    Typical price for 1 plan is $206 - $50 coupon + $10 to buy coupon = $166

    With this deal its $300 - $50 + $10 = $260. $130 per plan.

Its a saving but not a huge one

    • what is this $50 off that people mention. How do you get that?

      • ebay kogan $50 voucher. Should come up.
        Note: its a $30 and a $20 voucher for a spend over $120

        • Sorry can you elaborate on this ebay kogan voucher?

I must have missed it on a previous deal?

        • @jpwwong:

Not a deal, there are vouchers for $50 ($30 + $20) which you can buy on ebay for ~$10. These vouchers can be applied to the a spent of >$120 on Kogan.

        • Thanks for the voucher info

So is that 2 separate codes, one for 30 and one for 20?

I also have a 10 voucher that kogan sent me for a price drop refund

Any idea if they can be stacked?

          Thanks very much

        • @suntagonal:
So if it's a $30 and a $20 voucher can you use both the vouchers at the same time? as it looks like you can only use one voucher at a time in a ebay listing I was reading.

        • @suntagonal:

Ah ok - thanks for the clarification!

        • @Scaregdearimasu:

My understanding of it, and how it worked the last time i signed up, is that because one is $30 and the other is $20 you can you both. For completeness, you can't buy two vouchers… e.g., 2 x $30 and 2 x $20 and apply it to the same purchase.

        • @Hoju:

          No idea, sorry

        • @suntagonal: Do you know where the sellers get the vouchers from?

        • @jpwwong:

When you are at the checkout you have the option to put in a unique eVoucher to get further discounts.
People are selling these $50 vouchers on ebay for $13 so you save another $37 on the total price. These vouchers are unique so every one is different. The $50 vouchers that they are selling on eBay comprise of a $20 voucher and a $30 voucher that can be used together for the same transaction (ie, there are two unique voucher codes). I bought one and it worked fine without an issue.

      $36 dollars less it’s a massive saving for me…

    This is from KOgan's FAQ:
"After purchasing a Buy One Get One Free deal, you will be sent 2 x unique Kogan Mobile vouchers by email within 24 hours and 2 x Kogan Mobile SIM Starter Packs by post. If you are activating a new Kogan Mobile service, please visit the activation centre to redeem your voucher. If you are already a Kogan Mobile customer, simply login to your account and use a voucher to recharge. Each voucher can be redeemed for a MEDIUM/LARGE/EXTRA LARGE 365 Day Plan without any additional charge. Please note that each unique voucher must be redeemed separately and cannot be redeemed on the same account. Your vouchers will expire at 11:59pm AEST on 31/05/2018."

    • Damn. Thinking of getting this to renew my 2 kids 12 month plans expiring 16/6. So would need to activate 31/5 and lose half a months credit.

Should prob wait. They do these type of deals pretty often.

      • Buy it now, call them they refund what is left on the account. I have done it twice

    • Sorry, I'm new, but I can't seem to find where "Got a voucher" section in the activation centre to redeem my voucher, anyone got a link?

  • I don't know what to do

    • +2

      buy now, think later

  • I bought 3 plans only last week, and haven't activated them yet….Do you think Kogan will let refund them ???

    • +1

Bought two plans as per this link https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-mobile-prepaid-voucher-co…
sent them email, let's see what they reply.

      • Well price drop guarantee is specifically excluded for Kogan Mobile vouchers. So i don't like your chances at all of getting a refund either. It's a change of mind purchase. It would be a no refund since the code was already issued.

        • the codes haven't been used yet, it does not cost me much to try…

        • @Ametric:

I just don't like your chances. Voucher codes tend to be excluded from change of mind refund whether it's been redeemed or not.

        • @hollykryten: thank you for pointing that out.

    • +1

      this is worth a try

      • +1

That will unfortunately not work at all for Kogan Mobile vouchers as it says so on the web page.

"Kogan Mobile vouchers are not eligible for this Price Drop Guarantee."

        • +1

Huh. Not even in small writing. Thanks

    • I don't think so as that's a change of mind. There would be no refund. They are not obliged by any law to give a refund under that situation.

That's the same for example as buying a mobile phone prepaid voucher at a retailer and then later going back and asking for a refund since you don't want it any more.

  • how do you get a referral code?

    • +2

Click on the 'random' link in the grey box below the deal description, it will direct you to Kogan via a random referral link.

