Seems like a great price from B&H as the cheapest these seem to be on local eBay are well over $200 with current specials and $273 from Staticice

Obviously a grey import but plenty of people seem to buy from B&H so i'm guessing theres no issues with warranty.

Also delivered via DHL so should be nice and fast!

Enjoy!

  • Obviously a grey import but plenty of people seem to buy from B&H

the issue would be with it being North American model rather than grey import. Has to do with frequency bands.

    • Ah I see - so does that mean it wouldn't work here?

EDIT : Pretty sure a firmware upgrade will have it sorted out.

But i'm a novice in this so feel free to correct me if i'm wrong ;)

      • I think AlexF is getting a Wi-Fi router confused with a mobile phone.

        • no he is not, WiFi runs inside a particular frequency spectrum - channel

      • +2

In view of the differences in spectrum allocations around the globe and different requirements for the regulatory authorities, not all the WLAN channels are available in every country. The table below provides a broad indication of the availability of the different Wi-Fi channels in different parts of the world.

You can read this WP forum for more information.

      • This router is not localized, you can choose any country and work just fine. In fact, choose other country will still working fine, only problem I know of is Apple device might not connected

        • Bands for (Consumer) WiFi routers for sale in North America are hard-locked as mandated by FCC - firmware upgrades or country setting modification won’t unlock. Bands on imports from other countries operate as per country setting.

    • Also what about the power adapter won't it be a USA plug one.

  • My internet at home is crap. I have a TPG issued router. Will this make it better or am I already doomed?

    • ADSL or NBN?

      • Adsl.

        • that would be your problem, get a better router when you go on NBN

        • I think the problem is the adsl line, not the modem, I use other modem and TPG modem, both got 0.7mbps for download, unbelievable.

  • will this work with NBN?

    • which one?

    • +4

If your NBN is using Fiber to the Node technology, you will need an VDSL2+ Modem router.

The TP Link Archer "C" series are all routers only.

TP Link Archer "VR" series are VDSL enabled.

  • is this equivalent of the vr2600or vr2800 ?

happy to load new firmware but if vr2600 hardware then not much saving over australian price , of vr2800 then great deal.

  • How does the TP-Link Archer C3150 compare with the Rebranded RT-AC68U?
