damn you really went out there with that $1 discount

    • +9

Well.. the OP is really "Outthere"

  • +16

We’ve run this offer before at $99 but we wanted to go one better for you. So how’s $98 sound?

sounds like a lot of cents but not a lot of sense.

    • I'm 100% it's 100 cents.

  • Thanks guys, you have made me see the error of my ways. I probably should have said that the standard price is $160. Will fix that now.

  • +5

Decent deal,. Shame it's using voda. Anyone seen any other 6 month deals on telstra /optus?

    • Coles, ALDI but not all that much.

      • ALDI periodically sell 12 month mobile plans (on Telstra network) which last time I checked included 42GB data that you can use over the 12 months …. and free local/national calls and sms … for $249 if anyones interested.

Not sure when they will be next available but they regularly advertised in the ALDI catalogue like 2-4 times a year

        • Aldi never has unlimited intl calls to 12 countries though. This is a clear winner if one needs intl calls to those countries since even Amaysim doesn't have any great 6-months plan for the existing customer.

  • no love for Vietnam? :(

    • +4

We've got love for everyone. You'll get $5 credit to say Good Morning Vietnam (or any other country not already unlimited). That's 55 minutes per month to Vietnam BTW.

    • +1

      NO LOVE FOR EUROPE

Forget all that rubbish, how does it compare to KOGAN???

      • +5

Coverage and speed etc is identical. Both use Vodafone. If you need international calls definitely come to Lebara. If there is a deal like this on you're best with Lebara regardless. And if Kogan are doing deals too you'll need to make a call on who is the best for you at the time.

  • +3

What does ‘registered’ friends and family mean ?
    How many are allowed ??

    • +3

For India only you can register 3 numbers via MyLebara. These numbers will be unlimited. You can change the numbers each month if you wish.

      • +4

What is the reason for this limitation for India? Other providers like Lyca mobile offer free unlimited calls to India…

        • -1

All operators have their own international agreements. For us to offer the price we have we can't give unlimited to India. For most people 3 is enough so that's what we have done. You'll also get 250 minutes per month to other Indian numbers with the $5.

        • +2

@Outthere: This a big deal breaker.

      • This is weird.. most telcos 'Outthere' have India/ US/ China/ UK/ NZ (at least these five) always included in their list for 'free' intl calls if they offer such feature.

        • Not everyone wants to call India. I certainly don't.

      • +2

Every-time I see this deal, I briefly get excited only to find out this weird 3 number restriction in T&Cs. Almost every telecom (even Telstra) offers unlimited calls to India in their International calling packs. This is because a majority of Indian community stays in touch with large number of their extended family/friends back home via short duration calls, rather than calling some specific number for hours (except for those in long distance relationships I guess).

        • You nailed it.

  • For new customer, what is the expiry date to activate? When is this offer expiring? Thanks..

    • +1

60 days to activate. Deal is live until the end of this weekend.

  • we wanted to go one better for you

Go up to the Larger Plan next time. In about 11 months or so will do me.

    • +4

Done already. We can only do one post per day so I couldn't create it as a separate post. But see the one liner…

      Use OZB119 on 180 day Large Plan (16GB and 15 countries). https://www.lebaraonline.com.au/lebara-mobile/lebara-sim-pac…

      • Just put a 12 month expiry on the deal and I'll be there 👍

        • +3

Don't ask much. Ha, we would if we could but that's not the way the finance team want to play it.

We'll still be here when you're available in 11 months. For you we'll wait.

        • @Outthere:
Kogan won out this time due to larger data for similar spend. If not for Kogan $50 off $120 vouchers I would have ported over. Next time maybe. 👍

        • +6

@Steptoe: Different strokes right. For anyone that does even a little bit of international calling I think we win. If you're a heavy data user it really depends on what Kogan are offering at the time. Our 180 day large plan has 16GB per month right now and $119 with the offer. We'll catch you next time. Kogan will serve you well we use the same network.

        • @Outthere:

I find that stacking the vouchers on Lebara to be way easier than stacking them on Kogan, who erase any remaining days on the recharge.

