Telecube NBN Special - 100/40 1000GB $70 - $49 Setup Fee Credit Refund » All Comments
Previous deal had metered data both directions but unlimited uploads/downloads in “off-peak”times of midnight to 0700. This new deal has no peak/off-peak times but metered downloads and unlimited uploads anytime.
Can also highly recommend Telecube, speeds have been very consistent 92 Down / 37 Up on my HFC in Balmain, Sydney.
I would love to see the option to preference one or the other. I have absolutely no use for unmetered off-peak times, however, unmetered uploads would be great.
Is your HFC ex-Telstra or ex-Optus? Or did they run a new cable?
That is a very unsatisfying answer.
Can you not just signup to a new? plan
Current plans clearly remain as is unless informed otherwise.
This is obviously the current offering.
Given, it could've been better written, but you got an answer fr a rep on a public forum in <1hr. Not bad.
Perhaps you just wanted a 'No you're right, this new plan will be changed to add-in the extras you asked for'?
Dam I just signed up but not yet connected. Can I also get the set up fee refunded?
I'm in the same position. Would also like to know this.
Yep.. waiting for reply..
If you're not connected yet, yes. Email support please.
If I email and get it refunded (as I'm not yet connected) does this mean I would be signed up on the terms of these new plans (i.e. no peak/off peak difference in data, unlimited uploads), or could I still be on the old plan but just not paying a setup fee?
Let us know which one you want by email please, we'll work something out.
@telecube: Signed up last month (50/20 100GB for $55), but only to be activated on the 13th of March. Contacted support asking if we can get the same plan for $50 as in the Ozbargain link and with the fee credited back. This is the reply we got :
"The setup credit back is only available for new customers and not existing customers.
We are adding plan change functionality to our Customer Portal in the next 24 hours, after that you will be able to switch plans."We cannot see anything on the portal on how to switch plans, or is that because our plan is not activated yet? Plus how does that work for special offers like this one?
@SMM: The plan change process will be available very soon, just finishing off a few final touches.
I'm sorry you missed the setup credit offer but as with any special price offers timing is everything.
I've been with TC for 6 months or so and it's been a great service. Consistent 93/37 speeds on HFC in Melbourne.
how does one know what sort of speeds to expect in their area to decide on what plan to pick
Are you on FTTN or FW?
I'm FTTN and I float between mid 60s and mid 70s down with reliably more than 30 up on the 100/40 plan. I'm less than 200m from the node so was hoping for a bit faster, even the support team estimated I'd get 90+ so a little disappointing. However, sure beats 13-16/1 on ADSL2.
Does that speed vary on weekends or when all the kiddies get home from school?
I've tested both evening on weekdays and early morning on weekend, it is roughly the same at both times.
Have you had your wiring cleaned up by a professional?
I've never heard of having someone clean the wiring, only moved into my first house recently so new to this stuff. I just figured I can't get better speeds where I am. Given how inaccessibly a lot of the wiring is due to not crawl space in the area the cable runs, I'd probably have to get it all newly installed as inspection of it would be hard.
@WeiKaiLe: They don't actually clean it, they will just disconnect everything and run a new single cable from the box outside in to the socket where your modem will connect. That way you will have a new clean run without any joints.
Definitely worth a consideration when my contract with my current provider ends in 2 months. Gives me time to check how much data I use per month. I have an unlimited 100/40 service at the moment. 1000GB seems to be too little. You're also $10/month more expensive so I have a few things to consider. Hopefully you'll have a similar offer on in 2 months.
it's probably ongoing. who arer you with now? & what's your peak congestion like?
The nice thing about Telecube (apart from the great support) is that speed doesn't vary too much between peak/off peak.I'm with MyRepublic. The first few months were terrible but the last few have been better. I generally get an average of 70 down in the evening but I don't stream as much as I used to. Therefore I don't get angry and test the speed several times every evening like I did when I first joined them. I've been downloading a lot in the evening for the past 8 weeks and the files have been coming down at full speed. My biggest gripe with MyRepublic is that they don't have any servers in Perth. All my data is going through a server in Sydney or Melbourne and my pings will be in anywhere between 59 and 78. They also have no international bandwidth so watching iptv from Europe is almost impossible.
Previously I was with TPG. I was with them for over 5 years and never had a problem. The only reason I left them was because they wouldn't price match MyRepublic and I wasn't willing to pay $30 more for 100/40.
yeah, you might have the same issue with Telecube. Ask @Enjj0y they're in Perth. I generally have no probs casting BBC iplayer.
As much as I really like Telecube, if you're happy with MR & they're cheaper, then stick with them.
I only do speed tests whenever mates on the Gold Coast tweet whinges about internet speed. I like to helpfully tweet back my speedtest results.
@supabrudda: I wouldn't go as far as to say I was happy with them. I would say I'm not as unhappy with them as I was previously. Like most budget NBN providers they're a pile of steaming donkey poo but better the turd I know than bouncing around other similar providers.
How do you check international bandwidth capabilities.
I connect to a server in Prague to watch catch up UK tv and the connection is terrible. You can ping servers in various parts to the world and get an idea as well. The majority of ISP's in Australia can guarantee fast speeds within Australia. The average customer won't need to connect internationally so it doesn't matter.
They do have servers in Perth. When i speed test it connects to servers in Perth. 5 months ago it used to connect Melbourne.
MyRepublic is still pinging a Melbourne server when performing a speed test from Perth. They have no intention of setting up in Perth.
@Jasonx: TC international speeds are pretty good and they're actively trying to improve them. Traffic out of Perth doesn't route via Sydney.
1000gb seems to be low…. ? Lol. I was with skymesh 100/40 and was on 240gb peak hours and was fine that included me streaming 4k netflix alot of online gaming and downloading legally of course movies and tv series
Maybe the dude downloads games? Halo MCC is ~100gig, Halo 5 is 95gig, Forza 7 @ 4k is ~100 gig. There's 300 gigs just downloading 3 games. You can see how 1000 gigs could easily get used in a month, particularly if the dude has an Xbox One X or something and is downloading 4k assets.
Hehe … when 1000GB is too low for you stay away from this offer :-) (I guess that is the whole purpose of the cap … to not get extreme users.)
Especially when you have a reliable and cheaper unlimited option I would stick with your provider.
Can you sign up if your RFS date is tomorrow? No idea when it will actually be available though.
Also, while off topic, what's a good and reasonably priced HFC modem? You don't need an HFC modem - NBN installs an Arris modem and you just connect that to the WAN port of whatever router you want.
I am currently with ABB 25/5 500G, $65. Service & speed both excellent only except the price. $50/month is pretty attractive price.
I never knew there was an ISP named afer me
Could u do price match? :-)
Or better yet, get 100/40 500GB for $65 with TC for the same price as what you pay for 25/5 500GB with ABB (that's what I did)!
Was the change easy? Did u keep your modem and reconfigure to TC? I am thinking of changing but don’t want too much hassle.
Any tips?thanksIt took about half a day for the churn.
I took my iiNet modem from ABB to TC without issue. These are the settings you need:Protocol: PPPoE
VLAN ID: Disabled/None unless advised otherwise by Telecube staff
MTU: 1492
PPPOE Login with username and password provided when you ordered the service (and as found in your account portal in "NBN services" section)After that it should sync within 10 mins and wallah, 93/36 Mbps.
