  • Google Play is 10% off now without using Flybuys.

      Correct, ending Tuesday 13th.

Go to a 24hr coles, scan item at 11:59, pay at 00:00?

        • Price registered at time of scan, not time of pay.

          Edit: I think …

So any Google Play card domination? Buy $20 Google Play card, get $5 in points, making it $15?

    • Sounds like it, the link doesn't mention min denomination. But it's once oer household, so 25% off $20 so long as you can get another 1000 point on the card to use the 2000pts.

Other thing is eGiftcards work (for me anyway at Selfserve) as I purchased some g.play cards today. So if you.can get 5% off those its cheaper again.

  • I really don't buy any content from google play but was wondering - are there any hacks like using the gift cards to pay for a netflix account or somesuch? Sorry for a potentially dumb question…

    • +2

      There is no hack.

You can use Google Play to pay for your Netflix subscription.
People buy Google Play gift cards when they are on special (10% - 20% off) and load it into their account.

      • Not entirely sure you can do this anymore. I think Netflix only has direct billing and Netflix gift cards for AUS. No more Google Play billing support? Although they did have it at one stage I think.

        • That's my current method of payment.

I had to switch over to gift cards ever since Telstra killed carrier billing. Was good while it lasted. :(

        • I read in another OzBargain thread that if you go through a VPN like a Hong Kong one, you can use Google Play billing. It works because I just did it myself the other day.

        • @kerfuffle: is your Play account in AUD or HKD?

        • @newdad: AUD. Hong Kong is just an example that worked for me; you need to route through a country that does Google Play billing for Netflix

@kerfuffle: thanks. I am going to have to give this a try. It sounds like the VPN in Opera browser might be able to handle this.

        • @newdad: If that doesn’t work, Tunnelbear is a free one you can try. Let us know how you go!

This is a pretty good deal is it works with the $20 cards

    Great to eBay. Thanks op!

  • @BrodenIt A lot of work when the margin is only $5 before eBay and PayPal fees?

  • +2

Do you get 1000 FB points on $5 Skype card as well? If yes, then card is effectively free.. :)

    • Coles only stock $25 cards, unlike Woolworths who stock both $10 and $25. Considering the cheap call rates $25 is overkill.

      • Plus, I think they expire in 180 days from purchase.

        • Once you've applied the credit to your Skype account it lasts forever.

        • @mysterytal: Oh.. that’s good then. Didn’t know it and was trying to find new friends and relatives to make intl calls to use up the balance fast. Lol.. Thanks, mate.

  • My local Coles stocks only $30 & $50 Google Play cards =/

Heaps of $20s at Coles Westfield Parramatta; they're to the left of the entrance

      • +1

        Perfect, thanks kerfuffle :)

  • this doesn't work

    still no points

    • +1

It takes at least a day for the points to be posted to your account (as per every other bonus points offer); it's not instant.

      • Oh! I did not know that, thanks

  • +2

Got my 1000 points for buying a $20 Google Play card!
