  • So this Asus EeePC 1001PX would be $229 effectively.

    http://dicksmith.com.au/product/XC8881/asus-eeepc-1001px-10-…

    • But that item is instore only?

      • Bugger.

  • +11

Worth mentioning maximum cashback is $100

    • +7

So spending $666.64 or more will get you the maximum $100 cashback.

Can't really find a good bargain to use it on.. most of the stuff I've seen cheaper even with the 15% off. :-(

That means ipod touch 8gb 4G is $219.30 delivered. Not bad at all. Have to wait a while to get your money back though. Typical paypal I guess.

  • Does this work with woolworths staff discount?

    • Unless there is somewhere u can input your woolies code online, I'd say no

    • +1

Yep, sure does! Enter you barcode number in the 'everyday rewards' box during checkout & the discount appears.

Freak…dse's - i hate them… they promise to price match it.. but when you go- all you hear is "Sorry mate- we can't match it" You may buy where get it cheaper.

    • +1

Bastards as if you need their permission, should charge them for petrol.

      • I would have assumed the possibility for one occasion.. but its like 3rd time in a row.

I was after Canon IXUS 105 camera this time, which OW, JBHIFI, HN all were selling for $166- wherease DSE was for $217. They refused to price match… "You may buy from where you get it cheaper" statement sounded so rude..

Makes this Toshiba 15.6" C650 notebook good value at $433 delivered.

    P6100 2.1GHz, 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD, 802.11N.

Not great for an enthusiast or gamer or someone in need of processing grunt, but great for the average home user who mostly does internet and documents.

    • Only a minor difference but the P6100 is only 2GHz

      • Whoops, brain fart. Thanks for the correction.

      Don't think so:

EDIT: Sorry you are right, PayPal offer is additional.

    • That's cheap, I'm gonna grab one, gr8 find mate :)

It makes EA sports active 2 bargain for Xbox 360 and ps3.

Ps3 controllers are not too bad with the discount as well.

Xbox 360 250gb kinect bundle is bargain with $414 too.

  • not bad. considering a kinect bundle. The 250gb will only be $414 or thereabouts with free delivery.

  • They have 10% off netbooks as part of there sale i wonder if you still get the 10% then the 15% from paypal

    • Reading the terms and conditions there's nothing to indicate that it wouldn't stack.

So yeah, you'll get the discount and the cashback.

      • But of the 8 netbooks I can see, only two are by online sale, the rest are instore only, so no 15% off. And note that the prices for those two on the webpage already reflect the 10% discount.

  • ahh i see but the ones that are online doesnt say the 10% has been taken off or have they just applied it?

    • Look at the details page for the model and you will see that the price reflects 10% off already.

  • Nice just used my $50 Wish card I got for Xmas on a Logitech remote. 15% cashback on the -$50 price…

  • I suppose to be excited that ipad are 15% off. But when I browse it , it said that in store only.

Just got a SENZU 32" LED tv off the site full HD, only $399 online only sale only, free delivery an payed with paypal I should get $60 back, not a bad deal!.

    • It's not LED?

      • Indeed. Just LED backlit with a standard LCD actually showing the picture. I wonder what manufacturers will do once LEDs really replace the entire LCD. "It's TRUE LED now! We promise!" :-)

aholes trying to not discount certain items

  • Damn just about everything that is a good price is "instore only".

  • Brings this compaq down to $396

    http://dicksmith.com.au/product/XC8945/compaq-presario-cq62-…

Not bad for a budget lappy, might even pull the trigger.

    • I have to say the Compaq more than measures up to the more expensive laptop mentioned above:

      http://dicksmith.com.au/product/XC8927/satellite-c650-01m-no…

Other than it having only 2GB of ram (vs 4GB) am I missing something?

      Thanks.

      • I thought the same. I am not really a computer nerd but why 2gb RAM on a 64bit system????

        • Also, for memory the Compaq has the following specs:

          2048MB 1066MHz DDR3 (1 Dimm). Maximum Memory: "Max supported = 8GB"

Excuse my ignorance but does that mean that it has 2GB in one slot which leaves an extra slot for upgrading - or does it mean that there is 2GB in one slot and that there is ONLY one slot available?

          Thanks.

        • Having only 2GB RAM helps to save a few dollars for the manufacturer on what is a low price notebook. You still have the option to add RAM to improve performance (as you could on a 32 bit system) - but it will cost you more $'s instead of the manufacturer.

Probably means 2 slots x 4GB max each for total = 8GB. To get 8GB though you will have to remove existing 2GB RAM and replace with 1 x 4GB RAM plus add another 4GB RAM in the vacant slot.