      See here for more information

  • +1

Would've bought this but my Kogan plan doesn't expire until June

    • Call them and ask to add voucher, they refund what is left on previous plan I have done twice

  • +1

doesnt apply for small plan :(

  • Says 6GB of data per 365 days in the description lol

  • Anybody in Sydney getting the 6GB plan and want to split with me. I am willing to pay. $50 off Voucher code can be bought around $10. Should cost around $125-$130 each.

    • I'm in sydney but wanna get the 16gbs…

      • Thx but only interested in 6GB.

        • actually 6gb might be good enough…it's for my wife. where are based?

        • @homersyd:

Yea PM me, I am interested to split with someone buying it.

      • Want to go half with me on 16GB?

        • cool i will pm you

  • Interesting, when I select the Medium Plan (365 days - 6 GB per month), the description of what is in the shopping basket is "Kogan Mobile Prepaid Voucher Code: MEDIUM (365 Days | 23GB) - Buy One Get One Free". Weird.

    • Wow, maybe you get 23?

    • Yeh and on the description at one point it says "6GB of data per 365 days"

      So it's either
      6gb / 30 days
      23gb / 365 days
      or 6gb / 365 days

Each one of those quotas are given in the description, what a joke…

  • Does anyone have any experience with the network vs Telstra? Currently with Boost but not getting enough data or the cost

Keen to swap if I don’t end up with poor coverage in Sydney area

    • if you're in a suburban area it's great from my experience.

    • im in sydney and telstra vs Kogan is not even in the same league.. you pay for what you get.

      • +2

I am in Sydney, and I don't notice a difference.

Depends on where you are I guess.

        • I am in Sydney and get massive black outs on the train. But don't mind as it is soooo cheap. And speeds are massively different than Telstra. At home and work, it works reasonably well.

    • +1

I just moved from Telstra. I travel on the train from the shire to cbd. I cannot notice any difference.

      • Thanks

Am I right in that boost doesn’t use the full Telstra network too?
        Seem to recall reading that.
Seems like in metro they’d be pretty similar

        • +1

I don’t know about boost, I had Telstra prepaid and tbh it was worst when I was home ( I had one bar with Telstra but 2-3 with Vodafone) On the train and at work there is no difference between them. I also have a tablet with an Optus sim and again very similar at least where I live/work

    • +2

I live on the North Shore and I do a daily commute to Redfern. Vodafone is the only usable carrier for Discord during peak hour trains.

Telstra is fine for webpages and isn't so bad. Might be able to stream a video, but Discord is unusable because it's very latency sensitive. Most people wouldn't notice a difference here.

Optus effectively has no signal at certain stops since you can only take calls because it's so congested at Warrawee, Pymble, Atarmon and between Milsons Point and Wynyard (possibly the worst stretch for Optus). At these stations I can't even load a website.

All carriers work fine outside of rush hour.

    • I've got both a Telstra and Kogan phone. Most of the time don't notice a difference in the city.

  • Just one month short, my plan expires on 30 June 2018 :-(

    • Can you get a refund for recharging early?

      • I don't think they would, I asked them previously and they said my current plan would stop and new one would start as soon as I recharge but no refund.

        • They do refunds. I got one last month for recharging early.

  • A non Kogan question - I have 11 months to go on a 24 month iPhone plan with virgin. When I click upgrade it says I still have 11 months left or I can pay ~$400. Will this get me out of the contract all together? I am currently going over the gb allowance every second month so average $65 a month with this plan. So was thinking I would pay out the $400. Then port to kogan which would give me more data and only cost ~$12 a month…any idea?

    • Short answer is Yes, it will get you out of contract (pls confirm via online chat with Virgin) - that is what I did last year to port across to Aldi.

  • I only need one who’s interested?

    • 16GB?

      • Nah 6gb

        • Do you want to you half for the 6gb? I'm interested

      • hi you interested to go half with 16GB? Please pm

  • Waiting on the ebay guy to send me the voucher codes.. lol

    • Do you mind sharing where you bought it from?

      • Just ebay "Kogan Vouchers". It's $15 at the moment for $50 value. So you save $35 doing it this way bringing each account down to $11/month. He gets back to you in about 30 min or so from the few times I have purchased from him.

