How do I still not know what they do after all that text?

    • +1

I've got you sorted StoneSin with an eggsplantion.

“An egg shaker or ganzá is a hand percussion instrument, in the idiophone category, that makes a noise when shaken. Functionally it is similar to a maraca. Typically the outer casing or container is ovoidal or egg-shaped”.

      • +1

        Thank you!

      • +6

        ganzá

I smoked some of that the other day.

reminds me of the seinfield episode with the sidler. elaine gives the sidler a box of tic-tacs so he makes a sound as he walks around but ends up driving peterman crazy

  • So $11 since postage is mandatory.
Better off buying from elsewhere in person or get the item delivered for free from China while still costing a dollar.
You can even get a wooden egg shaker for $3 delivered.

    • or get the item delivered for free from China while still costing a dollar.

Dam you must really want one of these eggs bad.

    • There’s no shipping cost if you come buy them in store Sage :) However if you’d like an eggcellent deal, call the online team on (03) 8696 4650 and they’ll be more than happy to help you out. I even bet if you ask nicely, they’ll create a bargain for the shipping.

I'll admit, I thought you were supposed to put an egg inside it, shake it, then take it out and crack it in a pan and it would be scrambled.

    Negging because much cheaper elsewhere:-

To be fair, the Allan's egg shakers are decent quality. If these are the same as the ones that I got for $1 in Adelaide before they closed, there's no plastic mould lines and the surface is not glossy. Someone could use it on stage; I expect they put some effort into product development. Just because you get some toy egg shaker on AliExpress doesn't mean that it's good/comparable quality.

Furthermore $0.93 with a one month wait compared to $1 pickup tomorrow?

If you're keen to save money, get a plastic Easter egg, throw a bit of rice inside, and you can even ensure it stays shut with a bit of sticky tape. Costs nothing, so that AliExpress isn't a deal at all.

      • +5

Look closely, this is just a rebrand of the Aliexpress.

        • -3

just a rebrand of the Aliexpress

          Why lie?

It took less than a single second to see the colours are different. If you have never bought an egg shaker in your life, please don't clog the music deals with pretending.

Yes, most plastic products are made in China. No, all plastic products made in China are not of the same quality. A Australian retailer invests in product research to find one that they can put their reputation behind.

        • +6

          @twocsies: WHy are you lying?

        • -1

@BrodenIt: I'm not lying. I didn't make a specific claim that was false. I am an honest person. Furthermore, I don't feel that it's necessary to weaken the economy or Australian retailers for seven cents.

You claimed that the exact same product sold on AliExpress was rebadged and sold by Allen's music. Do you have a shred of evidence?

        • +3

          @twocsies:
Then why are you acussing me of lying?

        • -1

@BrodenIt: It is clearly not the product that was rebadged. To claim otherwise is deceit.

        • +4

@twocsies: Ordering from an online catalogue is investing in product research?

        • +2

          @twocsies:
How do you know? Saying something that isn't correct is also deceit.

      • I like the macgyver thinking twocsies.

    No deal. cheaper off aliexpress

  • +4

No deal, cheaper of Aliexpress as found by the Ozbargain police PJC

    • -2

The AliExpress deal is for a different product. You can also make your own with an Easter egg and some rice, but the product will be different.

Furthermore, it's a month wait versus pickup today. Not sure why you think it's cheaper. Mob mentality.

      • +4

It is cheaper because 93 cents is a smaller number than 1,100 cents for a child's plastic ovoid shaker which is never needed urgently. Price consciousness at a bargains website is normal, not mob mentality.

        • -1

          The price is $1.00.

        • +2

@twocsies: The price is $11.00 delivered. The Aliexpress price is 93c delivered.

        • -1

@PJC: Oh, sorry. You can pick it up for $1 today. Delivery costs are optional.

        • +2

@twocsies: I did not know they had a store in every state thankyou op.

        • -1

@Wystri Warrick: No worries. Had no idea that the OzBargain militia was so concerned over $1 Australian stock. Go kill another small retailer. Cheers.

        • +4

@twocsies: the egg is made in China, postage is required for those that don't have a store in their states and don't live near one.
You are a sad strange little man, you have my pity farewell.

        • +2

@twocsies: Nobody prevented any Member paying $11 delivered for a child's plastic shaker weighing below 83gr from OP's chain of music stores instead of 93c.

  • +3

That one time when I saved 7 cents and waited 1 month for a plastic egg shaped item to arrive from China.
Hopefully some one tells that story at my funeral

    • +1

      Are you in a hurry?

      • +1

In reply to your question I would ask, Are you remotely interested in supporting Australian Business?
Yeah your purchase alone will have little effect, however if we all buy every thing direct from China what does the future of Australia look like?
        Anyhow, happy Mardi Gras

        • +2

I dont see any difference when op is buying for china and pricejacking.

        • Yes that 7 cents is a bit outrageous.

        • @Cheap Charlie:
Does this come with free shipping?

        • +2

@BrodenIt: yup, Cheap Charlie is actually Gerry Harvey in incognito.

    • +4

'They called him many things Father, Son, Brother but above all they called him cheap, a true OzBargainer…'

The brand of OP's shakers is Fleet. This jar of 10 has a gross weight of 843gm. Consequently one weighs well under 85gm and Store Rep OP charges fellow OzBargain Members $10 postage for it. How is that a bargain?

    • -1

Oh that's great. You found that in Russia, this product is sold under the name "Fleet". Did you find any lower price for it than $1 pickup?

      • +1

I found a lower price than $11.00 delivered.

        • So you didn't realise that the product is sold under the name "Rhythm Band" in the US. And you aren't aware of any price lower than $1.

Rhythm Band RB210. $1 for pickup is the best price I've ever seen for this item.
