From what I see from MLN's sale

    Lenovo G560: Intel Core i3, 500GB Storage, 4GB Memory - $497
    Toshiba C650: Intel Core i3, 500GB Storage, 2GB Memory - $588
500GB USB Portable hard drives from $49
1TB External hard drives from $49

    • +1

      Hi,
The G560 they are selling which is $33 cheaper, but come with old i3 processor and smaller 320GB Hard drive
Toshiba C650 they are selling, is Intel Pentium P6100, is not even a i3 Processor.

      • Yea but you have fees for using credit card, and unknown shipping charges unless you log and iirc, your shipping fees are very high.

        • Hi, please understand our shipping fee which is on the area and the cubic size.

      • hi Centrecom,

I placed my order and paid for by direct transfer on 25/12. I just received an email from you guys saying that the payment has not been received. Would you be able to have a quick look for me? I just want to make sure that the order did go through as I already missed out on the MLN sale.

        Thanks

        • I got one also, I think that email is automatically sent out by the system if it doesn't receive payment within the days its set at. I payed on 25th also but since banks don't open till tomorrow they most likely won't receive the payment till Thursday and Centrecom is shut til 4th of Jan anyway.

  • Better value is 1.5TB External USB2.0 for $64 …

    • yeah the 1.5 sounds good. mln's sale price for the 2TB version of this drive is $139

      • +2

but as the the guy below me said, MLN "pick up has priority, no additional charges."

    • The longer you hold out the cheaper they'll become. All USB2.0 external drives will be bargain bin items after NY.

    • MLN is selling 1.5tb for $65 and pick up has priority, no additional charges.

  • +1

Any one knows the cost of postage and handling?

    • Vic Metro : $8.25
      Auspost Satchel: $9.00

  • hmmm… y would one be interested in this more than MLN's?

    • gotta agree … postage kills the very few bargains !!
but at least the sale is on right now, tempted to get the 1.5TB if only they had in-store too !!

      • Freight is actually a fair bit cheaper on the laptops at CentreCom.

        • Maybe for those in NSW.

  • +6

    postage to sydney is $18!!!

i just want the usb wifi stick for a buck lol!

    • +2

      ouch!!

    • +1

Yeah seriously postage is a killer.

    • if it is any consolation, I paid $60 for a USB wifi adapter about 3 years ago.

  • +1

I paid $599 for the same unit from MLN just a couple of weeks ago.

  • +2

The freight cost for 1 x USB portable drive & 1 x wifi stick to Perth is $45 !!!!

    • +4

that sucks. I've had two pairs of jeans shipped from America and the shipping price was $32. A USB wifi dongle and portable drive shipped interstate for $45? Atrocious! There is no way any freight company would charge that price for small items similar to those.

  • +8

Any chance of free shipping? Postage cost kills the deal.

    $18 to deliver 2 hdds….

  • The Toshiba at $599 is great value, also only $18 shipping. Pity no HDMI that I can see but can't have it all.

  • $54 to deliver one laptop…

  • is in-store pickup available?

  • +8

Centrecom should sack its web designer for failing to use spell check …LOL
    "Ene of Year Sale"

  • +1

Actually this is a good offer, on those who would miss out on the MLN sale this could be a back up.

  • +1

Are these prices available in store? Oh wait… online only, BOOO

The wireless adapters aren't worth getting without buying something else then… and something tells me it was deliberately made that way.

Whats the price of the wireless USB adapter instore?

  • +1

Even with delivery their 2.5" ext HDD is cheaper than MSY.

  • Hi Centrecom,
This is actually a good deal. Quick question, does the Lenovo G560 come with eSATA port or not?

  • Anyhow, made up my mind and ordered a Lenovo G560 and an USB Wireless N for $530 plus $18 postage to Sydney which is very reasonable. Mind you MLN charge $29 for a laptop alone.

Thanks Centrecom, please have them delivered to me before New Year. Paid by Bank Transfer.

  • +1

I bought 3 1.5TB Samsung Story Hard drives. Hope Centrecom process these without any dramas as I have paid via bank transfer.

If they dont honour it am gonna be pissed off cause then I would loose the chance to buy from MLN.

Fingers crossed as a first time buyer from centrecom.

  • Great don't need to stay up late now for the MLN sale just bought a 1.5TB Samsung Story and Iomega 2.5 500GB HDD's and 5 wireless dongles :) $18 postage for everything to NSW :) Just paid via DD also

  • MLN has the 640g seagate for $49.

    • +1

I can only see the seagate for $59

  • +1

im buying 4 500gb hdd and that works out to be $4.50 per hdd, that seems alright. but i'll see how much shipping mln will have tomorrow

    • $4.50 per hdd?

      • +1

        lol sorry i meant shipping

  • Tempted to neg this deal. For the ridiculously high shipping costs. I am able to pick up from store and would consider a once off $5 processing fee …instead I will probably get a 250Gig portable drive from Hardly Normal for $47. I don't need it bigger than this for now anyway. Actually if you factor in the postage, then a lot of places are cheaper on the portable drives anyways.

  • Earliest postage will be after 5th Jan!

    • Geez that's over 2 weeks away.

  • +4

Why can't these deals be available in store just like mln can. I've always hated centrecom for this. You walk into the store and there store pricing is diff to web pricing. Not really retail is it.not every one wants to buy online.

  • Yep thank you Centrecom for posting this, i just bought 1.5TB HD and 500GB HD and WiFi dongle THANKS

    • Do you have to register to buy online? i registered last night and the confirmation email hasnt come through yet! How long are you supposed to wait for the confirmation email?

      • delete

      • i registered last night as well, the confirmation contains the given password, because thats all i got from them. I got this instantly, try another e-mail.
And also , due to the fact that you are a first time user, you have to send them some details(scans of residential household, credit card signature, and authorisation) if paying by credit card.

