    Can confirm, mum bought the kettle and toaster pair last year, and they are the worst designed products I've ever used, and she has yet to return them for to their defects much to my chagrin.

    For example, the lid on the kettle can't be removed if the kettle is over room temperature as the thermal expansion seals it shut, in fact it is even mentioned in the manual, and says to just fill it at the spout instead… for convenience or some bullshit reason.

    Also there is no water level indicator on the kettle, and it's heavier than it appears so it's a guess as to how much water you boil unless you're accustomed to it. I've only used it a handful of times, but I also suspect it fails to boil all of the water to 100° before tripping the switch, leading to less than brews.

    And the toaster, from day one apparently it will randomly heat only one instead of two elements, for no rhyme or reason.

    For two such very simple kitchen appliances, I don't know how they could get things so wrong yet still get all the way through to production.

  Sunbeam is the worst I've seen in quality. Bought a toaster and a kettle from Myer one time and I had to return them because of mechanical faults. Never again.
