  • Definitely will be at the Heidelberg store when the doors open

Wonder how many people will go to a pc store at midnight? I know I'm gunna be way too drunk on Christmas night. Someone will have to take some videos and post them on youtube.

  • What do you get with the telstra dongle? just the dongle? IT says free 1gb data with first recharge?
So what is the $24 for in the first place??

    • It is the Telstra USB prepiad modem dongle pack.
The same product at any Telstra shop, phone shop or supermarket.

@ MLN. As I live in NSW. I Wanted to know, if we buy a product 26 early morning, before the in store customers. Will our item be stocked before store customers
    or
if in the store customers will be preferred and be given our booked items?

    • -3

      bad luck mate.

    • also interested in hearing about this

    • +1

Your booked items will not be given to anyone,
priority goes to those, who order and complete their payment first.
Instore stock allocation is easier to monitor than online, as the product is physically available and virtually impossible to oversell becuase it sits in front of the sales person.
I have explained the oversell issue a few times in some other posts.
Please remember this occurs in less than 1% of the time only.
      Please see the other posts.

      • That's good because it's first come first serve

  • which would be the best method to use out of internet banking, bank deposit and bpay?

can i sign up and make an account in preperation for tonight without having to place an order right now?

    • the sign up and order process is all in one step, its only one page, and it is done all at once.
You can pay via internet banking or Bpay, whatever you are more comfortable with.

  • What does the asterix(*) "limit of 2 per customer" refer to because it isn't shown on any products?

    • +1

      On the USB memory stick
      where it is listed

Other limitations may apply in store,
it is up to the discretion of the sales person

      • Will the items mentioned for sale be available on your website as soon as it hits Boxing Day? Can't find the Lexar 4GB USB flash drive on your site at the moment.

        • Most products where possible will be,
the website will be updating with the price changes.
With $9 shipping on the USB stick, it may not be that viable for the USB memory stick and we beleive in store purchases will benefit most from this product.

          edit:
Not a viability issue on our behalf, rather will customers want it more online?, or instore?
Its a matter of majority in this case as we cannot be very specific to each individual user.
We need to decide, if customers online cannot order this particular item, and may not want it for $9 postage, then what about customers instore?
I think people outside waiting in the cold would be more upset if the product was not available to them, and they did not have to pay $9 postage.
This is not my call guys, the product managers are allocating stock now as we speak based on store forecasting.

        • Can't reply to your statement about USB memory sticks not being a viable sale opportunity, just thinking of grabbing one or so with a larger hard drive (so as to fill the 3 items for $9 postage), so hopefully they appear on the site.

edit: With half an hour to go you still can't say for sure if the advertised item will be available to online users?

  • Anyone lining up at the moment? We're about to go now…

      • Direct link?

    • feels a little bit unfair…waste of time to wait…

        • +2

What a joke… MLN rep said website could handle at least 20,000 sessions at once.

If there are more than 20,000 idiots like me waiting on mln.com.au on xmas night, well I'll eat my s@#%.

        • +1

          I wouldnt say idiots,
but yes more than that was online,
not just ozbargainers are aware of our sale.
Site went back up after 30 minutes and things look smooth,
the stock is still there guys, so it has not sold out.
          You can still buy
          Our offers are genuine.

  • +5

    • +5

lol that'll be epic, demand bargains or crash their webiste

  • +4

      • wooooo RAVE PARTY

      • +4

hahhaha wish I could vote this more than once.

I do also find it ironic that most people on here bitch about this not being a bargain, yet will stay up till midnight on Christmas to chase these "non-bargains"

  • LOL hot night tonight, could't sleep, reading all these posts it seems not many are having much luck online, happy that I got my order thru centrecom lol :)

  • Tempted to just drive down to MLN now. Anyone report back on the other laptops on discount?

    • +2

That's harsh. rep did say that they couldn't predict how popular it was going to be, all you guys refreshing would just about equate to a DDOS attack :). Hopefully there will be stock in the morning when I arrive. Off to sleep now.

      • +1

        thats exactly what happened.
You guys were the cause of your own fears.