        • Cheers. I did try with two email addresses, one using my gmail and one using my work address. Nothing's come through just yet.

Just checked. Confirmation has gone through!! cheers

  • +1

    Hi Centrecom,
Is the Lenovo premium or base model ?

  • is anyone having trouble with the credit card authorisation?
i tried my hotmail but it came up with a "Delivery Status Notification (Failure)"
then i tried with my gmail
Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 552 552 Message size exceeds maximum permitted (state 18).
    .
is this the right email to send to?

I paid with bank deposit 3 days ago and have still not received confirmation they received it, and their store is closed atm. If they had paypal I would have canceled my order by now. So far this will be a one time purchase.

      • I payed on the 25th and no confirmation either, I think someone has to manually check for payments thats why we haven't received any confirmation yet because there on Holidays til the 4th of Jan.

        • +1

I just received an almost threatening email about paying, I paid the DAY I ordered, never again will I buy from centrecom, ever. I advise anyone considering them to go to MLN. I ordered from them on the same day and paid at the same time (harddrive and cable, I ordered a laptop from centrecom)and they received it yesterday.

  • As I said above those emails seems to be automatic as nobody has flagged our orders as paid as nobody is there to manually do it seems. I have received these emails the past 4 days and all are sent 12:00AM lol :) I would't worry about it as there website says that all orders will be processed when they return on the 4th of Jan

  • +1

I just got email showing that my order has been canceled!

    • me too!
this is the last time i'm buying from centrecom.

  • +2

WTF, i'm done with these clowns and their special(ly) stupid sale.
Date Ordered: Saturday, 25 December, 2010

The comments for your order are

Order automatically cancelled (7 day limit - payment has not been received)

Your order has been updated to the following status.

    New status: Cancelled

Please reply to this email if you have any questions.

    • Maybe you should pay for your order? :p

but seriously that sucks, especially thinking that you'd receive it in the next day or two, now you have to email to get your order or a refund.

    • +1

Got the same email. I can only assume (and hope) all will be rectified today though!

    • yep mine was cancelled as well, i even sent SEVERAL credit confirmations
      actually glad it was cancelled

  • +1

got the same email today and this had better be rectified as it is not the customers fault that they didn't adjust their systems to their holidays. I paid for my order on the 24th the same day that I placed my order.

    • Same email. Same story. I paid on the day which i placed my order and still received the 'order canceled' email. I really do hope that they do something about it.

  • +1

Got the same email also paid on the 25th they better fix this as they have my money in there bank account

  • +1

I've never experienced such customer service like Centre Com, their reputation has indeed gone down the dunnie!

  • That is just utterly outrageous and poor form, if I had chosen centrecom over mln, I would be expecting somesort of compensation for such unprofessional service (nothing huge but reasonable enough)

  • +2

Centrecom is not answering the phone. This is Pure BllSit.

    • I've sent them an email and now just tried to call them the number has a busy tone…

    • 110% B/S!!!

I also got a bloody email telling me my order has been cancelled!

I will be contacting my lawyer soon…

  • Got thru on there number but was on hold for 10mins hungup if anyone can get thru quicker let us know as I'm not going to be charged STD calls ontop of everything else…

  • +1

am waiting on hold at the moment.

  • +1

I called them and they said they will forward the issue to the internet department and that will call me back. The guy sounded like I was teh first one to call about such an issue.

I suggest you all call centrecom.

    • I hope they call you back.

I've already responded to their email so let's see what happens today eh?

It seems the only problem was that they forgot to turn off the automated emails, which I beleive centrecom should send an apology email about.

    • yeah probably everyone that ordered via credit card was flooded daily with the confirmation emails

    • +2

Well for some of us it was worse, we got emails saying the order was cancelled and payment not received when we had already sent the money!

      • LOL Yep

  • No email yet to say status has changed but when I checked on their website, it says the order status has changed to processing, Hmmpf!

  • +1

My situation was different, I asked to cancel my order but they kept sending me payment notification.

  • How come no one's revoked their +ve votes?

    • You have 72 hrs to revoke votes unfortunately…

  • and I was thinking of buying a desktop PC in the next few months, but now rethinking.

  • +1

My order status is still showing as processing. did anybody get theirs shipped?

    • Mine says shipped but the TNT tracking no. doesn't work… :(

  • Still processing for mine also…

    • Someone from centrecom contacted me saying the wireless adapter is limited to one per customer. Do you get the same email? Are they OK with your order of 5 adapters?

      • havent received any email like that, when did u get that email?

        • 5.30pm today. This guy was saying the limit per customer was clearly stated in their emailed newsletter on 31/12/2010. I didnt get this newsletter and i thought they were all on holidays then and hence all this confusion.

        • I never received the newsletter and there sale started on the 24th so how can they impose a limit 7 days after a sale starts? there sale page did't have no mention of a limit nor did they limit from adding more then one to the shopping cart. As of 6am I have still not received this email and my order is still in processing stage…

So what happens now they owe me $4 refund if there only going to give me 1 adapter

  • +1

    Processing is taking forever! sigh

  • I'm surprised the Rep hasn't weighed in, perhaps he's still on holiday?

    • nope check his last online

      • Why no comment from him then? Perhaps he's no longer subscribed to this thread?

  • +1

Centrecom should be banned from ozbargain. if a rep posts a deal they should be still here to answer problems.

    • Yes no replies or any contact about delays or now about the wireless dongles, wonder when my order will get shipped…..? still processing….

      • did you check the website? I got no further emails after my order was "cancelled".

but on the website it changed to "awaiting payment", then "processing" and then "dispatched". all the time no further emails were sent.

        • yes mine still in processing

          25/12/2010 Awaiting payment