    • I can't decipher the specs (see below), is this a DVD writer or just a read only drive?

Optical Drive: LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD±RDRW with Double Layer Support

I just bought an Acer Aspire One.

    http://dicksmith.com.au/product/XC8938/aspire-one-aod255-2dq…

    $359.10 with free delivery
    Less 3% Moneybackco
    Less 15% Paypal discount
    Less $39 Acer cashback

$255 delivered. Not too shabby for a netbook

    • I am not worthy!!

      Love the moneybackco reminder too.

      Two questions:

1.How did you know there was an Acer cashback on this model?

2.It talks about the unit weighing "about 1kg" in the general description and then says that the "package weight is 2.24kgs" What is the difference and can this same disparity be applied to ALL laptops/netbooks on Dick Smiths online?

      Thanks.

    • What I mean is does the laptop have 1 slot for ram or 2?

    • I purchased the same netbook. When I tried to register for cash back I was told that the part number is not covered by the cashback scheme. Very frustrating given that we have no way of knowing the part number until we receive the netbook.

    • I bought this & am reasonably happy with it, but am having trouble with the cashback claim. Acer are claiming that the product number that they're offering the cashback on is different from the one DSE are selling :(

      • I'm having the same problem. It seems like a very flawed policy on the part of Acer. They probably got several sales through this confusing cash back policy. I'm thinking seriously about lodging a complaint with the fair trading commission.

The morale of the story may be to be wary of Acer generally and be wary of their cash back offers.

  • Tempting, but I rather not get the 15% off and pay by my credit card to get the extended warranty. Can't save too much these days.

    • I wondered about that. You don't think if you draw the PayPal amount out of your credit card the cards extended warranty applies?

      • No, because you are not purchasing the item with your credit card; you are purchasing with PayPal. Your credit card payment is made to PayPal.

        • Have you had a ruling on that from the credit card people, or are you just assuming that's how it is?

        • Well, according to the NAB Gold Insurance Policy Document under Extended Warranty Insurance:
          http://www.nab.com.au/wps/wcm/connect/e04f2b004b9d4760a210e3…

‘Gold card’ means a current and valid personal gold card
issued by NAB in connection with a NAB personal credit
card account (and includes a card issued to an additional
          cardholder on such an account).

Covered products must be paid for in full with the
          gold card.

PayPal is not a gold card. It is merely another payment processing provider, which happens to be funded by either a bank account or credit/debit card.

        • Has anyone claimed the extended gold card warranty? Any issues or was it easy peasy? Do they replace with new if they can't repair? I get everything on the gold visa but am still to claim extended warranty. BTW travel insurence was great when I claimed.

        • Can't say, but some of your questions may be answered in the linked gold insurance policy PDF (regarding replacement if can't repair).

*Terms and Conditions: Promotion starts 25/12/10 and ends 29/12/10. The $50 threshold must be met or exceeded in one order on dicksmith.com.au. Maximum cashback of $100 per PayPal account. 1 cashback per PayPal account. All products within the order must be in stock and available for online purchase. Threshold is after all other discounts and excludes delivery costs. PayPal payment method must be selected in the shopping cart. Cashback will be processed prior to 04 February 2011. An email will be sent to your designated PayPal email address when the cashback has been credited to your PayPal account. Limit one cashback per PayPal account.

      • Thanks mate.

  • Too bad you can't buy gift cards.

  • I just wonder with the “back ordered” status could we still get the 15% from paypal as in the T&S state ……. All products within the order must be in stock and available for online purchase….. ???

    • Can anyone confirm we can still get cashback from this? I bought a Wii Fit and its been “back ordered”…..

Says here: "order must be in stock and available for online purchase." So technically it would be valid even if backordered cause if there wasnt any stock then the 'add to cart' link would be inactive & the item unable to be bought therefore invalidating that quote. Sounds right?

  • DAMN, I missed out this deal :(

    • The prices still show as 15% off..

      • From Paypal???

      • Only shows 10% from DSE. I think the Paypal 15% is gone… DAMN!!

  • This would have been good with the current Apple deals, but I'm sure it was planned this way

  • Anyone received their cashback yet?

    • Still waiting

    • Still waiting. Good to see it ain't just me.

    • Me too :(

      • They better pay up in the next 3 days or they're gonna have much trouble on their hands….

        • Hopefully :(

    • I thought it was just me that was still waiting too

  • I just got an email from Dick Smith saying,

'….We wish to advise that due to the overwhelming success of the promotion we have been unable to process all Paypal cashback payments by the advertised date of 4th February 2011.

All remaining Paypal cashback payments will be made by 11th February 2011…'.

    • Got this email too.
