean?

    • +1

Just another method of getting into your wallet from HN!

  • I bought mine from Samsung a month ago (I thought it will be useful) and in a month I did not find out why I need it lol. I think it will be going on gumtree soon

  • So there was no S4 in 2017? Did they run out of ideas? I'd like them to go back to the smaller size of S2.
