      i have both an older and what i believe to be a newer xiaofang (came with newer firmware). Both hacked with fanghacks to stay off the cloud and to be made available on my local network. Region doesn't matter in this case (although yes I had to set my region to china for the initial setup only)

  Reviews on Amazon and elsewhere fro the $46 one are awful. Interference from other monitors? (Really not a secured channel????) Bad battery. Random disconnects. The list of complaints is long and distinguished.

  Their customer service terrible. No will pick phone, after 20 minutes of waiting you will be disconnected. Can't get proper answer through email. If anything goes wrong forgot about the warranty. They don't care about price difference. They say everything handle seller. They just get commission. Wastage of money. I wasted $150 on mydeal.com.au. Never again
