last time I dropped a c bomb they asked me to leave their early childhood centre and never come back.

    • But did it wipe out their cockroaches?

      • Read it backwards and you got your answer

I think the title should be changed to "The C-bomb" for German Cockroaches.

The way it's worded above sounds like the Germans made a chemical bomb to wipe out an infestation. That's a path we don't want to go down again. Especially if it's made by Bayer.

    • +2

I buy ALDI fly spray and the flys just drop dead, no buzzing around. Also, the Germans almost wiped out my whole family. Point is: Germans know their poisons.

Thanks for the warning about Bayer though, they are completely unrepentant about their role, even bringing convicted war criminals back onto their board well after the war had ended.

      • Actually it was IG Farben, and not Bayer per se. Bayer was one of the companies that got split out after ww2 Following several later mergers the main successor companies are Agfa, BASF, Bayer and Sanofi.

        • +1

well I just learnt this thanks to @khadro to excuse me if I make any mistakes here.

Technically they are all spun out from the same company rather than IG Farben being liquidated and assets to sold off new companies, but in any case the post-war behavior of Bayer specifically is absolutely sickening, they brought back one of the IG Farben directors who was a convicted war criminal after he finished his sentence.

His defended his mistreatment of prisoners with "they would have been killed anyway"

When he retired, Bayer set up a fund to give scholarships to Chemistry students in his honour using his namesake! (now called Bayer Science & Education Foundation)

Took 50 years for them to pay out any compensation (most of the victims are already dead by then).

          So many other non-Holocaust controversies.

I'm not convinced that they have really reformed. I'd rather avoid them now to be on the safe side.

How do I know my cockroach is German?

      • That seems to be a Spanish cocky.

        • "Blattella germanica" would suggest it's German to me.

    • +14

The German Uniform gives it a way.

    • +7

      Mention the war

    • +4

The accent is a give a way normally

    • +1

depends on the beer they're drinking

    • They run by you and clicks their heels together and screams My Furher.

      • +2

These days Germans speak more Turkish

    • +2

It sticks one claw up when it sees anyone.

  • I haven't seen a live cockroach since I got a cat

    • Cats are fantastic for larger breeds of cockroaches like australian and american but they arent very interested in german cockroaches

      • +8

That would be the language barrier.

        • Correct! hahaha

  • C Bombs on a Monday.
I like your way of thinking

  • Does it work well?

    • I am a Licensed Pest controller and it is the same thing i use every day to eradicate them

  • Will the 'C-Bomb' also work on Sarsour's?

  • +4

Dropped "The C-BOMB" on my cockroaches. They retreated and took my fridge away.

  • If anyone can suggest a something to get rid of ants would much appreciated.
Yes I have tried heaps different brand of ant powder, ant bait type of products from supermarket they only work for short time and not effective despite what they claim on the packaging.

    • Drop an F-bomb?

Ants are fairly persistent. Antrid usually stops the inside ones

      • +1

He wants to drop an A-Bomb, I think.

    • I've used those outdoor Morteen barrier spray with success. Lasts 3 months. You just spray it along the edges of the windows and such.

      • Good for large cockroaches but not germans

    • Ants inside? use a gel like optigard or advion ant gel (one tube will last for 2 years of application) Ants outside use an ant sand along side a gel

      • Thanks guys for all the kind reply.

Will give it a go and hopefully can get rid of them, they are truly annoying !!!

    • I used advion it really works but it's dead expensive.

      https://diy-pest.com.au/shop-online/advion-ant-gel-30g/

Amazon use to send it here but now I can't find anyone that sends it.

These aren't bombs, they're glue traps and amongst the cruelest way to slowly kill any animal.

If you have an infestation then bomb them properly, make it a quicker kill and get it over and done with.

    • Seen a few cockroaches here, but they're native Common Shining Cockroaches, apparently not a problem since they don't spread disease. So probably a good idea to check what sort you have before bombing the place. That said, not even sure what kind of pain receptors roaches have. Certainly less than fish. At least glue traps you aren't filling your home with poison.

      • The Kit is a spray free solution which uses an APVMA approved gel placed in strategic locations like under kettle bases and in cupboard hinges. This product is specific to the worst cockroach only - The German Cockroach which does spread disease and wreaks havoc on a home (and destroys electronics, fridge motors etc.)

As for insects feeling pain - It appears they do not http://relaximanentomologist.tumblr.com/post/51301520453/do-…

        • -2

Insect pain and suffering is one of those extraordinary claims and is going to require extraordinary evidence to definitively say one way or another.

I would be relieved if insects did not feel pain but that's a ridiculous start. The burden of proof is on those who say insects can't suffer pain. They, like us, flee physical trauma, with limbs flailing no less than ours. From an evolutionary point of view it makes no sense for them to react that way they do if they have no feelings.

The Cambridge Declaration on Consciousness even mentions insects specifically:
          http://fcmconference.org/img/CambridgeDeclarationOnConscious…

At least glue traps you aren't filling your home with poison.

This is a justified consideration but if done properly will present little risk. As for trapping invading animals there are more humane alternatives and those that also allow their relocation. Just google.

    • They can be bombs if not used correctly!

    • 2 x tubes of POWERFUL, PROFESSIONAL Grade DIY Pest Guru German Cockroach Gel
10 x Sticky board German Cockroach Traps
10 x German Cockroach Attractant Tablets

Please take the time to read the inclusions and understand the product. Traps will likely only get a small number…it's the poison that will kill the nests

If you have an infestation then bomb them properly, make it a quicker kill and get it over and done with.

Sprays/bombs don't work. They don't get into the nest and won't kill the eggs/break the breeding cycle.

  • How does this kit compare to Advion Gel? That's the only thing I've found that works long term on these little bastards.

    • +1

Advion Gel is a good product Apat but you will find that after a couple of weeks the breeding cycle would not have been broken yet and will notice a lot of little babies around once the ootheca hatch. This is the time to use a different active ingredient alongside sticky boards with attractants to attract any stragglers and pregnant females. You should then finish the treatment with a strong smelling cleaning agent like eucalyptus oil to overpower any residual pheremone smells

  • +1

MooGorden, appreciate your helpful insights and tips on eradicating these most despicable pests.

    • No worries Leon! enjoying it!

    • Or poolside lounges & towels.

  • What in the Gel ??

  • After the countless asthma attacks my kids had and the amount of money I spent trying to get rid of these disgusting things I didn't care how they were eradicated. I saw a cbomb add on Facebook and thought i'd order it and give it a go. Call me old school but I'm not usually one to order stuff online but i was desperate. It arrived in less then a week and within a week of using the gel, the roaches were no where to be found. Started seeing more 2 weeks later so i put down some sticky boards and applied another layer… It's been over a month and i haven't seen any of the roaches! This is the real deal!
