  • They stopped their launch in Australia, its on a indefinite hold. Was sad to hear.

    • It's because their prices over here were ludicrous for the 5. They fully bought into the Australia Tax on their Aussie site. Just so much cheaper to buy overseas and import.

      • Anyone you can recommend other than Kogan for buying one? I know Shopmonk was decent for the S8+ but I am worried about the root. Does Kogan root their phones too?

Would be pretty wary when dealing with shopmonk. Ordered my OnePlus 5 this time around last year and was lost during transit. Contacted them about this lost phone and they suggested I purchase another phone from them (another $550 on top of the original $550) and they would follow up….obviously did not do that and still never had the original phone delivered for about 2 months. Customer service was close to non existent until after going through PayPal dispute.

    • Other way around. great experience with shopmonk, ordered 2 Xiaomi Note 4's and both arrived the week after i ordered them.

Fast and cheap isnt something you usually find.

Thats the thing, everybody's hapoy with the experience when things go right, but its when things goes wrong, do you really find out how good they are.

Did you get a refund after all that? What phone did you get?

    Rooted Version

JV: Why would you buy one that doesn't work?

  • Block-quote Note: This is a Rooted Version and comes with Google Play Store Installed

Google play store is not normally installed on OnePlus 5T ?

Not with the Chinese version running ColorOS. International versions have OxygenOS, which yes does have the Play store included.

    • I guess this is Chinese version…

      • Maybe, there's no physical (hardware) differences between the phones. If all they've done is flash OxygenOS (and install root for some reason) then it's the same as the international version. If instead they've rooted and manually installed the Play store, then I'd be a little worried. But that said, you can just flash it yourself with OxygenOS proper again.

I'd be more worried that they've opened the sealed box, so you have no idea if you're getting a new phone or a refurb.

        • They always opend the box and they resealed with plastic wrapping like iphone. I have purchased 2 phones from shopmonk, both were wrapped.

  • Android 8.0.0 (Oreo) has been released for this phone 3 days ago too: http://downloads.oneplus.net/oneplus-5t/oneplus_5t_oxygenos_…

  • hopefully one+6 will have wireless charing :)

I bought one from Vaya and works perfectly

    • +1

      me too… loving it :D

    • On ebay? Should I get from Vaya over Kogan?

    • Btw, how are they for their general mobile plans and customer service?

      • I use Kogan, only bought the phone from vaya. It's fine when I used vaya 2 yrs ago, they use optus

  • very bizarre that it's rooted…no need to root the phone to flash OxygenOS

    • Interesting. How do you flash a phone without rooting it and installing a custom boot loader?

      • You don't need to root to flash custom rom. You however need to unlock bootloader.

        • This. Plus since OxygenOS is an official build, I'm almost certain it can simply be flashed in the phones stock recovery (without any need to unlock the bootloader)

  • Be aware when buying 5Ts that they can't stream HD netflix/hulu etc. They don't have the required certificates so the apps will only provide SD video.

  • So this had ColorOS installed and is rooted.

Does root cause any problems pulling down ColorOS updates?

  • Just went to order, and found the price has returned to $776/$856. Expired.

    • Ordered black 8/128GB today, so I guess, not expired.