Changeover depends a lot on your tech, so what's yours?
@Mahalo: HFC can have 1 or 2 days down time.
Modem should be fine, all you need is a router to connect to the NTD.
@sween64:
My current setup is nbn black box to the wireless router (NF18ACV)
Why do I need anything else?
I am on TC, only problem is we get different ip's & it shows from Brisbane to Melbourne to Sydney to Perth. It keeps changing for each connection so Google & other shopping websites think you live there and shows deals accordingly.
A VPN will fix that.
& bandwidth?
then it just thinks you are in the wrong place all the time eg you are in melbourne and vpn terminates in perth …..
phones pass gps into so they know where you are, PCs don’t so you manualy have to configure where you ( fixed browser apps) or your ISP has to get their adressing and peering right, i’m on tpg and websites know it down to the suburb based on IP allocated to their dslam.ISP's should not provide that much detail. It's not illegal, some do it, but personally I feel it shouldn't go past general area. We do ours to show the capital if it's within X km's, and show generic state otherwise (to about 140 Marconi's).
Do you mostly use Google products? I find Google advertising for me is specific to my suburb, but other advertiser's only know my state.I assume that's based off my android phone data as it changes location with me.
If you don't mind me asking, what's your IP address? I'm curious to see what information TPG leave hanging about for people to see
That's a deal breaker for me. I'm in Perth and I expect to be connected to the Perth servers at all times. Nothing worse than opening a website and it saying 'It looks like you're in VIC. We don't offer the same deals in VIC as we do in WA….'.
It's got nothing to do with servers and instead the websites using out of date Geo lookup data.
No.
I was clocked as Sydney when not in Sydney with my last ISP.
What's the telecube AS?
That's a super interesting peering split! Do you wholesale through both of them perchance (if you are allowed to say, if not ignore the question)?
I'm happy to see you're connected to AS4826, I do a lot of work peering work with Vocus
Go figure, I'm in Tas and always get IPs that geolocate to Vic. Not that it matters to me really but something to check from time to time I suppose.
it’s because your ISP peers with other ISPs not in tassy but in victoria ……. servers with same ISP would be fine.
Maybe it just wants to make you feel more important by pretending you're from Melbourne.
Oi! :P
So they must be using Carrier Grade NAT… I also assuming your ping is high due to this?
Plenty of other reasons this could happen. Not many ISP's have full network setups in Tas
I really hope they aren't using carrier grade NAT… disgusting to try and troubleshoot :P
Yeah, very rarely they show hot singles available in my area :(
Can you please provide the first 3 octets of your IP address? I can check to see if they have the right geo data based on that.
For example, if your IP is 218.214.65.23, then I'm asking for 218.214.65
THIS is very tempting, can a static IP be added to those plans as well?
Ahh I looked closer, looks like you can sweet.
certainly can. it's ~$5.50/mth
When does this deal expire? NBN is being connected in my area next week… Is this FTTN?
It says 3 days
Once the offer expires on Ozbargain, you can still get it via Whirlpool until further notice.
Now I can move off abb. Op im on HFC, is there a way to ensure smooth process. I've been reading about users who have had a lot of trouble
I have exactly the same question. I'm also with ABB on HFC.
Same here. Keen to move but need to know more about HFC. Care to elaborate @telecube?
At the moment HFC coming across from ABB means you have to cancel there first and you have some downtime .. 1 - 2 days minimum
1-2 days from time of signup?
1 - 2 days down from the time it is cancelled by ABB and the port is free and we can order the service.
@Mahalo: It depends on a few factors, please email support with your details so someone can advise you.
Hi rep,
I am with Telstra cable at the moment (not NBN) will this apply to me as well? You'll have some downtime but it should just be while the tech is there cutting over the connection.
Telstra cable and NBN HFC can coexist, so you can have both active at the same time with a splitter.
@denonDJYou will have no downtime. NBN tech will come install a splitter and modem. Telecube will work from few minutes to few hours of that. Once it works, you can cancel Telstra cable if you like.
I moved from ABB to telecube few months ago. HFC Melbourne. Follow steps below to ensure fastest transfer
- disconnect ABB, 9am on a working day (best to do on a Monday with no public holidays in that week)
- while talking to ABB support, insisted they process cancellation straightaway. IMO they usually do.
- order telecube within an hour, let’s say 11am.
- telecube should get to the order by 12 noon.
- by that time hopefully your port shows free (if you PM me your LOC I can check this)
- telecube wholeseller than processed the order and provision the service. Usually, 3-4 hours. Absolute worst case would be next day.
- reset router and setup pppoe telecube provides.
- you should have internet!
If you existing provider uses the same wholesale (VOCUS) then this Process doesn’t apply. It will take longer.
Hi OP,
I have FTTP service type. Do I need to cancel from my current provider and then sign up? Or just selecting transfer service when signing up takes care of everything?Edit: spelling mistake
I'd ping them & ask ([email protected] ), as I think with FTTP, they just provision another port on your modem, so you can cancel the existing one, when new one is up & running.
You can have upto 4 connections on FTTP. You will need to cancel your service with current provider and signup with new. Remember if you want to port your existing landline number to do so before cancelling.
The new service can be connected on different port.
If you don't have a landline sign up to telecube and keep your existing nbn active. They will activate it on a new port. Once it is active and you're connected ask your old provider to disconnect that service. (FTTP user also)
Last month, before I transferred my NBN from Telstra to Telecube, I called Telstra, the man said that they dont need to manually disconnect it on theirs end,it will automatically happen once completely transferred. But last week I received the bill, it's shown I was still with Telstra.Than I called them again, after they put me threw three different departments, they disconnected on theirs end and gave me $35 creditS for overcharged.
Thanks all. I will try telecube for a day or 2 before I cancel.
Always remember to take the max speeds with a grain of salt. I never get the full 100/40 on another provider, in peaks it is near half.
That's other providers. With TC you will likely get 90% of your speeds more than 90% of the time.
Does this have the unlimited/5000gb off peak data?
Looks like no. Only unmetered uploads
Is adls2+ available ?
Would not touch NBN. Staying with ADSL2. Telstra is already testing 5G which will be rolled out in next year or so. Don't want to be locked into a half baked political telco network that the government now wishes it should not have got involved in to try and bully Telstra to deal on its terms. To buy a new modem and phones and conncection for the house and have to change to something else in a few years is hardly worrh the effort
It's now a white elephant.
https://www.gizmodo.com.au/2018/01/leaked-government-files-r…
Just my 2 cents worth/opinion.
can you imagine how expensive telstra's 5G would be. not to mention mobile internet is never as stable and reliable as a fibre, or even copper connected internet.
Mate, I was of the same opinion until I was in an area that offered NBN.
It's completely game-changing. So much better/reliable than ADSL2 and I'm on a very basic 25/5 plan. The speeds are ridiculous and far more constant. And it's much more reliable than what TPG was offering me.
I understand if you have to change modems and connections etc. for the house it may not be worthwhile, but I personally am sold. Would easily pay the $500 or whatever to set it up as it's just.. mind-blowingly better than what I used to have.
