After missing out the last time this was posted, I've checked occasionally in store to see if a similar price was available. Each time they had their standard price of $329.99 (still cheaper than anywhere else I've ever seen).

Now I've found this product is listed online as a $50 off the (undisclosed) standard price. Which I believe is still $329.99, but I haven't had time to visit the store to confirm it.

Was going to wait until the weekend when I have time to go in but that doesn't leave people much time to act on the deal, so thought I'd post now on the assumption that the price hasn't changed.

    Sony player will play it far better than One S that stutters while playing UHD discs

      Google this and you will find the solution. The XB1S/X plays 4k fine with atmos and X pass through. The revenant used to stutter for me and bow it doesn't after disabling one of the options under blu ray in settings. Hope this helps.

    Thinking about it also. But wondering what features will be dropped, assuming the lower number means lower level product.

      It's actually a newer model of the X800 despite the lower model number. The major difference is that the X700 will have DV.

        Researched this one a little, main changes going from X800 to X700 are

        DV support to be available in future firmware
        Smaller form factor with external power supply
        DVD-Audio support dropped
        Bluetooth support dropped
        Only 2.4GHz wifi

    DV will never happen for the X800, will be for the X700 (new model)

  I can definitely verify the Sony UBPX800 is $279.99 at Costco. I brought one yesterday and it seem to be the cheapest around at the moment too.

  note that the X800 doesnt have optical audio out if you connect to an amp via optical.
