  • To be honest, I haven't been that impressed with my optus coverage as of late (North Sydney and Northern Beaches). Moved onto a 12 month plan in November and I haven't had near as many dropouts as I have had with Optus over the last 6 years I have been with Vodafone. Speeds are somewhat slow as well and for some reason or another I have had instances where I am dedicated 3G data whilst my brother/friends (on Optus as well) standing right next to me are allocated 4G data. Funnily enough whenever we're near each other I'm always on 3G…(call me unlucky). Most of the time it's been fine and the free live EPL coverage is an added benefit. That being said, when my 12 months is up I will definitely be looking at all available options.

        I'm in same situation and have tested with many different phones.
        As I'm one of those enthusiast techies I have used a lot of flagship devices: Samsung S8, Samsung S9, iPhone 7, iPhone 8, iPhone X, Huawei Mate 10 Pro. I have even tried Hong Kong Models against Aussie models. (note: usage is 1 month minimum)
        I originally thought optus woudld be an upgrade from Vodafone, but later realized it was more of a downgrade. I commute through the entire Northern Line everyday Central -> Hornsby and signal isn't that great. Recently I've been carrying a mobile hotspot using vodafone sim as it provides better reception. Inner west line doesn't work that well for me as well -> starts losing signal between Mcdonaldtown to Summer Hill.

    • If you have network issue ring up optus , If they cant fix up problem due to poor reception in your location they will let you cancell contact without cancellation fee

  • Just spoken to sales over live chat, Optus will charge $200 early termination fee for the customer who did re-contracting for same plan last month like me. I gave up.

      Same with me, i found its stupid rule as i am commiting for more 12 months . I only have 2 months left on my current plan already planning to leave Optus And i always have issues with their sales team , they never find me in their system and always have issues with accessing new Perks

  • these kind of flybuys deals are not clear most of the time, sometimes they automatically extend your subscription even when you dont want it. it happened with my gym subscription, it extended my contracts 3 months automatically, without me being informed or asked.