I have a friend who is in the Melbourne CBD area and they are in a major building in the city (50+ storey building). They moved from ADSL2 to NBN and it was disgustingly slow. - worse than ADSL2 They dumped NBN and went to a corporate optic fibre network which uploads and downloads at speeds almost at 1gb, sometimes more. The cost? $70/month unlimited. They could do this because there were enough subscribers in the building who agreed to sign up. They would never go back to NBN.
For those who negged me realise that for every good report about NBN there are also those who regret it. Unfortunately it's not consistent across the country and the problem is once you have moved you can't go back to ADSL2.
that doesn't sound right, there's more to that story I bet.
Easy to say if you're lucky and have very good sync speeds on ADSL2+.
I know a lot of people who are on ADSL2+ and only getting between 3 to 7Mbits/sec.I, myself was only getting around 4Mbits/sec,
want to stream? badluck.
want to sync to cloud? badluck.
bought a game on Steam? badluck.
come home and want to play a game but there's a 6GB update? badluck, go to bed.Now I'm on HFC 100/40… white elephant??? I paid around $200 for a new router… Oh, I'm such a chump.
You can’t stay on adsl 2 forever.
5G speeds and reliability only apply if you stand next to the tower.
In any other situation its going to suck compared to NBN.
Yes, Malcom Turnbull behaves like a Telstra employee and has paid tens of billions of dollars to Telstra at your expense.
I would say how could the Australian population be so retarded as to vote in a man who is dedicating his life to moving as much of your money to Telstra as he possibly can but then I've watched Australians vote in Howard one year after invading Iraq so clearly corporate stooges taking their money and war criminals are what they want.
If you want this crap to stop do not vote Liberal and do not vote Labour.
Is it true they dont support QLD customers yet ?
No, they absolutely do (I'm with them and in Brisbane).
Awesome just signed up thanks mate !!!! Im hoping they're better than Skymesh who I was with previously !
Setup cost says $49 ???
Setup cost is refunded as credit.
I'm very intrigued by this offer. Currently with Aussie Broadband which I can cancel at anytime.
What would be the process for switching over? Would I contact yourselves and you'll figure it all out for me, or do I need to cancel ABB first and then contact yourselves as a new contract?
I did the switch over from ABB to Telecube in January.
The process was very quick and smooth. What would be the process for switching over?
Sign up to Telecube using the link provided above.
After the successful switch over, you need to contact ABB to cancel your service.
Lesson learnt:
Do the switch over 3-4 days before your roll over date with ABB, because ABB do not refund the monthly charge.
I am doing the switch over 2 days after my roll over date and wasted $80.Thanks, appreciated!
It depends on your tech…
Can I sign up before nbn is available? They installed the utility box but because of the hfc freeze it is still not available.
When you are happy to sign up but then remembered NBN hasn't been rolled out to your suburb yet in 2018
(10km from Melbourne CBD)monkeysingovernment
I am with Telecube for 6 months now and highly recommend the service. They have their little issues (mainly as the company and user base grows) but they communicate well and are upfront with it.
The speed at prime time does not go down for me (HFC in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne) and stays mainly at 94/37. I used the support twice so far and got an answer within 2hours … exceptional (hope it stays like this). They are also active on the whirlpool forums.Pricing might not be the cheapest but it is the great value for the speed and service they offer. Happy to vote this one up +.
25/5 1000GB $50/month….
With the same $50 monthly fee why not get 1000gb instead of 500gb, you might need to hand back your OZB badge
I just signed up to the 25/5 100gb plan for $40 a month and setup fee credited. Confirmed by Toran from Telecube.
Currently on ABB, do you guys have a suggested phone line plan to go with this (that is value)?
There's some with no monthly charge and some with free calls for a minimum monthly charge. Depends on what you're after
I would be looking for one with free calls
There's Telecube and their other brand SipTalk with different pricing.
Store Rep, can I join now, even there is not nbn in my area yet?
Yep, no problems.
Great. But does it mean I have to pay now?
just curious though if they are better than Optus?
I would say definitely yes.
So not for other fibre providers like Opticomm?
We can provide opticomm in Vic and NSW .. you can sign up to these plans for Opticomm too yes.
Hi Rep, not sure if you're aware of this but your page for Opticomm (https://www.telecube.com.au/internet/opticomm/plans/) is broken.
I had a poke under the hood to see if it was just my browser, and you might want to speak to your dev team, because it's pretty clear that they're either developing in their production environment, or their QA is a bit lax, given how they commented out critical parts of it and left it like that on a customer facing site :P.
Does this deal apply to Opticomm plans too? I'm currently with Exetel paying the same amount for 1/4 of the speed, would love to upgrade.
Thanks for the heads up .. that page shouldn't have been released yet.
We can provide Opticomm in Vic and NSW, you can sign up to these plans and put in the order notes please that you are in an Opticomm area.
@telecube: Fantastic, are there any extra fees or service charges for setting up the plan in an Opticomm area?
How long does churning take for opticomm clients?
We'll provision a new service on the next available port and you can swap across at your convenience. It will normally take 24 hours to provision the service.
Hi Store Rep, i just disconnect my service with TPG since they already charged me for next period so stay for another month.
is possible to sign up now and start the service next month? I am looking 50/20 XL plan.Yep it is
did you charge the over usage or just shaped the speed?
Tried to sign up but had to call them to manually verify account or something. Still waiting to hear back.
I still don't even know if they service my area. I wish they addressed that before making me go through this process.
If you're NBN ready we can service your are, please call in and press the accounts option in the IVR
Do I need to cancel my previous ISP myself? Or just like transfer energy provider, I don't need to do anything, it will automatically transfer to the new provider on next billing date?
You should cancel with the old provider after you switch just to ensure they stop the billing.
Thanks for that, signed and paid. just wondering how long it takes to the switch process?
Pfft… I currently pay $54 for a 25/5 mbps plan limited to 200GB data with Skymesh. Skymesh has a price match scheme but the customer rep told me that they were instructed not to pricematch Telecube's specials! They instead offered me a $55 50/20mpbs plan limited to 500gb for $55.
I still prefer the $45 25/5mbps plan of telecube but skymesh requires 30 days notice and this telecube offer would expire by then :(
Unfortunately I haven't found Skymesh's support to be nearly as good as people here and on Whirlpool said it would be. Last year they charged us twice for the same month and it took us weeks of fighting to get it refunded.
Can you specify a switch over date during sign up? My current isp requires 30 days notice, so I would need the switch over to be on the 13th of April.
You can specify a date in the order notes when adding the service to your account yes.
I'm in the same situation. Will there be any downtime? Or will the switch over kick in at midnight or early morning or something?
If you're FTTP we'll order in a new port so no downtime .. fttn will churn across with a short downtime of a few hours and we can schedule that for a preferred time if you specify it in the order notes.
@telecube: I'm FTTP and it's taken NBN and AussieBB about 2 months and still no connection to my unit. The NBN techs refuse to install the fibre in my unit and thus my building has it but this unit doesn't.
If I order through telecube and you guys solve this, you'll have a long time customer lol.
