Grab the best selling guide to saving money cheapest price I've come across at the moment. A must for your Ozbargain needs.
Updated for 2017/18 A no fuss guide to cleaning up your finances and saving money explained in a simple easy to follow way.
Number 1 Australian best selling book.

See description below:

This is the only money guide you'll ever need That's a bold claim, given there are already thousands of finance books on the shelves.

So what makes this one different?

Well, you won't be overwhelmed with a bunch of 'tips' … or a strict budget (that you won't follow).

You'll get a step-by-step formula: open this account, then do this; call this person, and say this; invest money here, and not there. All with a glass of wine in your hand.

This book will show you how to create an entire financial plan that is so simple you can sketch it on the back of a serviette … and you'll be able to manage your money in 10 minutes a week.

You'll also get the skinny on:

Saving up a six-figure house deposit in 20 months
Doubling your income using the 'Trapeze Strategy'
Saving $78,173 on your mortgage and wiping out 7 years of payments
Finding a financial advisor who won't rip you off
Handing your kids (or grandkids) a $140,000 cheque on their 21st birthday
Why you don't need $1 million to retire … with the 'Donald Bradman Retirement Strategy'

Sound too good to be true? It's not.

This book is full of stories from everyday Aussies  single people, young families, empty nesters, retirees  who have applied the simple steps in this book and achieved amazing, life-changing results.

And you're next.

Book depository offer express Paypal Checkout with 6 business day dispatch according to the site.
I've used them previously and found them to be fantastic.
Enjoy

How about borrowing from a library?

      • +2

Unless there's a long waiting list. There's more than 150 people in the queue at my local library and each person can borrow the book for a minimum of 3 weeks…

    And Kmart same price everyday
    http://www.kmart.com.au/product/the-barefoot-investor-by-sco…

Not a deal. Same price as everywhere else.

    • For what it’s worth, I tried buying a copy from Kmart a while back and couldn’t find any in any stores as they seemed to have expanded their homewares at the expense of their book area.

    • +2

Not everyone has a Kmart or big W around. Especially in regional areas also stock is very patchy. Which is why i put in physical alternative store for those that want to check it out in store. So to you not a deal, but to the person that needs to get this delivered its a deal you save 5 bucks on delivery. Don't think the neg is necessary.

      • Yea a neg is a bit heavy here. It's the same price and this one has free delivery.

You could get a more in-depth summary from google but…

      1. Put your money into separate "buckets" so you can identify easily what they are for.
      2. Spend less than you earn.
      3. Budget.

Good read, very good if you have absolutely no common financial sense - give a basic framework that results in a solid retirement without any false promises of 'getting rich quick'

    Anyone asking for a summary

the basic premises is dont buy anything on credit bar you house
pay off your owner occupied property ASAP
    Hostplus is the best super
ING is the best everyday account
always get the lowest rate possible for your home loan
income insurance is worth it to protect your family
Save a % of your income in a 'high interest' save in case it is needed one day

He should probably put on some shoes or he might cut his feet on peoples shattered dreams.

I have read the book and highly recommend it. I purchased 3 for gifts.

    • That site definitely looks fake…

  • Does anyone have the blueprint on getting a discount on your home insurance you could post? He goes though exactly what to say in the book.

Still waiting for my copy to arrive but I've already listened to the audio book.. and my home insurance expires next week.

    Thank you :)

    • Isn't the audio exactly what is written in the book?