  • Bloody hell.. I bought two weeks ago at 204. If I wasted it could've been$164.50

    • i bought 2 for $254*2 yesterday haha dont feel bad

      • Everytime I buy a mobile plan, within a week or two a crazy deal comes about

        • thats why i always wait for the last day to buy them but the vouchers were expired yesterday so I had to buy them

        • @hihi: oh well. Shit happens. I grabbed 6gb one for$239.90 for relatives. Now I'm thinking whether I should charge them full price. Hmmm

  • +1

what happens after 12mts? If I shared with another Ozber would I need to find him again in 1yr to port out?

    • No, the vouchers are independent, you can do what you prefer. Leave or stay

    • Yeh good point. Do you then rocket up to some normal / inflated monthly cost?

      • If you don’t choose auto renew just let it expire. When is the time if you don’t like their offer justness move

  • Just renewed my plan last month…

    • Me and husband renewed 5 days ago and myself yesterday. One thing that could be possibly done is to buy these then call and get refund for the original.
However I personally don’t feel like doing it as I would need to do twice (once for me and once for husband). Previously I have upgraded my daughters plan and I was refunded the 10 and half months no problem.

  • ive been using kogan in a data sim for my home internet. it is terrible compared to amaysim/optus. i woudlnt buy this

    • +1

The Vodafone Network (Kogan) is different to the Optus Network (Optus, Amaysim) so it's dependant on people's coverage.

      • Even with a full signal, the data quality is SO poor on Kogan. Wasnt always the case - something has changed.
I bought the free sim voucher from kogan recently, and when I try using it as a hotspot, it stutters. Theres no data transfer for like a minute and then it starts working again. This sometimes needs a reboot to fix. The connection is basically flaky.

        • Where are you located?

        • +1

          @xdirex:
Yep same thing happens to me - just really slow at times and needs a reboot! Never happened on Amaysim.
I'm located in Bris metro 10km from the city

        • @xdirex: popular suburb 10 km from melbourne

        • +1

I've been on Kogan since middle of last year (Sydney). And yep I've noticed data quality decreasing over the last few months with the ever increasing number of users. The network is getting ozbargained. Soon enough Vodafail v2.0 will emerge yet again unless some extra capacity is allocated I suppose.

  • +3

Good plan… Unfortunately no international roaming was the deal breaker for me :(

    • +1

Better off buying a local SIM to wherever you are going. Much cheaper than Roaming.

      • +2

Yes… could do that for the calls but all bank accounts and other such are linked to the number.

So if the need for password reset or verification codes arise then it would cause a lot of issues.

  • There is no mention of international calling inclusion, so I dug deeper. Then I came across this:

Stay connected with family and friends overseas

International calls and text are so last decade. On Kogan Mobile you’ll have heaps of blistering fast 4G data to WhatsApp, Viber, Skype, FaceTime and send high-res photos to family and friends overseas.

Does this mean there is no international calls included?! When did international calls become things from the last decade? Gosh so patronizing.

I dont need Kogan to tell me to use WhatsApp, Viber, Skype or FaceTime - I need them to act like a respectable telecom company that gives the ability to call peoplein other countries.

    Yep, the CIS confirms this:

What’s not included: All services not listed above, including but not limited to:
    • ●calls made, SMS sent and Data used when you are
roaming onto a network other than the Vodafone
Digital Mobile Network, including Australian and
    international networks;
    • ●calls and SMS to international numbers;
    • ●premium and re-routed SMS;
    • ●voice call diverts;
    • ●any form of video calls;
    • ●use of the VHA Network that is for a commercial
purpose or for resale by you; and
    • any voice call, SMS or MMS which is rerouted by
a third party and/or re-routed to an international
destination or to a premium number or service.

NO INTERNATIONAL CALLS AT ALL! :(

    • +3

I don't need any of that and I'm very thankful for Kogan's prices and service level.

There are plenty of other carriers that will cater to the things you've listed if you require them. They will likely cost a little more but that is to be expected.

Not sure what the problem is with a reseller offering the basics people actually want and use for an attractive price. Options are a good thing.

    • +1

My brother lives in the States.
I speak to him at least once a month.
Haven't actually made a telephone call to him in years.
Was using Skype - now I use Facebook messenger.
If I can video call for free - why use the telephone for $$$.
International calling is for suckers or scammers.

      • It certainly is useful to be able to call phones internationally especially in third world countries where data quality isn’t reliable.

        • +1

Or say you wanna call an overseas company for whatever reason.. you can't do that with Kogan on this plan without extra paying.
