      The unprofessional ozbargainer who cannot drink the whole bottle would use glad wrap with rubber band (It worked well. Keep my sparkling wine fresh for 2 weeks)

        A professional ozbargainer would buy cheap white wine and put it through a Sodastream to turn it into sparkling wine.

          A friend had bowlers run in fridge. I opened it and….YUCK!

          It has to be a particularly tasteless white, no strong flavour, not sweet, etc., and it makes big bubbles rather than little ones - but it does work.

    Nice product but corks are fairly rare these days and the stelvin enclosure makes this product redundant.

          Vacuum seals don't work on liquids that diffuse gas, over a short period of time the gas fills the vacuum and pop goes the seal.

        Although I would say that something like this which causes a slight vacuum will further reduce spoilage from the air contained in the opened bottle if it wasn't under a vacuum.

    learned not to use one of this on champagne inside the car. popped and drinks spilt everywhere on the carpet.

      Not on champagne or anything with carbonation.

      It relies on making a vacuum seal to work. If the liquid can hold gas that can be diffused (bubbles) then the seal will pop right off without even being touched.

      Also if left too long on wine, as it turns from ethanol to vinegar it will release carbon dioxide which will also break the vacuum and pop the seal.

    Real question though, will it even arrive? Zapal orders take between 5-7 weeks to arrive, and my last 2 orders haven't arrived in 2 months.

      This is for when you don't have a screwcap bottle, and don't want to reuse the original cork (you've never had one break inside the bottle?).

      They also paid $7 for theirs and reviewed it at that cost.

    cheap one works but either made of plastic or soft metal. the best and free one from gerog Jensen sparkling - the bottle is around $40 and $28 when on special.