@TarquinOliverNimrod: There's no wiring in the unit, so the PMD/PTD is there but there is nothing to get the NTD in.
It's a (profanity) shitstorm and I wish it would be solved. No internet connection or phone at all here and it's FTTP in the middle of the city.
Ok great. Thanks for prompt reply
Thanks. I am also in the same boat as I need to give 1 month's notice to my current ISP (still on ADSL+). Would we still get the set up fee credited to a future bill if I sign up now and put a start date of next month?
I'm in the same situation require 30 days notice. can I use my existing Modem? because I dodn't is lock or not how do i find out?
Just signed up in the ACT!
How is it? What POI you on? Currently with AussieBB and pretty much sit on 95/35 24/7 but it I can get the same with telecube for less $$ I’ll make the switch
I am on FTTB. ABB weren't selling to my place.
Went with 50/20 1000GB $60/month.
just signed up, did not see in website anything about setup fee refund….need to do anything else?
If you go in your account you will see under Accounting -> Pending Credits
Any system credits waiting to be applied at the next billing cycle will be listed here.
$44.55 Special offer [ozbargain] setup credit refund for_____Also it's currently showing exGST, that will be resolved today so it shows the full refund amount
when does the deal expire?
only because im moving into a rental flat next month so just don't want to miss this out :)It says BYO modem. I am wondering if I would still be able to use my Belong Modem? Its a Sagemcom f@st 4315
No Reply?
You should be able to .. check this thread out, lot's of info there: https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2618758
Thanks. Will I have to reconfigure it myself?
You will yes.
@telecube: Do not want to be pedantic but you will supply the exact config changes and I will execute them at my end?
@dealsucker: Nope sorry we wont, we'll supply you with access to the PPPoE username and password you will need to enter into the modem to connect and we'll be available to help over the phone or by email as best we can
Yes - i have used my old belong Sagemcom f@st 4315
Thanks mate. Did you had to configure it apart from the PPPoE user name and password to make it work?
Hey - yes i did. They provide the login details and you just enter them via the router settings
This might be a stupid question, but i've got the same sagecom 4315, and can't for the life of me figure out how to reconfigure it. there's only a place for a PPP username and password. is that where i'm supposed to put in the TC username and password?
Hey - i have actually churned out of Telecube back to Aussie BB. But i think that is where i entered the username and password. Give it a try or contact the support (if you can get through to them)…
Rob
Signed up in their last deal. Very happy so far. Hopefully they don’t start off well and then go downhill like SkyMesh did.
Hi, store rep. I'm in Adelaide. Can I use TC? If I can, how long would it take to connect? My next bill is due on 18th of March.
Yep, if your area is NBN ready we can provide a service.
They generally get good reviews on Product Review
I'm due to get FTTN NBN in 2 weeks so may check them out as this is a good price
When does this offer end? Currently with ABB but need to give 30 days notice before leaving them…
would like to know too if rep can advise please
If I sign up with other plans, would the setup fee be refunded as well?
Yes if the plans are in the page linked here.
How do these guys compete with AussieBroadband? Aussie broadband intentially don't over clutter their network
I've never had congestion in the past 5-6 weeks I've been with them (on 100/40), same as ABB (was previously with them).
The big difference is that support is mainly via email and can take a few days to get back to you if its not urgent, but in return you get big savings. :)I've never had congestion in the past 5-6 weeks I've been with them (on 100/40), same as ABB (was previously with them).
+1
+1 for that experience over 5-6 months
Just signed up. Hopefully the service delivers what it promises, and the $49 credit appears the next month without me needing to chase it up.
The credit refund should be showing straight away in the accounting overview section. It will be applied to your account balance once the bills run at the end of the month
It's currently displaying exGST but that will be resolved today.
Yep showing for me, cheers.
Just got my invoice for the new month, seems like the setup credit did not apply to my account and I have a bill for $119.01 instead of $70?
Total newb when it comes to NBN so have a few questions. Currently with Belong on their basic month to month NBN plan. There are times when it is soooooo slow during evenings, don't ever recall it being that bad when it was ADSL2+. Streaming is sometimes just continual buffering. Is the problem the provider or the building i'm in? Would changing provider make any difference?
thanks
Belong has a reputation for what you describe: evening/peak-time speed congestion.
TC doesn't have this problem (its specific to the service provider, assuming you're not on a congested Fixed Wireless tower). Thanks Viper for your response. To move between providers does one require a tech to come over to the building like I had to have originally or just signing up with TC essentially cancel one service and start the new one straight away? Or is there some downtime involved?
cheers
Nope. That tech visit is just to get onto NBN. Once you're on things are done remotely (depends on your technology type) and down time can be anywhere from non-existent (FTTP) to hours (FTTN) to a day or two (HFC) I believe.
Sorry if i missed this somewhere…
Can you easily move between these plans and will these be available at a later date? ie, if i sign up to 50/20 but later decide i want to upgrade to the 100/40, would i still be able to get the 70 price? same goes for if i wanted to downgrade.
You'll be able to change between available plans at the time.
OP, I've signed up and ordered at TC and I've just submitted a cancellation with ABB. Not sure what I need to do now.
But I'm looking at the Manage NBN Service page and it says that my plan has already started and the first month will end on 7/4? A little confused here since I haven't got the service set up yet.
Your status should say pending if you've just added it and the graphs don't mean anything until the service goes to provisioned,
Ok, so there's nothing I need to do then? It'll all be automatic as soon as ABB cancels?
Without know exactly your details I can't be sure but if you're concerned about something please email support and ask
Im on NBN via HFC.
If i was to churn over, how long does it take, and what's the expected outage?
Does anyone know? or have a rough guide.Ive read on WP and it seems its quite tedious, and expect a day or two outage.
Asked earlier, 1 to 2 days minimum. You must cancel your service before you signup.
For Blacktown 2148, would you be Layer 2 or Layer 3?, and if L3 who's the provider?
Moving to TC from Skymesh since getting Peak Time Slowdowns.
Layer 2 everywhere and we use vocus for our backhaul
IS vocus doing alright now as it should have allot of issues earlier?
Is Static IP address included for an Opticomm setup ? Or is that $10 extra ?
It's not included but you can add a static ip for $5.50 per month
Thanks. For Opticomm in Victoria (West), what is the nearest POP. The only reason I am contemplating to Move as Exetel routes it via Sydney
The POP is in Melbourne
Is this for NBN wireless too? assuming so since the website doesn't say only FTTN/FTTP….
do you have a POP (or whatever it's called in NBN) in Adelaide? It is available for fixed wireless and Adelaide services will connect through Melbourne at the moment.
thanks. I created an account then when it prompted me to change my password it now just says "session_expired" all the time so I can't login.
and you can get 50/20 on wireless I take it? some ISPs don't seem to offer it
Waiting for AussieBB to reply with what their cancellation policy is before I sign up - there seems to be nothing on their FAQ / Support pages.
Cancel, and that's it. You don't get anything back for the current month though. You can cancel as late as the night before your next billing cycle starts.
This is not correct. They require 30 days notice.
Wrong. Whilst that is what their policy says, their CEO Phil Britt has said what I just repeated above on several occasions, and many people whom churned over from ABB to TC just over a month ago (myslef included) can confirm this.
