Just get the A7 III if you are sony lovers, better overall performance for less money.

    • We're really excited about the A7 III too! So many exciting developments lately.

      • I'm interested in the A7Riii but find it overpriced now with the release of the A7iii so might wait for deals on that or hopefully Sony drop the price on the A7Riii as it's clearly overpriced after the A7iii launch…

        • And here I was thinking A7 III is overpriced.. A7R series has always been very expensive because they represented top of the line capability.

A7's been available for around $850 net for ages. A7 II about $1200. A7 III with $3000 RRP will likely stay $2000+ …. Thats a big price jump

        • The A7III certainly packs at lot of technology and performance into a great price point.
We're seeing a lot of professional, landscape and fine art photographers opting for the A7R III given its powerful dynamic range and resolution from the 42MP sensor.

        • @CameraPro:

We purchased our last A7Rii from you and have been happy in general but need an upgrade as the focus system is not great in some situations but I'm struggling to justify the A7riii pricing compared with the A7iii…

I like the A7iii as it has a better and wider focusing system (which is fantastic and something we would use often)… but at times we also like to have the higher resolution although it's not always needed… Just can't currently justify the price difference on the A7riii vs A7iii… decisions decisions… Might just hang out and see what Sony do with the A7riii as I have a feeling most people are going to buy the A7iii now as it's an awesome camera and most won't bother with the 'R' series as in the past because of that… which means I suspect Sony will be forced to drop the price on the 'r' series moving forward… Just my thoughts will see what happens..

It would also be great if Sony offered Pro Support customers some kind of discount or upgrade offers which I've mentioned to them (fingers crossed for the future!)

      • Hi CameraPro team,

Any news on when the A7iii stock will be ready to ship? Also, any launch deals planned by your or Sony for this camera that you can share?

        Cheers!

P.S. I've just noticed Sony Australia report stock is in :-)

  • A7 III is still on pre-order and probably won't get discounted for now.

  • No reduction for 77d? :)

    • Not at the moment sorry blaque!

Appreciate that the 6D Mark 1 is a discontinued item and it is difficult to get stock elsewhere. $1,499 for australian stock now is OK.
But I struggle to see it is as a bargain— bought mine $1,400, more than 4 years ago from JBHifi.. (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/131442)
The 6D is released in Nov 2012, Grey imports are currently around $1,200, second hand around $1,000.

Paying $1,499 for a ~6 year old tech isn't ideal. Better off saving extra to get the Mark 2, although reviews aren't as good.

If you're not heavily invested in Canon's eco system, Sony A7II (released Nov 2014) may be a better choice below $2k.

    • Pentax K1 - just a little above $2k

  • I'm far more interested in discounts on glass. Hope we see that.

    • Are you subscribed to our mailing list gwoody? Easter is just around the corner ;-)

  • Might want to edit the subject to put the SALE prices of the Fujis instead of the normal prices…

    • Done, thank you!
