I purchased the KD659300E from their eBay Store with a further 10% off from PRONTO offer. It was advertised as refurbished. I received the TV yesterday and it is perfect! Not even cosmetic wear. I faced a lot of difficulties with Toll, their courier contractors but the product itself is like brand new. Just my 2c. YMMV.

    • Is your box yellow or white? Some told me that refurbished TV is in yellow box while brand new ones in white boxes. Just checking.

It was a brown box. Might be refurbished going by your comment. But absolutely doesn't feel like one. :)

    • Is there one year warranty on these refurbs?

      • Yup, there is.

Thanks. Really not keen on a factory refurb but at just $1160 for a 55" X9000E I couldn't resist. Postage included saves me $50 odd on a new unit sourced elsewhere too. Fingers crossed it's not a dud.

I got the KD43X7000E last week with this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/361049. It works out slightly cheaper than this deal $544.32 vs $574.56. It hasn't been delivered yet so I can't comment on the refurb quality. Harvey Norman had this TV for $718 with 10% back in gift cards as part of their lunar new year sale which is only ~$100 more and depending on the quality of the refurb may have been a better deal.

The Sony ebay store gets generally bad reviews so keep that in mind. The prices on the ebay store been displayed as a percentage off the list price might help you if you end up going to the ACCC with a complaint. As my understanding is the ACCC judge if a product is 'acceptable quality' for its price based off the undiscounted price.

The TV just arrived. It seems to be a brand new TV. Everything was wrapped in its plastic still. It came in a brown cardboard box for this model (not a generic box). The box was damaged in one corner which must be why this is a second. I'm very happy with the purchase.
