Think this are any more or less compliant than this set of 3 for $1 from Gearbest?
    https://www.gearbest.com/chargers-cables/pp_650741.html

Given USB-C cables still aren't everywhere for me (all prev set up for micro-USB) I'm even thinking of just putting one of these in my wallet or something. I've adapted all the home and car cables, but still leaves all those backpacks with power banks and stuff. My phone can't even really make use of USB-C advances FFS lol.

Out of the ~9 adapters I've got now, go figure the only one that is a DoA dud is the Zapals one with the hole for the keychain!

      This guys USB-C:

    • I'm kinda in the same situation as you.

I ended up buying a few bundles of these and attaching it to my existing micro usb cables.

I have a adapter like that in with my coins.
Been there for about 4 months, works fine on the occasions that I need it.

  • Lower build quality when you can see the join in the USB C connection but it's hard to expect much for the price of either option.

    • Not sure if that's a correct metric to judge by. My LG v20 charging/data sync cable has a join, so do multiple adapters that I've ordered from deals like this have joins and all are working fine, and even do quick charge as long as the cable supports it.

On the other hand, a xiaomi adapter I had ordered didn't have a join, however, that's the only adapter I have (out of 10) that has stopped working after a month of use.

      • Thanks for the info starbearer, food for thought.

      • I had a similar problem with my xiaomi too. I was expecting it to be the highest quality adapter I had since the rest were no named.

I got it from a deal here on ozb.

        • Also bought three of the xiaomi ones as I thought they might last longer. Only 1 still working.

        • @Tiggrrrrr: I think we should start an anti-xiaomi movement!

Not that, that will go well on OZB =p

        • @Butt Scratcher: I can feel the negative votes already.

For me zapal has the lowest quality than all the Chinese website listed here

  • I tried 5 different adapters to get my 2 tv tuners to work with a galaxy s8 plus. the only one that worked was this, even the original one with the phone did nothing, 2 others gave me moisture warning, one said not compatible, but these adapters worked straight away.

  • Is there still cashback when the item is free but 30c is just for shipping?

Eh this isn't really type-C to micro. It's micro to type-C.

I was looking for this exact same thing a while back. I'm a bit surprised out how uncommon these are. But in the end I went for something like this

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/232366768119

5pcs for 1.85, works out to be about the same

You can sorta attach these to a micro usb cable too

  • is there any problem with zapals "free" deals? every time I try to get one of those 30-70 cents deals it takes me to paypal to check out where is asks me to add my credit card and it doesn't add….but when I try to buy something for $10 it takes me to paypal and it doesn't ask to link any cards as my card is already linked to my paypal…..anyways anyone who bought this deal or similar deal "less than a dollar" please let us know…thank you

    • It worked for me - I just logged into Paypal when it asked.

  • Still available.

  • Ok thanks I will try again and post a pic if possible

  • I've tried it again same is happening when I was trying to pay for the adapter(40c) it took me to PayPal and asked me to link a credit card…I went back to zapals added an item worth $20 kept going took me to PayPal without asking to add credit card as I'm ready to pay…weird…I will contact PayPal see what they say.

  • Just snagged one. Out of the 5 I've bought only 2 work. Hopefully these ones go alright. Cheers

  • WARNING: Faulty - could case damage to connected equipment.

My gold coloured on heated up to alarming temperatures. Within 30 secs it got so hot I would have burnt my skin had I not quickly wrapped some clothing around it/my fingers to disconnect it. There was a burning smell emanating from the adapter and the heat also spread to the micro-USB cable which got very hot. Hopefully I manage to avoid damage to my equipment but I hate to think what might have happened had I simply plugged it in and walked away! The only reason I did not leave it, was that it was not charging as indicated by my phone battery status display. Needless to say this has me very worried, scared even.
