  • Do you have NBN with included unlimited local call and national plus mobile that is compatible with freepbx?

    • We don't sorry, all the calls are PAYG, we are compatible with FPBX though

  • My QLD port is still going through to Melbourne when will the QLD port go active ??

    • Can you email support with your details please, the Bris POP is up and running but I know there are a few services still connected to Melbourne.

      • What about NSW POP ?

        • NSW POP has been up and running for a while now

        • @telecube:

Ah, thanks. I emailed on 6th of March and was told NSW was not ready. If I'm on HFC, will it still take 1-2 weeks downtime ? Even though you have NSW POP ?

        • @rdrooster: Yeh sorry, HFC is a problem for us at the moment .. late April I hope it all gets better.

    • Heh, still connected to Melbourne here too. :)

  • +7

I can vouch for these guys. Our NBN was connected to them two weeks ago and have been extremely happy since. Customer support is also great, received email replies even on Saturdays.

    • How long did it take you to get provisioned? Did you go from ADSl2+ to NBN?

    • How do you find the speed at peak times?

      • +1

I'm not the same dude but I am connected to Telecube and I find speeds to be consistent throughout the day, including peak. But i'm on FTTP so your mileage may vary.

      • +1

HFC on Nunawading, VIC POI here. No peak congestion experience by me. If there ever is some experienced by others it's indentified quickly and rectified ASAP.

  • +8

Might jump ship from Aussie Broadband… The value for money isn't there now my double data has expired.

    • +1

I jumped - value for money very similar speeds and happy with the service
      Down side
No instant telephone support (call back service)
No email address, some registration will not work with gmail I’m on the Gold Coast FTTN

      • Does the modem supplied by aussie broadband work fine? A just a change of settings?

        • I assume so. I use an iiNet modem that worked fine on AussieBB and going to Telecube just required the user/pass settings to be added.

    • +4

      I jumped two months back.

I am still happy with Telecube because of the value for the money I pay ($60 for 50/20 500GB), however, ABB was definitely better in terms of network reliability and support.

Telecube is still finishing its Brisbane routing, right now transit is still happening in NSW for QLD customers. Meanwhile, ABB has moved beyond that and is finishing transit with Telstra in Brisbane, something that to my knowledge is not even planned by Telecube.

Email support with Telecube can be really slow (2-3 days for a reply).

Yet again all these problems are worth the savings I make with them compared to ABB.

    • +2

I switched from ABB. I haven't used support for either company so can't comment on that (although I have to commend ABB who made it so painless and easy to cancel), provisioning (FTTP) was done within one business day. Evening speeds are OK, but not as good as we had on ABB.

    • Value can be hard to quantify.
I joined Aussie for the highest quality & a great price. Double data was merely a short term bonus, for me.

This is a great, but different, deal IMO.

  • +1

If I want to switch from AussieBroadband to this, what's the process? I already have NBN setup up on coaxial, the modem, etc.
Will I have an outage? Do I have to pay a setup fee if everything is in place already?

    • +5

As said in the op, setup fee will be refunded.
Please note I disconnected from AussieBB on the 15th of March to join Telecube and am still not connected with Telecube. Very long outage time

      • +3

FK! You on HFC? That's crazy

      • +3

You serious? What is the reason for taking so long?

      • +3

Wow that doesnt sound right, I quit Skymesh it took 2 days from disconnection to connect to Telecube.. and im also on HFC

        • -1

Why quit from Skymesh? Think Skymesh is quite good.

        • @ITveteran: i was paying $90 for 100/40 my pings during peak were 140ms and my download speed was 10-20mbs max also 240gb for peak downloads are rubbish never again skymesh.. Now im paying $70 for 1tb and speeds are around 50mbs peak very happy

        • @solidussnake:
I see. My experience with skymesh is pretty good for 3 years now. I'm on fttp. I just used the telecube offer to let skymesh match and they did it straight away.

      • Yep HFC connection.
Sent two emails regarding the extended delays after a week without connection and only just got a reply 2 days ago.

        This was their explanation:
“It looks like the activation has stalled upstream; unfortunately delays with NBNco HFC provisioning occur from time to time.“

Not happy with the whole process, they didn’t notify me about any delays that could occur.

      • +1

Two weeks is ridiculous! Especially because Easter is coming up soon.

      • So do you have to cancel your previous NBN service first or can you order the new provider and cancel the previous after the new is all operational?

        • after the service is connected is best in my opinion so as to not have any miscommunication and early cancellation of your existing service

        • @telecube: So why are these guys complaining about big outage on HCF? By the way, I'm on HCF too.

        • @ocoolio: because with hfc we can't churn .. you have to disconnect first and then we order a new connection and you will be offline for between 1 day and 2 weeks.

  • +3

Can we get 25/5 500 GB plan advertised last time.

    • anotherone waiting for the same offer :)

    • sorry, i don't think we will offer that pricing again

  • +1

What are the reasons to jump over from Aussie broadband? I have heard they are very good?

    • +7

I'm with Aussie BB and they are very good, solid speeds, few dropouts. But I'm paying $80 for 500gb on 100/40, with no extra off peak allowance. And that's an old plan that's not available anymore, I think the equivalent is now $85. So there's a substantial price saving to be made, with extra data to boot with a switch to Telecube.

However while I've generally heard good things about Telecube, it's hard to make the switch - I'd be kicking myself if I lost the good speeds just to save a few bucks.

