iPhone X 256GB $100 Optus Plan with 25GB/Month @ Harvey Norman (24 Month Contract)

90

Deal as title says (just an FYI link doesnt go to deal because I cant find the deal online)
You get 25GB data per month and 300 international mins to countries they listed. They did the maths and it worked out really cheap for the contract if you minus the price of the phone.
I was in Harvey Norman looking at outright mobiles and the salesperson mentioned they're doing a special on an Optus Contract.
I did see that they're doing it at optus stores from a different Ozbargain post but this salesperson offered a free case (I got a UAG one, usually like $60 or something), not sure if they all will give one but ask them anyways, they probably will do the same to offer more value than optus stores, but I can't guarantee they will.
So Admins please take this down if it's wrong to post this again but from a different store.
Anyways the maths worked out to be:
$100 x 24 months = $2400
HN sells that model of phone for $1829
So 2400-1829 = $571
and $571/24 = $23.79 per month for the plan.
$23.79 for 25GB/mth plus the intl mins (which I won't use anyways) smashes any sim only I've seen (besides those capped speed kogan 365 deals that give like 23gb
but you gotta outlay for the whole year)
Anyways, I'm happy with the deal I got, just wanted to share :D
I think its for new customers only or for new numbers if you're with optus.

    is this considered a duplicate?
same product, but one is optus, and the other is optus via HN

  • Same offer, but go to HN for free stuff, if possible. Optus stores doesn't do free stuff.

    • what free stuff?

free hassling from the staff to buy extended warranty? or overpriced accessories?

      • OP said: "but this salesperson offered a free case (I got a UAG one, usually like $60 or something)".

Asking for accessories for free is different from hassling them to give it for free.

        I've seen many times in any retail store, people will just keep asking for free stuff;
        - "I know you can"
        - "It's not going to hurt the business if you give me X stuff"
        - "Discount it"
        - "Give me employee discount"
        - "I spend so much money to you guys"
        - "I'm a loyal customer"

Sorry, but if the sales rep says no the first time, it's no the second time.

It's fine to ask it the first time, try it, there's no harm. But to try force someone, it's not gonna work.

  • ok get it.. if Apple hasn't ripped you our, Optus will!

  • HN offered me a $30 case…So you did well OP.

  • Thanks OP

  • Isn't the Optus $100 plan a lease?

    • Not from Optus store.
