iPhone 7 256GB $64/Month (20GB Data - 24 Month Contract) - Optus at Harvey Norman

50

Harvey Norman has an “unadvertised” Optus special at the moment (which doesn’t have an official expiry date). It’s $64 a month for the iPhone 7 256gb over 24 months. The plan includes calls and 20gb data.
They are also offering the Samsung Galaxy S8 for $59 a month as per Optus direct.
I went in to buy the iPhone 8 but I’m tempted by this deal.

to old for 2yr contract, optus was just offering in dec $69pm for iphone 8 256gb, wait for that deal to come again

    • Thinking of going the Galaxy or maybe buying the iPhone 8 64gb outright at DJs for just over $900

      • go outright & a cheap sim plan, is that au stock $900?

        • Better than the galaxy? I’ve not owned one but people keep telling me how awesome they are.

@LXE3: no idea, but if your going S8 remember the S9 will be released march/april better off waiting for that

Yes, there was a deal posted earlier that requires a price match and the use of David Jones vouchers through RACQ. Even when I team the phone with a $24 6gb plan it’s coming in a couple of dollars more than the Galaxy a month. I’m kind of attracted to that deal where I can get a new phone for $99 after 12 months (Optus).

        • @RogueWolf:
I agree. Despite most, I didn't really like the S8, felt Beta'ish. Looked great but hopefully the next will have proper facial recognition that'll beat the iPhone

        • @RogueWolf: yer, i just need pretty basic features. I just want a lower cost but good quality phone rather than a high cost awesome phone. I love my SE but I took it out for a JetSki and the salt water is killing it slowly 😩

@LXE3: do your costings going by your $26plan, buy s8 outright $800 + $26pm for 12m = $1088 sell phone in a year say at worst price $500, plan costed $588 over the year

or sign up to $59pm for 24m but upgrade for $99 in a year = $807 for 12m & your stuck in a 2yr contract again when you upgrade

          @RogueWolf: good point!

      • Just over $1000 for the iPhone 8 at djs, unless I’ve missed a promo.

        • Should be $894 with the DJs vouchers if they’ll match. I’m in SEQ, so I’m hopeful.

      thats my post!!!! FTW

  • A bit off topic, i was leaning towards getting the s8 for $59/m. I don't really need the phone, thinking of selling it for $700 for a quick sell but i'll end up paying $30/m for the plan. Ended up signing up with kogan extra large plan instead. Less hassle.

    • Is that with your own phone?

      • Yeah own phone. Plus i was able to buy this $50 off on kogan mobile from ebay for $6. So it worked out to be just $22/m.

  • Is there a waiting period to get your hands on the S8 on the $59 plan?

  • No, I don’t believe so.
