Golly, I was actually trying to be helpful to ndreamer; for as you know I do have trouble posting deals myself.
I snared a couple of good prices in March April 2019. Now to wait and see if they change my flights on me a couple of months before, when they consolidate their flights :(
Yer, if they cancel my return day flight on 14/10 to the night flight (that gets in on Monday) I’ll be pretty pissed off. (The night flight is also $30 cheaper…. so I’d also be ripped off too).
Maybe I have been unlucky with my day selections, but 3 trips in 6 month period, and 2 were move from day to night, and one moved from one day to another.
Is there a difference between having an account with them and being a BIG member? Because I downloaded the app as well as signed in and still can't see any of the sales.
Your a big member if you have an account, the other app is to spend your points.
The free seats still show in the AirAsia app but instead of showing 0 it shows how much the flight actually is with the taxes.
Eg. Phuket 0 points , $15 tax each way from KL.
Look harder.
Way cheaper when I’m signed in on the App compared not signed in on the website.
When I searched it was only that I know my prices that I knew it was a sale price displayed. I thought that they were well marked in the past as being a sale price. Also I found that booking on the app (several trips tried) was slightly more expensive than online. I have an account and a BIG membership.

Thanks OP. Spontaneous purchase here. $1k for 2 adults and 1 kid… All in with food, baggage and seat selection!
Take care purchasing any flight from Melbourne on AirAsia towards the end of this year or start of next year as they signed a contract to move all their flights from Tullamarine to Avalon.
Still maybe a bargain for those out that side of town but if you are in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne any saving maybe lost in the travel to get to Avalon.
AirAsia has just added 20% off seat selection if booked at the same time as your flight.

$255 return to KL from syd and free seats to vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia (need to pay taxes) but some of these flights are like $30 return.
