Powershop Increased Switch Bonus to $100 (Previously $75) Two Weeks Only

80

Powershop recently increased their Switch Your Mates referral bonus to $100 (up from $75) for two weeks only. Offer expired midnight 02 April 2018

I know they may not be the cheapest around anymore, but the service is good and they've recently decreased their rate for Victoria.

Both referrer and referee gets $100

Edit: expiry date

Edit: Looks like we have some older links in the referral system that are no longer valid. If the referrer link you click is invalid, keep clicking random until you get a valid link (thanks Mod)

Referral Links

Referral: random (97)

Referrer receives $75 credit and referee receives $75 credit on first bill.

  • So much choices but we only get one.

    • Pardon? You mean for the referral system? I don't know how to link the whole Powershop wiki referral codes list. Not sure how the new referral wiki system works.

      • I'm in WA. Synergy……

  • Do we still do a referral system here?

      • "Woops, this referral isn't valid"
Tried a couple of times and still get this message from the referral link.

        • What does that means? Does it mean some of the peoples refferral links are broken or just some or what?

Either way just keep randomly trying, you'll eventually get mine :)

        • Looks like we have some older links in the system that are no longer valid, I thought it might just be older links but some links added today also don't appear to work. Investigating now.

Edit: Seems that the links are valid but they aren't always redirecting properly.

For now keep clicking random until you get a valid link as hamwhisperer mentioned above.

        • [@hamza23](/comment/5765123/red ofir): this email will always remind us infinitely right?

        • @hamwhisperer:

          Which email sorry?

For the referral problem, we worked out the issue. Some links have ?p=557 or ?p=104 at the end of them. That isn't redirecting properly through our system. Users should update the link and remove the ?p=557 or ?p=104 at the end for now.

Click edit in the grey box here to do so.

        • @hamza23: Thank and also, dumb question, can we always click edit, to add ours in that grey box for services (Amex cards etc as well?)

I've always found it awkward to find the referral system, it's kinda buried in the site.

Hope I have now corrected mine.

        • @hamwhisperer:

Yes you can, for any site supported in the referral system. However the easiest way is to go to your referral settings here in settings > edit > referrals and add your referral code/link to any sites you wish to participate in.

Just checked your link and it looks good.

          Thanks

        • FYI all referral links should be fixed now. We found that the ?p=557 or ?p=104 was causing the link to break when redirecting, as trimmed that as it's not necessary for the referral link.

We also asked all users whos links are older than 180 days to re-enter them overnight.

  • Did the comparison last week and for me Tango was the cheapest and they have a straight forward flat rate, not this off peak, on peak, controlled business.

    • Powershop has a flat rate. Just about any provider will have Anytime rates and Time of use rates

      • +1

You're correct, didn't see the flat rate. To compare
        Powershop
        Flat rate-18.54c/kwh ex GST
        Daily supply charge-103.19 ex GST

        Tango
        Flat rate-17.7c/kwh ex GST
Daily supply charge 100.00 ex GST

This is just for my area though so others might have different results.
Tango have frozen prices for 12 months too which is a bonus.

        • Is that Powershop's current rate for you? They dropped around 5% as of 1st March.

Carbon Neutral is already included. Their green power is an additional 8.5c/kWH (inc. GST). Not sure how others compare here?

And is Tango giving you $100 credit? That is your daily supply charges for the next 8 years!

        • @zuccs:

Yes that's Powershops current rate for me.
          Tango give a $50 credit

You made me look into all this though and I rang the Vic energy compare again. For some reason they are not showing Powershops the cheap fixed rate plan I showed above, this makes powershop look a lot higher. Even Powershops own estimate puts me on a much higher plan than the flat rate plan.

However using the figures above I would need to use 12.5 KWH a day to cover the $50 sign up bonus difference taking into account tango's cheaper rates. I only use 7.7KWH a day.

So Powershop maybe cheaper for me.

    • If you take advantage of cheaper off peak rates for things that can be scheduled you can save money.

  • Does powershop also offer Gas?
If not, which provider do you guys use for Gas?
Thinking of signing up for the $100 credit.

  • Hey Guys, I know it's expired but did anyone sign up for this? I read the Terms and conditions and it was a $100 once off credit, but apparently they're now saying that it was $25 each month for 4 months. Did anyone get the lump sum credit?