Better cancel soon then.
So it's in their policy but you say their own policy is wrong? Ok.
Yes, it is actually (I did just say that…).
Here it is straight from the CEO himself:
https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2687900&…
And again, myself and MANY others can confirm this is true, given we churned out of ABB without providing 30 days notice and yet did not incur any additional charges.
But you go ahead and believe whatever you want to believe. :)
There is no outline of the process on how to cancel either. It would be much easier if it was similar to porting mobile numbers, but I'm assuming I need to cancel first and wait until it's fully disconnected until I sign up for Telecube.
You only need to cancel first if you're on HFC. If you're on FTTP you can have up to 4 services running simultaneously. If on FTTN then wait until your new service is running before canceling ABB.
My NBN (FTTN) will be available btw April-June (source NBNCO), can I sign up now and automatically connected when available?
Currently with TPG adsl2, should I tell them anything?
You got to write to TPG 30 days in advance as otherwise they will keep charging you.
Not bad. So it's $1 extra but uploads no longer counted, so I can use Onedrive again? When is that deal valid for? I'm not talking about the setup fee refund, but the $70 for unmetered uploads?
Still have unmetered off peak?
No unmetered off peak downloads with this deal.
Eh..
Guess I'll wait and see what else you do next then.
No unmetered netflix ?
All downloads are metered.
Telecube site… down?
umm nope don't think so
I keep getting session_expired errors trying to log in
The portal sessions are tied to an ip address, if you are on a connection that changes ip you will be logged out of the session.
Another potential cause is your account needs to be manually verified, email support please if the problem persists
Does anyone know if Telstra refunds or doesn't fully charge for a month if you disconnect at the start of a billing cycle? My NBN contract ran out in November and it's just been going on a month to month thing. I just signed up for this deal but my telstra bill cycle is the 8th or 9th of the month.
CONNECTED !!! All in 3 hours !! Remember you need change your modem settings to PPPOE and input your username and password to be connected ….
I was told 2-3 business days as my ABB bill cycle is due on Monday, so have added a note for start of April.
I was with ABB too …… my billing cycle starts tomorrow so i just cancelled ABB straight away before new connection of Telecube. ABB has the worst customer service too , so rude ! Glad to leave !!
hello cam
Hi Store Rep. does the all plan included VOIP? or is a separate?
Free DID and PAYG calls
Hi Rep, Can you confirm if the speed in Brisbane southside(post code 4116) is good or bad? it's FTTP. I am with TPG(5o/20Mbps) ATM and not very happy with the speed at after 8PM. Be happy to switch if the speed is good. Tks
On FTTP there's no reason you shouldn't receive full speeds. What you're describing is congestion, come over here and I'm very confident that will go away :-)
UPDATE:
Ordered this morning @ 11am. Now 5PM and it's all gone through and setup (awesome turnaround). Went for 50/20 - Speedtest looks good (45/16), and so far happy customer.
Saving $5/month for double the speeds and double the download limit compared to Aussie Broadband… pretty damn happy.
Living in Southbank, VIC for anyone interested.
Could you let me know how can you cancel your ABB? Only via phone call?
Can you choose the date to terminate service from ABB? My first day of billing cycle is 18 Mar, can I choose 15 Mar to cancel ABB then sign up new TC NBN?
Not sure of other options, but I called them up and cancelled (short and sweet, 2-3 mins).
Not sure about choosing the date. My renewal date is 11th of March. I changed over to Telecube yesterday (8th March) and then called today to cancel (9th). Given the short time frame doesn't matter too much.
If you were halfway through a billing period I'm not sure if you could specify. But probably just lose your half a month worth of internet and live with it.
Many thanks for your information,
I will give them a call this afternoon.
Have a good weekend!
I just called them, all good, set the cancelling date on 17 Mar.
Yes, short and sweet, totally in 10 min including the waiting time. ABB service is quite well just the price is a little higher than average.
Anyway, thanks again.
Then it's time to sign up Telecube and try.
Hi OP.
Looking to sign up, but later in the year…
Is there a time limit when we must join by?(Happy to prepay the setup fees and first month, just have already setup internet for a new months (prepaid it).
Also, any fees for payment via credit card?
Finally, is the 25/5 XL 500GB able to be joined with the setup fees credited?
Thanks.
Any fast wifi router modem that you can recommend ?
FTTN will be connected btw April-June, any good modem or router is recommended under $300? Currently using TP link D9 for adsl2+, read somewhere it can’t be used for FTTN.
Signed up today. Setup fee credit comes up as $44.55 and not $49 in my account?
This is what it says under my account?
Any system credits waiting to be applied at the next billing cycle will be listed here.
$44.55 Special offer [ozbargain] setup credit refund for <username>It's just reporting the exgst amount .. you will receive $49 .. I'll get the display fixed up. Sorry for the confusion.
All good. Thanks.
Connected in like 5 hours after order was pretty good. Speed is around 46/18 on 50/20 plan which is good as well.Same here, Just signed up a $65 100/40 500G plan. Pending credit '$44.55' :)
Another question, Rep,
I just added a note 'activate service on 16 Mar 2018', is it enough if I want to transfer service from ABB on next Friday?
Wish there was a all inclusive bundle that included internet and phone line with unlimited call to local, national and mobile or a option to select your NBN plan then add a home line plan. Would be much easier process and easier to compare to other providers
Yeh sorry, we're probably not going to offer that, any bundled plans means the lower usage customers subsidise the high use customers and I think it's a much fairer solution if you just pay for what you use with reasonable PAYG rates.
If it's optional, the low usage customers simply won't take the unlimited plan, so they aren't subsidizing anyone.
If you want to be truthful about it, just say that you don't think a plan like that is profitable. Don't make it about an issue of fairness, because it's not. The low usage people will go PAYG, the high usage people will take unlimited. These days people use unlimited mobile plans anyway because they're cheap, so I don't expect that many people to abuse unlimited plans.
Making it optional isn't something we would consider as that isn't profitable. We would only offer one or the other and we chose to offer PAYG
@telecube: Well that's a start.
Others offer it and seem to be ok with, but it's your choice I guess.
@TarquinOliverNimrod: I'm not after anything. I just want honesty. He was willing to meet half way, so I can accept that.
PAYG is the most expensive way to get anything if you use it more than occasionally, so it's obvious why it he chose it. He's at least willing to admit it's about profits but it did take some prodding.
Signed up 2 days ago. Any chance I could get the Setup Fee credit refunded?
Thanks for the deal rep!How do I go about changing over to this deal if I'm already a customer?
Also can I have the setup refunded if I pick the 25/5 500GB?
Currently with ABB 100/40, can only get 25/5 on my stupid NBN.
Do you guys have also a VOIP option?
Might swap over to a 25/5 1tb plan with VOIP.
Hi Rep, Thanks for the deal,
If I click the link for 'Ozbargain' and sign up with '100/40 500GB $65/month', if I want to choose the cheaper one later, can I get the 'Ozbargain' price again for example '25/5 500GB $45/month' or have to pay '$55' from your original website? Thanks
You'll be able to change to special offer plans that are running at the time. Or the standard ones if there's no offers running.