        • @Outthere: The biggest issue I found with Lebara, LycaMobile, and many other small players is the lack of long-term deals (e.g. 1-year plan) even though they often have great deals for the first month or so. People need stability with their phone plan.. they want cheap plans but don't want to keep moving every month, it's a hassle. That's precisely the reason Kogan has done so well with their 365-days plan. It won a lot of Amaysim customers who didn't have a great long-term choice with Amaysim. Recharging once with a great yearly plan and not having to do ANYTHING for 365 days is the best thing! 6-months deal is surely welcome (at least better than 1-month ones) but 12-months deal will sell even better, trust me.

        • @virhlpool: Thanks for the feedback. We ran a year long deal a while back and people wanted 6 months. We've got the best of both worlds now as we got a great price on 6 month plans that stack. You have 60 days to use the voucher but you can use more than one to create a queue. You can get up to 24 months max using these vouchers.

      • +1

Edit the title and include both plans in.

  • +1

Are you any closer to including international SMS and MMS into this offer? Happy to use the $5 call credit if that what it takes which is already part of the plan.
I didn't commit last time because Lebara were looking into to see what could be done and yet heard nothing.
I am currently with Lebara on a month by month basis and everything has being great, but I am really holding out for an offer which includes international minutes and text before I commit to a longer period. I am hopeful someone somewhere will offer this option very soon.

  • Harveyworld I'm closer to this I swear. But I still can't commit sorry. Lame excuse I know.

    • Thanks for update.

If I or anyone else got this deal could you guarantee that this would be retrospectively added to Lebara users at a later date or am I best holding off?

      • That part I have been given a yes on already. So when it happens you will get it.

        • Saying when not if is a good Freudian slip 😂

  • Any offer on the 360 day plans?

    • These stack so if you buy a SIM and a recharge voucher you'll get 1 year. This is as low as we can go so there is not detriment to buying 2 x 180 days.

  • Op is this prepaid or postpaid?

    • Prepaid. But you'll save more that way if you can lay it down up front.

  • Hi Outhere. Am an existing 12-month sim customer, expiring soon. If I buy 2 recharges, will these stack to last 12 months after my current expiry?

    • +1

They sure will. You can stack as long as you are on what we used to call Mega or National. And will stack on the current Medium and Large Plans.

      • Thanks. Purchased :)

      • Hi Outhere. Am an existing 12-month 5GB sim customer, expiring in June, can I buy the 16GB voucher and recharge now when the existing 5GB plan finishes then start the 180-day-16gb plan?

        • would like to know this too.
If I recharge using the 16GB plan now (currently on 5GB plan), when the 5GB plan runs out, do I automatically get 16GB/30 days?

      • I have Lebara 365 plan expiring in 6 months. Is it worth buying on this deal now or waiting to see what’s around when close to expiry? If I buy now, do I recharge now and have the new plan added on? Is there some way of converting what’s left to a new plan, applying the pro-rata credit?

  • I bought a starter pack and recharge voucher during two weeks ago. Still haven't receive the SIM card from lebara.. chat with their staff online and was told to go get $2 SIM card from Coles.

Very disappointed as I yet to see starter pack in my mailbox although put up second request to resend another starter pack

Lebara, please improve your customer service

    • DarthLord apologies if this didn't come across to you right. Generally they will post a SIM to you and tell you if you want then you can also pick a SIM up in a store. Some people would rather pay $2 than wait. We can't help Australia Post but we can be clearer with how we communicate to you.

      • Hmmm not sure why request for resend and email confirmation didn't happen as well

Possible to request full refund since I'm not receiving what I've bought

        • Strange as the PIN'S are automated. You'll need to call customer service for assistance. 1300 126 122.

        • +2

          @Outthere:

          I don't think you get it. I have bought 1 x starter pack and 1 x recharge voucher .

Yes, I received pin for booth vouchers, but I still yet to receive SIM card via post. This was bought two weeks ago, then I contacted lebara online chat support and request to resend sim, but still nothing comes in from post.

Hope you can help, if not just full refund my purchase

In the past, I ordered SIM card from amaysim, Telstra and Kogan, none of it missed delivery before and at most 3 days to arrive my post box.

It seems that your lebara customer support is not very helpful, instead just ask your customer go out and get a $2 sim from Coles. This defeat the purpose of doing online purchase

        • @DarthLord: Oz post say 5 to 7 working days. If you ordered two weeks ago then it's likely not been 7 working days since the replacement was sent. Sit tight, pick up a SIM from Coles (which I'm sure CS will give you $2 main balance for your cost) or call them to get a refund. Postage is beyond the control of any company once it leaves the warehouse.

