  • anyone used it before? is it better or worse than Kogan?

    • +2

Never used Kogan before but this uses Vodafone network. It really depends on the coverage in your area but the reception/speeds have been great in Melbourne CBD and western suburbs.

    • +4

Same network. Only difference is the value to you. Consider Kogan 365 can be had using the $50 off vouchers from various sources including eBay.

Comes down to International Calls vs. Data Allowance.

      • Which is better for what.. I think I prefer data but also good dates policy when going over aka prevent shock bills.. I know Kogan does this you need to recharge before using more data once reached your limit which is very good for bill shock especially with auto updates ascend all sorts of stuffs these days.

Does lebara have good data policies for going over?

        • Unless you need the international calls, get the Kogan plan with the data you need. use the $50 off vouchers to get best price.

        • @Steptoe:what I missed, how to get $ 50 voucher?

        • +1

          @Tonyusq:

          Ebay. Search “Kogan Voucher”

    • I'd prefer Lebara for customer support. Kogan's only got email support and there's noone you can call. & I tell you from my experience, Kogan email support is appalling.

I've still got a few months left from the previous deal from last year (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/306903). If I purchase the recharge option and apply it, will it add on to my existing service for another year (May 2019)?

    • Rep advised in previous deal that recharges stack. Check there to be sure.

    • Yes, should work. I just added an extra 180 days (recent deal) on top of my 360 days.

      • Theoretically then could you stack this deal for many years or is there a limit. This would be great to set and forget your situation.. heavy peace of mind for me at least because I tend to live in the moment and forget things sometimes.

        • I'm not sure if there is an upper limit but mine expires in like July 2019.

        • @iamnotintheuk: ah ok I might contact the rep to find out.

        • @AlienC:

          From Link I put above;

Theoretically you can have up to 24 x 30 day plans stacked or two 360's, 4 180's. If you do have an issue call us and we can fix it.

    • Thanks for the replies guys! I can confirm that the recharge stacked on my account :)

  • So if I don't have an existing Lebara sim, then I need to buy both the $4.90 starter pack as well as the $199 recharge voucher?

Can I then activate the $4.90 sim, use the first 30 days data included in that, after which I then recharge with the 360 day voucher?

Thanks in advance for the help!

    • +1

No you can buy a $199 starter pack and it comes with a new sim.

Or you could buy an additional recharge and get almost 2 years under $400, as the rep in the last deal said, you can stack em up.

      • Thanks!

      • What is the max stack.. could I buy 5 x $199 deals and stack them up having 5 years of Lebara medium plan ?

  • ?International roaming

    • ?International roaming

The answer is "Currently, Lebara Australia SIMs do not support International Roaming to make calls from overseas to Australia." (from here).

But you could have found that answer for yourself ….

    • Stay in touch with unlimited standard National Talk, Text and MMS
    • Unlimited standard calls to 12 selected countries
    • $5 international call credit every 30 days Check international rates
    • 5GB data in Australia every 30 days
    • Don't think that answers the question about international roaming. Calling to overseas is different to calling while overseas.

      • Both lebara and kogan have no international roaming.

From my experience, lebara gives free call forwarding - so maybe forward to a local sim if covered by the 12 countries you are travelling to.

  • Just want to make sure, is this the best plan for someone make quite a lot of international calls?
What the 10G bonus mean for 360days deal?
It has to activate in 60days?
