Yes, more expensive, but RRP comment is slightly irrelevant.

After shipping that's only $167 more for a brand new monitor…

Pretty sad that QC is still so sloppy on a $1200 monitor. Dead pixels are annoying as hell.

    • +3

Unless it's dead center on the monitor so I can 360 no scope someone.

      • Just make a small dot with a white board marker like every one else does.

Not a bargain. 2nd hand monitor with flaws and no warranty. Better off going to gumtree. Budget PC also had those issues on those previous ex demo monitors and have notoriously bad customer service. No thanks!

  • over 10 ex-demo screens in stock?

    • +1

And all of the demo units were defective.

      Seems legit.

dead pixel , faulty panel, no thanks!

Dodgy post. This should be removed

  • never got the powerbank last time

I received my ex demo from this place. Transaction was smooth, got a courtesy phone call. Don't even notice the dead pixels (since it's a 1440p monitor)

IPS have inherent backlight bleed and as far as I know a lot were returned because of this. No complaints with my ex demo 3 dead pixels. Still a bargain.

Good god, the damned neg police!! Sorry can only remove one from this sensible reply.

Got mine from these guys a couple of deals ago. Service was actually really good, and the monitor had no issues whatsoever, I love it.
Was a bargain way for me to get one of these monitors, especially when they were over $1000 brand new at the time.
I called them first and chatted about the condition/quality of the ones they had in stock at the time.

    • Same here. I found the staff to be very helpful and knew what they were talking about.

    • +2

So you bought an ex-demo that advertised 1-3 dead pixels and there were no dead pixels on the one your received?

  • +2

Despite some saying "great service", 50% off on a faulty (IMHO) monitor has no appeal for me….and if lockster is correct - "After shipping that's only $167 more for a brand new monitor…" then this is a really bad buy….not checking as not interested.

    • Well the other monitor is the Acer version not Asus. But yeah, it's the direct competitor.

  • I've actually bought a monitor from these guys and they let me inspect a couple of these before buying one. I couldnt see the dead pixel untill the employee showed me the pixel near the bezel. If you live near the store definitely worth a look. They also offered 1 year warranty.

  • The quality control on these are horrendous. We have been getting quite a few of these in warranty.

  • The bigger question is, how could they use a monitor with dead pixels and backlight bleeding as a demonstrational unit??

  • Not a bargain. "Ex-Demo with 1-3 dead pixels and slight black light bleed." isn't a bargain and isn't comparable to new never mind original RRP.Negging.

As for good service some are claiming, what service are you talking about? You bought a damaged monitor and you got a damaged one? Hooooray!?
