Rebranded RT-AC68U.Similar to previous deal.

  • Does anyone who purchased one of these previously have a link to an AU power adaptor that works with it? Thanks

I just use this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/360551, and it works

      • Is there any chance you can tell me the V/A output on the adapter that comes with the router? I'm getting two values when I search online: 19V/2.37A and 19V/1.75A

          Mine's the latter, but it's an Aussie-bought AC68U (C1 revision).

Mine from USA Amazon, and it's the first

    • Just use normal converter and it just works fine.

I take it that - once this has been reflashed into a 68U - one can run OpenVPN through this router?

Nice. It's a solid router. Left one at a previous sharehouse (cost me over 200 bucks at the time).

My 2 both came looking brand new including new US power adaptors. On one I used a super cheap US to Au adaptor and on the other I twisted the pins to AU angle - the adpators are surprisingly sturdy and coped with the twisting without breaking/splitting the casing. Both supplied adaptors are working fine for me.

On the apdaptor using the the US to ASU dongle I glued the 2 together so no issue with it being loose/falling out.

    • Thanks, I'll probably do that to start with. Once I get the wattage and connector size nailed down it looks like I can get an AU adaptor off AliExpress for $12-$15 delivered

Anyone done the conversion back with no problem - I was reading there might be a lock down firmware that makes it more difficult - someone confirm if they had old or new T-Mobile firmware ?

    • +3

Very Easy, there are guides you can easily find for the whole process, only took me 30 minutes to flashed it with ASUS-Merlin.
Shipping from Amazon US took 7 days.

Thanks, got one to try the AiMesh feature with my existing AC68U router.

same thought.. just remind aimesh firmware can be installed on any available router like ea6900 with changed cfe, but you cannot use the mesh function which is banned by ASUS. so as at least two ac68u are needed.

    CANT GET THAT PRICE
    Items: USD 59.99
    Shipping & handling: USD 12.12
    Total before tax: USD 72.11

    • Sorry, price has gone back up from USD$50. :( … I recommend adding an OzBargain search alert so you get emailed when someone posts an AC68U deal, and try checking the amazon page once a week as the seeker seems to drop the price on a semi-regular basis.

    • Price has dropped to USD$50+ shipping agin if you're still looking