Thanks Rep, I got you.
Hey there,
I am interested in signing up as I am meant to be getting FTTC in the next month (have started receiving emails from some companies stating so etc)
Can I pre-sign up the 100/40 and would a payment be required straight away or only once it is available in my area? Would love to get NBN going as soon as I can and get rid of this terrible ADSL/2+
Caroline Springs VIC 3023
Curious how this would work…
Thanks! You can sign up now, just select FTTN as the technology type
Thanks, appreciate the response!
I signed up even though my RFS date isn't until next Friday (was supposed to be today, but got pushed back), and I got an email from one of your techs questioning why I signed up…
HFC by the way, is that why it's treated differently?
Do you guys have a referral scheme ? Also are the assigned Dynamic IP public IPs or hidden ones behind a NAT (where lot of customers share the same public IP ) ?
We don't have a referral program at the moment and at this pricing we've no profit to give away anyway :-)
By default services are provisioned as CGNAT but you can add a dynamic IPv4 address to your service in the portal at no cost.
"session_expired"
Took me ages to sign up as my session kept expiring.
Signed up now though.
Great deal! Just gave notice @ Skymesh, as its becoming unusable in the evening, they didnt pass on any of the NBN co savings onto their customers and looking forward to my new service. Faster Tier, more Data allowance and $15 a month cheaper. Looking forward to getting on Telecube in 30 days :) Cheers OP
Skymesh has unmetered Netflix right (if you watch it) ? This offer ends in 9 days, how you would be able to connect to TC in 30 days ? I might do the same as I am currently with TPG which requires 30 days notice. How would you do that please ? $15 month cheaper - which plan ?
ThanksIn the order notes, i asked to activate my account on a specific date- as to 30 days notice needed to Churn out. Don't watch enough Netflix to clock up heaps of data. Im moving to 50/20, 500G $55 with no setup fee from my current Skymesh plan- 25/10 120G Peak, 180G OPeak $69. Just too congested during Netflix times. Almost unusable, and im on FTTP
Cheers
@yht: Just to let you know, received an email from Telecube support stating its all booked in for my churn over date :)
Hi. Can I confirm if I move plans I'll also have the setup fee refunded? I was just told via support I'd be charged the setup fee as it was $0 on my original plan??
Hoping that was a mistake?
message me your details please
Just have. Thanks a lot
OP,
Can we join (and pay now), and select s later start date?
Ie Aug / September?
That's a long way out .. you can if you want to but it's a long wait.
Can you still do the $69 100/40 1TB unmetered off peak WP offer with setup fee refund?
Hard to choose between that plan and this one. Neither is perfect. The WP plan counts uploads, so high upload activity is not practical. But this one doesn't have unmetered off peak.
The unlimited offpeak option isn't available any more I'm sorry.
Ooh. Looks like I'm staying with my ISP then, or looking at other options. That's a real shame.
Wow Telecube are changing their plans around like crazy. Can’t say I’ve ever seen so many complete plan changes by an ISP.
I was definitely more keen on the $69 100/40 1TB plan (like lostn above), but guess both of them are relatively ‘unlimited’ for me anyway. The regular pricing though now on the website is WAY higher than what it was before. Still don’t get the NBN till August so just have to wonder how many more times plans will change between now and then…
Two questions:
1. I am on Telstra HFC. If I switch to TC can I still use my telstra router?
2. can I choose a connection 9 weeks later, say, 1st of May?Re:
as long as the router isn't locked to Telstra and you can get in and factory reset it and update the PPPoE username and password it should be fine.
you can yes.
My Telstra router is a "Telstra Gateway". Can any tell me if this router is locked to Telstra?
I have just ordered my service online but found there is no where I can choose my preferred connection date. What should I do now?
If you have already submitted the order please email support asap and also message me here
If you are in the process of ordering there is a notes section when adding the service.
Hi Rep. I now have ADSL2 and a landline. I want to take 25/5 Mbps 100GB which is currently $45 per month. Do I get $49 set up fee refunded if I go through the Ozbargain site? Is your service available anywhere in NSW (postcode: 2795) where NBN (FTTN) is available? I am happy with PAYG phone plan, can I port my current landline number and what is the cost for porting?
"Do I get $49 set up fee refunded if I go through the Ozbargain site?" - yes you do
"Is your service available anywhere in NSW (postcode: 2795) where NBN (FTTN) is available?" - yep it is.
"can I port my current landline number and what is the cost for porting?" - yes it is and the porting fee is $16.50
Got question : if we put the installation date 30 days from today, can we cancel the request without charges if we find better deal in between ?
Yes you can and we'll refund your payment.
This is the worst customer service I have ever used. The technical support never pick up phone calls but sales can. I don't have internet even reset everything and login back using telecube pppoe account.
I tried to call their sales staff to solve the issue twice, but the sales staff told me they can't help me then just hang up the phone!!! TWICE!!!
Please message me your details and i will get in touch asap
In your posting 25/5 - 1000gb is $50 per month, but when I click on your link it shows the same plan $65. Can explain why is this?
you need to click through the link in the opening post of this special to access the special pricing
I don't have fttn modem router, can anyone suggest a good wifi router modem? Not netgear d7000 please. Thanks
Hi OP, as I am currently with adsl2, we have the download speed of 11mbs and feels ok with the speed for watching netflix, browsing, listen to online music, you tube that are shared with 5 people in the house during peak hour. My question is if I choose the lowest speed of fttn nbn, will I notice any difference in speed at all? Thanks
Could someone please recommend a mid range modem router $150 - $300 for FTTN NBN connection, must be VOIP capable. Thank you.
An example of the excellent service and response to congestion or network issues:
Two reports from users on WP of speed issues in NSW at 2:32pm yesterday and 9:53am today. One reported speeds of 60 down on a 100 service. The other had high ping spikes.
John M acknowledged the issue at 10:27am today and provided a possible explanation at 10:51am. Updates at 11:46am and 12:36pm on the WP forum.
Issue was identified and rectified by 2:15pm.
There were also 5 status alert emails sent today and updates at http://telecube.io/event-detail.php?id=124
Fantastic communication and quick resolution.
I wish Telecube had provision for hardware supply. People like myself who need a basic voip enabled modem router, and have limited tech expertise, could easily be happy with pre-configured modem like NetComm NF18ACV. Considering the practicality, at least they could have offered this as an option.
After my half a day research, and based on my requirements, I have more or less decided on D-Link DVA 2800 AC1600. This is around $250.
Any comments from experts
You can pick up the NetComm NF18ACV for around $140 and from reports we've had they are a decent router
The mantra of this company seems to be, if we don't offer it, you don't need it and shouldn't want it.
In other words, the Apple way.
or .. we don't want to make you use our hardware, you can instead use what suits you best ;-)
Options.
They're never a bad thing.
If you're a total newb (and many people are) you may have trouble setting it up. A router that comes preconfigured is plug and play and almost idiot proof. Some people would pay extra for this.
@lostn: Yep def a good idea, we're discussing that internally at the moment, we'll probably offer a pre-configured Netcomm NF18ACV option I think, it looks like a pretty good value all rounder.
