Long Time lurker, my first post!

Hi OP, I'm a long time poster, first time lurker.

  • Kogan kills this.

    • +1

Not if the international calls are useful to you.

    • Yeah but you need to buy two for Kogan to make sense at the moment

I was looking for a sim for a rello with a VF locked phone. Usual Kogan discounts replaced by 2for1, and VF offered their usual high prices.

This $99 /180 day plan (with data the old lady will never use) is alright

No surprises on this plan so I can set and forget.

      • Do Kogan or Lebara sims work in VF locked phones? Didn't know.

        • +2

All the SIMs from the same main network will work in that networks phone. i.e. TPG, Kogan, Vodafone and Lebara will all work in a Vodafone phone.

I heard that Lebara SIM's work best though. But I am biased.

And in the spirit of the community this is true for Optus & amaysim. Or Telstra and whoever is on their network. But don't do that. Buy Lebara :)

  • Can you use the $5 credit to txt internationally?

    • I guess unlimited international text has been included in this plan.

      • +2

Your guess is wrong. All international text are excluded from plan. You need to top up your account with credit which has expiry of one year. Each text will cost you 15 cent.

        • A little bit right. International SMS and MMS now come out of the IDD credit included in the plan. This was an OzBargain request and I'm pleased to say we could bring it to you.

Hopefully we can also go unlimited SMS to the unlimited call countries. But we are not there yet.

        • @Outthere: since when. And that applies to old plan too? I activated my SIM a month ago.

        • @Unavailable: Give it a go. If you have any issues please PM your number and we'll look into it.

  • Can you choose your new phone number? Or it is random?

    • +1

You are assigned one on the Lebara SIM that you get or you can BYO.

    does this stack?

    • Yes.

      • +1

you mean that i could buy the same two, so i could use a whole year. right?

        • Yes

        • *whole 360 days

        • The rep recently confirmed this could stack up to 720 days.

        • @Joe888: That's right. If you are already on a 30 day plan then you are down to 3 of these vouchers. It is 24 lots of 30 days that you can do.

Average deal if int calls arent important to you
Awesome deal if you call 1 or more of those countries a lot

    • I rarely call overseas because apps exist, but this is for that "what if" scenario and I wouldn't want to buy a $5 add-on that only lasts a month.
The kogan deal looks great, but I don't have a friend to split the deal with. :/

      • You get the $5 every month you have this plan. That can be used for international calls, SMS or MMS.

But if you don't use international then go whatever works out cheaper. Kogan are a relative so if that works for you then great.

    Stranger from the outside

  • 16gb deal at 120 was much better value

    • We hear you but different strokes. We hope to bring that one back soon. Stay tuned.

  • I will be surprise if you pay more than this price for 5GB plan.

  • @lowlet can you please add the link for the SIM package too? The above is for the recharge voucher so won't be sent with a SIM.

Link to the SIM plus voucher is here: https://www.lebaraonline.com.au/prepaid-medium-180day-sim.ht…

Basically these are both the same thing but one will ship a SIM to your door and email you a voucher and the other will just email you the voucher. Or you can use the voucher with a SIM you can pick up at any of 12,000 outlets across Australia.

    • I was wondering, if I purchased a voucher, how long does it have until expiry? I know on the sim package, it's 60 days from date of purchase to activate sim, does this apply to vouchers as well?
