  • C'mon.. give us something worthwhile.. like 6 month free trial?

    • Yeah, 1 month free is bugger all considering it only costs like $6/m in the first place.

      Hello @Joshuah,
6 months is a long trial and most companies will lock you in a contract for such a long period.
At least here you will get one month with no strings attached! :-)

I rather have the hosting companies not providing free trials, especially long ones, as they attract too many spammers / scammers.

      • Yup, i got bitten once, in the end i made up for the small financial loss with the satisfaction that i made the scammers life hell for a while, so it was kinda worth it. I won't touch any kind of trial now. one of those things that isn't worth skimping on, or taking the risk of using an unknown provider, unless you are just playing around.

  • Why does it say:

Choose the default payment method that will be used to automatically renew your service. Once you have ordered, you have to make an online payment

    • +1

      No cheques accepted :D

    • Looks like there are strings attached.

    • Hello @amanvell,

As explained in the offer, your VPS service will automatically renew. So you will be ask for a payment method in the ordering process.
When you use a debit card, there is an authorisation done to your bank (generally 1$ is charged on your card then reverted back).
      Hope this helps.

Just use the free VPN on the opera browser. Works like a charm.

This is for Vps not VPN

    • Hello @bbllaaddee

To remove the confusion, we are talking about VPS here (not VPN).
For info VPS is a Virtual Private Server.

I picked up an OVH VPS during their black friday sales to use as a plex server. Been great so far, definitely recommend!

    • Hi @Yanni1,
Thank you for your positive feedback and recommendation! Much appreciated

I used OVH years ago before they entered the Australian market. I rented several dedicated servers and split them up to offer a range of web hosting and VPS solutions.

I'm sure OVH is just as great as they have been for me in the past. I think it's awesome that they're now offering services in Sydney.

  • Do you have any reseller plans (VPS)?

    • +1

      Hello @webconsultant,

We do not offer a reseller program but we are hoping to open a partner program in Australia.
In the mean time, you might be interested to know that we offer APIs for provisioning and management of VPS, Dedicated servers..etc..

Any plan to increase the speed? 100 mbps is a household speed. I rather have 1gbps speed with half the data quota.

  • This is a vps not a dedicated server

    • I'm fully aware this is vps. Vultr which sell around the same price range provides 1gbps VPS.

Just like cpu, ram or other resources in virtual environment , the 100mbps is arbitrary limitation imposed by the hypervisor or a packet shaper. I would assume that increasing the speed is as easy and as instant as throttling the connection.

Also S on the vps stand for server so its reasonable to expect a server to have better connectivity than just 1 home user on a 5 year old cable connection.

      • With 1GB of RAM and 1vCPU do you honestly expect to saturate a 100mbps link?

        • Easily. Serving static files using event driven web server does not require a lot of resources.

        • @pig: Ram

        • @sunnyc Any event driven web server requires very little memory. Nginx can serve +10,000 requests per seconds using only ~100mb of RAM. see benchmark

        • @pig: What about Apache, I run 5 heavy websites and I keep running out of ram