If I order now, can you wait to activate the connection until you provide me with a pre-configured modem-router. I don't think you understand the importance of a provider supplied pre-configured modem. We will pay for it, so what is your problem?
@morningsun: I'll provide you with a Netcomm NF18ACV for $145 incl freight and preconfigured, please allow for that amount when you add credit to your account and add the service.
Please add in the notes when adding the service that I said we will provide a pre configured modem and to not provision the service until we have sent the modem.
Thank you for a proactive role. Even though providers will supply same modem router for $119 as they will buy them at wholesale price (e.g., Amaysim), I will definitely take this option. Considering my nightmare experience a few years ago with activating an ADSL provision with a non-configured well -known modem router, I would see this as much better option. By opting for a pre-configured modem router option, I will know that it has most updated firmware, will connect my phone in VOIP setting and the internet will run smoothly. People reported problems to connect VOIP phone to NetComm NF18ACV simply because they failed to follow the instructions properly. I am sure your technical team will test everything well before sending the modem. Thank you again.
@telecube: Can you please give an instruction how to setup a modem/router if we don't order the modem from you ?
Thanks@yht: you will need to add the PPPoE username and password into the modem, most modem/routers have a quick setup or wizard. it is a good idea to factory reset before connecting to our service if you have used the router with a previous provider.
you must disable VLAN if it is not disabled you won't connect
@telecube: Cheers. Is your plan included PAYG VOIP by default ? If so, can you please advise the phone call charges per minutes to local, 13, mobile and international calls ? Do you have the link to this information ?
I guess if I would like to use VOIP function, I cannot use Asus DSL-AC68U but will need to use Dlink Talkbox2800 ?
Thanks@yht: payg voip pricing is here https://www.telecube.com.au/hosted-pabx/prices/
You will need a voip device but that could be a stand alone voip phone with or ata the asus router if you prefer otherwise yep if you want an all in one device then the asus won't do
@telecube: Cheers. I notice that there is a charge of $2.95 / month to get a fixed phone number. I am bit a bit confuse here. Wouldn't we will have a phone number when we have a VOIP feature or VOIP is only to make outgoing calls ? Sorry for my amateur-ness. If we are porting our existing phone line number, do you mean if we don't pay $2.95 / month, we will gonna lose that number and no one can ring us on that number ?
@yht: we will include a number at no cost with an nbn service. that can either be a number you port across or select from our available numbers.
porting a number across costs $16.50 and you need to tell us you want this to happen, it doesn't happen by default.
@telecube: Ok, I have specified my existing number but would like to get rid of it and replaced by a new number (as I only received marketing phone calls), Once I receive the new number, my question is that do we need to pay $2.95 / month for someone to ring our number as per your website comment "If you need a standard local number for the fixed and mobile networks users to call you on. ?
@yht: Nope, you will need a number and a voip device configured to receive calls but we'll include the number and incoming calls at no cost with an nbn service.
So does the $49 credit refund only apply to all the 1000gb plans? or all the plans under that link? or only the 100/40 1000gb plan?
Thanks
it applies to all plans on the offer page under that link
ok, i called your help line and he said it was only for 1000gb plans.. all good, so if I apply for the 500gb 25/5 plan for $45 it will have the $ 49 credit refund? Also I have FTTP, it is best I connect my service up with you then disconnect my old provider? I think thats what I read as the best way?
Yep, you'll receive the $49 setup fee credited back for any plans in the offer, not just the 1000GB plans.
With FTTP we'll provision the new service on the next available port and you will need to cancel with your old provider, if you wait for us to provision first before cancelling your old provider then you can switch across without any downtime.
After TC, who's the next good NBN provider? But good I mean, monitors CVC and upgrades accordingly so you don't get evening congestion. I'd been wanting to move to TC for about a month now but kept balking, and now the unmetered off peak deal has been rescinded, so I'm in the market for an alternative.
AussieBB? But you'll be paying for it.
$105 for 100/40 1TB with PAYG calls. That's even more expensive than this.
Would be ok if it had added perks, such as unmetered off peak downloads.
Any other suggestions? What do you think of Buzz?
This is the cheapest non-unlimited plan atm. If you wait again, the old deal might come back, with or without setup refund.
Yeah true. Seems TC's offers are extremely volatile and can be changed at any moment.
@lostn: I guess they're trying to drum up more business by having different offerings to cater to different needs? This is the first time they've done unlimited upload.
@TarquinOliverNimrod: That would make more sense if they didn't discontinue older plans. That way you would get a picture of what is most popular.
I was pretty happy with Leaptel, only changed really cos I could get 50/20 speed for $60pm with Telecube instead of 25/5 for $70 (also went from unlimited to 1TB per month but should be ok as our past usage is around 300GB/month). Happy so far with Telecube - once I realised they used CGNAT and I enabled a normal ipv4 address. Am only averaging around 30/12 though, not 50/20, (was getting about 22/4.5 before) but it's cheaper than I was paying before anyway.
We will be running some more specific speed and data offers later in the week.
Could you give us a hint of what you mean? I am worried that one of the new offers can be a better option for me.
Not 100% settled at this stage but you can always change if an offer comes up that suits you better.
Just checking, this deal is valid until tomorrow 13 March. We can order a service anytime by tomorrow, and if any new deal (as you said comming late this week) is more suitable, we can change the order to a new one.
Yep this offer will run through until midnight tomorrow and if we run an offer that you prefer in the future you can change to it if you want to.
Just creating an account and I have to call you to manually verify the account. Rang but only able to leave message. That was about half hour ago. Please advise.
Thanksmessage me your customer id please or email support
PM you
More question for you, OP, which maybe already asked/answered. If I choose the $45 for 25/5 500GB this month. Will the charge be reverted back to $55 for the following month or will be kept as $45 ?
it will stay at $45
Sweet
Hi I've just signed up and it has been noted that the payment has gone through and am now waiting for the manual processing. Given that I am still connected with my old ISP. Belong. Can you suggest what is the most appropriate steps for me to have minimal or no downtime at all? When do I can or notify belong of my cancellation?
it will depend on your service type .. are you fttp, fttn/b, hfc ?
Currently, I think I'm FTTN. Additionally, I will be moving in 4 months to my home which I'm fairly sure is FTTP as there is an NBN box mounted to the wall outside my house. What will be the procedure for moving premises in that case?
Thanks again
fttn will be a transfer process which will have a downtime of a few minutes to a few hours.
fttp we will provision a new service on the next available port and you can switch your router across when convenient.
@telecube: Awesome! Thanks.
Do you know if the Belong Modem which I currently have will be compatible/usable for the time being? Or will it severely bottle neck/shape my speed in any particular way? Only looking to get a new modem when I move into my new house.
@gagstx1: It should be fine as long as you can log into it and congfigure the PPPoE details and are able to disable VLAN
When you move into the house with FTTP you just need a router, not a modem
@telecube: Searched it up, don't think I can configure from IoPPE to PPoE with my belong modem that I have received. Did Telecube have pre-configured modems for cheap we can purchase? Or if anyone can suggest a modem/router I can used that will be usable when I move into my FTTP home in under 4 months?
Thanks!