        • @DarthLord:
They are sending the sim card
They direct to you to buy the SIM for $2
          Advatages
no need to sen resources to send the SImM card our
Most people won't claim the price of SIM
If they give you main balance
          It may never used.

        • @sachy:

          Agree

Best part is, I called lebara to follow up, and no record found on request to resend sim with their online chat team. So, useless online chat team which doesn't escalate my request

Next time please get a reference or report number whenever you make any request with them

  • Can any existing Lebara users comment on the coverage as well as customer service ? I am currently with Jeenee’ bit sick of being put on hold for over half hour every time I need to ring customer service

    • Pretty good overall in Western Sydney. Yes I get some signal drop off but no complaints on call quality or 4G speed.
Not sure about customer service because I only spoke once when porting over my number (which took less than 1 day from memory).
FYI: data stop working when you reach the limit so you don't have to worry about extra charges.

  • I'm assuming you guys have roaming right?

    • No International Roaming

  • +1

Man, I got the 5gb for 99,wish I had waited for the 16gb. I havent activated it yet, any chance I can upgrad by paying extra?

    • Yes of course you can. Please get in touch with care team 126122 from Lebara number and they will help you to at the difference and issue a new voucher pin.

      • Thanks, so I have to activate the sim first before I can get the upgrade?

        • Hi call us on 1300 126 122 if you don't have a Lebara SIM. We can cancel your voucher and charge you the difference when we send you a new PIN.

        • @Outthere:called them and have been told that they will get back to me next week, although they said it is not guaranteed.

        • @mlburnian: I have spoken with the customer service manager who said that it's doable. This all happened last minute on a Friday so potentially the full CS team has not been briefed. Apologies for this but I'll chase for you when I get in on Monday.

If there's a PM feature on Ozbargain send me your number so we can call you.

        • @Outthere: never got a reply from the customer service team, I sent you a pm, can you please have a look

        • I have sent you a message please check and reply. Thank you

      • What if I already activated my sim? Can I pay the difference? I also have another recharge voucher for the medium plan that I have yet to add to my account.

        • I'll say yes to the unused and maybe to the other. I'll need the CS manager to confirm on Monday.

        • @Outthere: Could you please let me know as I'm quite keen to upgrade. I just activated my sim last weekend :(

        • @Outthere: Any news? Deal is expired though :(

  • OP, can you tell me how I can port my number to Lebara with the plan mentioned here https://www.lebaraonline.com.au/prepaid-medium-180day-sim.ht… ?

    • When you get the SIM follow the prompts during the onloine activation. Tick the box to say you want to port and that's it. Do it during office hours for the quickest result.

      • Cheers. When you say office hours, you mean Australian time right?

      • Any issues porting from Kogan as they are also on VF?

        • Sometimes ports need a nudge when you move on the same network so if you do have an issue call us on 1300 126 122.

      • @Outthere I got the sim for $98 one and activated it. Why is the account summary says plan as 'Standard Plan' and main balance '$0.00 16/05/2018'. I was hoping to see something like 'Large Plan' and the date 180 days from the activation date which is today.

        • Please PM your details and we can have a look for you.

        • @Outthere: All good now. Thanks

  • by When do we need to use it…
Looking for Port In…can I purchase now and initiate my Port In around 25th Feb?

    • 60 days so plenty of time for you.

  • +1

It used to be 12months for $180.

    • +1

That's on sale and it also didn't use to have unlimited international calls to 12 countries in it. But everyone can choose for themselves what suits them.

  • Whast the best deal for anywhere from 3-5GB's a month? Any provider is ok

    • search on ozbargain..

    • Try Whistleout after you look at the mobile plans page - its a good comparison site.

    • So seems that Coles mobile is cheapest for my data range.

      3.5GB a month (42GB over 12 months) is only $180 (so $15 a month!)

  • once you reach your data limit, what will happen?

    • You may always buy an add on data pack to avail extra data. We have some available. Please visit our website www.lebara.com.au for more information

      • +1

i want to know if you exceed the data limit, will you just not able to use data service, but still ok with phone call etc.

i don't want auto data pack etc

        • Yes that’s correct. You will still be able to use your sim for phone calls and sms.

  • Great deal, but pity Vodafone reception is so lacklustre in my area.

  • Nice deal. Now I can convince parent figure to just have an incoming call only home phone.

Somehow I think they'll still want to have it,"just in case"