      • Good to know as Aussie broadband is more suitable for me with their included option for free call to phone and mobile.

        • Could you keep your voip service with AussieBB but change your NBN connection to Telecube? I think on the invoice they are showed as separate services.

        • @rexstar: yes. Aussiebb VoIP ain't cheap tho

      • +1

        100/40 500gb $80 plan represent!
I got Skymesh to match that plan ages ago but I also the free static IP from Skymesh. That works for me, I don't want to pay $85 + $10 for static IP from AusBB.

    • +1

Aussie Broadband are just too expensive now. I have a couple of free months credited to my account, as soon as those are finished I'll be leaving them too. ABB's higher price isn't worth it IMO.

    • +2

ABB have (reportedly) the best support, I can also say that ABB had a better evening speed than Telecube. That said, the value for money was pretty poor with ABB. You get a lot more data with Telecube and the price is right for the slightly lower peak speeds (at least for me).

  • Is the setup fee refund only for the 100/40 1000gb plan, or does it apply to any new plan?

    -EDIT-
Nvm read the post again and found the answer.

  • Can you do your last offer again?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/366471
I think you were also refunding the full $49 instead of $25
I procrastinated and missed out last time.

    • +1

The full setup is refunded in this offer too.

      • I meant the plans were $5 a month cheaper:
        25/5 100GB $40/mth
        25/5 500GB $45/mth
        25/5 1000GB $50/mth

        • +1

Sorry, this is the new offer.

        • @telecube: no worries will wait for a better offer (personally not worth the hussle right now to switch)

        • +5

@Mahalo: I don't expect we will offer those prices again

        • @telecube: That's what they always say. Your offers are extremely volatile.

        • +1

          @telecube:
          But other providers might

        • @bghunter: i'm sure they do already ;-)

  • Do you install the battery backup with the NTD for new FTTP builds?

  • My current provider, My Republic, has just bumped up the cost of my monthly plan by $25. I'll be giving Telecube's 100/40 a go!

    • $25, ouch!!

    • Buzztelco 100/40 only $69 unlimit anyone using it?

  • I wonder if SkyMesh will be happy to plan match this.

    • +3

Why bother, SkyMesh are crap now..

      • +11

Your cheque's in the mail ;-)

        • +3

Tell me, is your support team offshore or all Aussie based?

I'm with ABB at the moment and would consider moving over but definitely prefer to support Aussie companies.

        • +4

@XeKToReX: Aussie based, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane

    • Skymesh sucks and they force you to be with them for one extra month why bother?

      • What's everyone's problem with SM? Never had an issue with them at all.

        • They are still great for me.

    • +2

Enjoy unlimited data and the peak congestion that comes with it.

      • -2

might as well let net neutrality disappear

    • I had unlimited, then 1000gb, now 500GB… by choice.

There’s only so much thievery one’s soul can handle.

  • +1

Hi rep, why is HFC churn 1 to 2 weeks? That’s crazy downtime.

Does all providers take that long?

    • +1

It's that we are unable to fast churn HFC at the moment, we expect to be able to late April.

      • Yea I understood you are not able to, but I was curious why not.

        • It's a provisioning limitation in our platform, it should be resolved late April we are hoping.

    • +2

Not if you are lucky enough to have FTTP. Get new provider on separate port and switch whn ready. 1 min down time vs 2 wks!
Also you can change providers on the same port much faster. Usually NBD. Just another of the many differences..

  • Price has been increased since first offer, but still good offer

  • 10TB offpeak?? WTF? lol

    • +1

      Claytons unlimited ;-)

  • Thanks, have ordered the 100/40 deal. Hopefully I get near those speeds.

    • I get 93mbps at my place on FTTP. Haven't had any dramas at all with Telecube!

    • As long as you are not FTTN or FW you should.

  • +1

I've been connected to telecube for a few weeks now. Going great so far

  • Where is the link to sign-up ? :-)

    • +1

In the top post .. the image and go to deal button ;-)

  • +1

Meanwhile my expected HFC connection is "being upgraded".

    (profanity) Malcom Turnbull.

  • So just to confirm before I go ahead, I'll get the $50 credit on my account if I select the 50/20 500GB plan? Or is that only for the 1000gb plans? Then pay the 110$ upfront fee.

    • +1

Correct, the credit back is for all plans

      • Thank you, signed up and transferred/provisioned.

  • Hmm, No joy for customers with opticomm fiber ?

    • Opticomm fibre can sign up to this deal too .. just add in the notes that you're on Opticomm .. VIC and NSW only though.

  • +1

You couldn’t download more than 10Tb with a 100/40 connection running 7 hours a day for a month.

Why not make off peak unlimited?

    • I had to check your numbers and to my surprise you're correct!

    • +1

      10,000GB .. Unlimited

I like the big number ;-)

      • Lol might as well make it 20tb off peak :p

        • Actually on a 100M connection over a 217 hour period you can download 9,765GB

        • @telecube: Not all months have 217 hours of off-peak and even saying that getting a constant 12.5MB/s out of a 100M downstream is questionable.

Anyway, I'm with you guys and have no complaints. (I don't want to upvote because someone might steal my lovely bandwidth… Have told friends though.)

          Keep up the good work!

    • Maybe you can with bonded fibre on fttp?

  • Used to be $69, then $70 now $75.