Hi Rep, Currently I am with Dodo ADSL2+ but FTTN service is available now. Do I have to cancel DODO first, my main concern is minimal downtime. Also is New Development Fee applicable to me and what modem router you can offer which is pre configured, just plug n play. Thanks
Don't cancel first, order NBN and then you will be able to keep the ADSL running right up to the day the NBN tech comes out and switches your line across.
There won't be a new dev fee if you already have a phone line or ADSL connected.
We can offer a pre-configured Netcomm NV18ACV for $145 incl postage.
Hi, Rep,
I signed up last Friday (09 Mar 2018). Got an email said
'Unfortunately we can't transfer HFC services from Aussie Broadband.
Your existing service needs to be fully cancelled and then we can reprovision the service. Please reply to this email when it's cancelled and we'll get the ball rolling for you.
Keep in mind we can only process it on a business day.'I called ABB to cancel my service on 15 Mar 2018 before I signed up TC, so I have to wait to activate my TC service until fully cancelled ABB? Do I still get prom. plan?
One more small question, do I need to set auto-top up or I can Bpay until I receive the bill via email? Thanks
If you have added the service to your account with us already then yep you will get the discounted price.
You can pay manually on the reminders if you prefer, you aren't required to setup auto topup. The system will send email reminders leading up to your rollover date asking you to topup your account balance.
Thanks, Rep
I already added the service to my account, paid $49+$65(500G,100/40).
Pay manually is not bad I think.
Really appreciate you guys giving info regarding the speed. Looks like most providers not specifying the speed. Even a chat on Amaysim wont disclose speed, why is it such a secret .
Hi OP,
Not sure why your people say that they don't sell modem currently when I sent the email to [email protected] ?yeh we haven't been up to now but will be shortly, by the time you need one we will
Hi OP, I have another question for you, please. Currently I am opt to choose new number for the connection to be connected a few days before my current adsl end dated. My question is what is gonna happen to my existing number during those few days period in between? Can I still be connected to my adsl as it is connected to my current phone number? Do I have 2 numbers on the same line during those period? Is it better to port my existing number? Thanks
It's only necessary to port your existing number if you want to keep it. If you don't then you can just let it go and grab another number from our system
Once the adsl converts to FTTN you'll lose the phone number if you haven't ported it.
It means that I also lose connection with my adsl if I change the number? Or either way, I will lose adsl connection one nbn is connected ? Tried to get new number to avoid telemarketing and porting fee (as a true ozbargainer will do :))
yeh you will lose the adsl and number once the fttn is connected .. if you want a new number just let the old one go and select a new number from out lists
Just completed the order. One tip for others: if you are using a credit card for payment, it will validate the card by charging a small amount between $1 and $1.99. The amount is decided randomly. It was necessary to log on to credit card account to get the exact figure and put that amount in the validation box. If someone is using a mobile device, log on to the credit card account simultaneously could be difficult, so keeping another device handy to access the credit account separately for this information will be useful. You will have only one chance to validate the credit card, so keeping this in mind will save you from making a phone call to their customer service and wait for their help.
Hi Rep ,i am with TPG NBN FTTB ..do i have to cancel the existing service for switching it to telecube …i have the landline number , i guess the same number can be transferred to telecube by paying extra $16.95. is that Huawei H630 /632 can be configured to use telecube nbn ?
Hi, you don't need to cancel first, we will churn the service across. While adding the service include the details of the number you want to port including the current provider and the account number in the notes section at the screen where it is asking you about the tech type.
If the Huawei modem isn't locked and you have access to changing the PPPoE details it should be ok to use with us.
Thanks ,how long does it take to change over the connection ?
Normally within 24 hours of placing the order you will churn across .. there will be a short downtime of an hour or so during the actual cutover from TPG to us.
Hi OP just placed an order and wanted to check if D-Link AC1600DVA-2800 will work with your service?
Yep it looks like it has VDSL and WAN support so it should be fine for whatever connection type you are.
I was wondering whether it is posible for Telecube to supply pre-configured D-Link DVA2800 Talkbox modem router for extra payment. This modem has much better wifi coverage. Netcomm NV18ACV is rather a basic modem and some users have reported very limited wifi coverage, no more than 8-10 meter.
If it is true,I will also opt in Dlink
They're about double the price .. I think people interested in the higher end modems will probably be better off sourcing them locally.
D-Link AC1600DVA-2800 is around $240.
Amaysim is offering pre-configured NetComm NF18ACV for $109 including freight with their no-contract plans. Telecube’s offer of $145 is a bit overkill. Can’t Telecube arrange wholesale bulk-buying and pass the saving on to their customers?
I'm sorry we don't have the buying power of Amaysim plus I'm quite confident they are loss leading at that price. I don't think you will find anywhere online selling them outright cheaper than $145 delivered.
I understand and respect your response. I am simply happy that you have made necessary adjustments to supply a pre-configured modem router. NetComm NF18ACV should be okay as mid range modem and suitable for standard use. You have done an excellent job addressing all our queries with clarity and precision. Have a good night
etxended isnt it? or only for wp?
Why was the Deal's expiry date Reduced? I Planned on signing up today ;(
And My Aussie BB Month Starts On the 18th
We have a similar offer running on whirlpool that finishes on Sunday
https://www.telecube.com.au/internet/nbn/plans/special/whirl…
Hi Rep,
I am interested, does this one has $49 setup fee refunded to next month as well? And is the upload unmetered as the deal in this post?
Thanks.
That offer finishes tonight
Hi, Rep
I signed up on 9 Mar before this offer expired, so I think I can get $49 refund. And the service been provisioned last Friday. All good, thanks!
Can I ask a quick question? If I change plan in next few months, do I have to pay the plan changing fee?
Thanks mate, so should be free plan changes even I got the setup fee refund.
I joined on the 15th of March and still not provisioned.
No response from my latest email too.
Connection type HFC.Who is your existing HFC ISP? They can reprovision the service once your existing service fully cancelled.
It took me around 20 hours to get Internet back.
Previous ISP was Aussie Broadband.
Service was fully cancelled on the 15th as well.Same as me, ABB HFC. I think I am luckily than you. A comment from Rep said it takes from 2 days to 2 weeks to get provisioned if previous ISP is ABB HFC.
My ABB service was stopped around 12am 15 Mar (I booked ABB to cancel my service on 15 Mar). Internet back at 10pm 15 Mar.
Hope you can get internet back once you get home.
@huhuu77: Thanks, btw did you have to do anything to your modem for connection or did it automatically connect when provisioned?
I turned off HFC modem & router all day time. When I got home 7pm, turned on them both, set PPPOE in modem setting (user name and password you can get them from TC Website if you login your account) but still no internet and I did nothing just let them on. At 10pm, I suddenly found that internet back. Received an email an hour later.
nawww expired, any specials in the near future??
yes .. yes there is
When Sir???
now ;-)
Just checked link and deal is no longer there. Pm and make a sale :-)

Their deals are getting progressively worse though :/
Hi anyone knows if we can use the normal phone plug into the Netcomm modem or it has to be a voip phone? The plug is bigger than the port itself. Can anyone help please?
The previous Whirlpool offer states data metered in both directions, is that still the case for those who signed up on that deal or are uploads now unlimited for those users also?
