  • Wonder if the set is any good, picture qty wise! i will check it out in store today

Its either this or the Samsung 32" C550 for $498 at clive peters

I would like the ability to play divx/xvid/mkv movies off 2.5" portable usb hard drives. I know the samsung does this and the Sanyo may do it as it supports usb 2.0

i dont have full specs on this tv, but i saw it yesterday at bigw and in my opinion the picture quality is below par. The picture did not look sharp and the colours were dull. The feature that caught my attention though was how thin this tv is, its a nice design.

Looking at the TV IN STORE! at dick smith because they had a digital image on it,, looked good, awesome picture, and better then most other brands, LG Samsung an sony still above this unit in image and power usage

for LED it uses more power then all the non LED LCD's lol

The reason i didnt buy this TV is because even though it states 100Htz its as smooth if not less then the Samsung 50Htz TV and cant even come close to how smooth the 100Htz LG, Samsung and Sony are!

Apart from that its a good buy! :) but im just fussy and want the best

  • This is their daily price. Despite the specs found the picture quality not as good as one would expect. Maybe due to the slow response time. Think they've got the wrong response time on the website. Strongly suggest you check the picture quality in store before purchase.

    • Yeah last Sanyo lcd i saw at bigw looked shocking, i thought they would have improved by now, guess not.. Samsung for me! :)

    • Yeah it is actually 8ms response time.

I bought the Tv for my bedroom and am rapt. For the price it is great.
LED, Full HD…..Under the lights in Big W is no way to judge this TV.

    • Captian, can you plug i a usb powered pocket hard drive and watch xvid, divx movies'?

      • +2

Yep, have used usb thumb drive and 360GB WD drive

      • Hi Vid_Ghost. I used 500GB WD Drive and so far can read rmvb, mp4, avi, mov, vob
Can't read: MKV, .ts, .m2ts, .iso

The interface pretty good too… :)

Full HD at 32inch is hardly worth it, especially being that most of these are used for bedrooms etc. Hardly anyone plays bluray on 32inch panels so what's the point? There isn't one. You're better off paying the same for a better branded panel that isn't 1080P. It is likely give you a better picture anyway.

    • You have obviously never enjoyed Bluray Porn LOL

      • That's where you swallow the hype like most my friend. You don't need a 1080P panel to watch bluray. On a 32inch 720P(high definition) panel you would not tell the difference. That's why you're better off with a better branded panel with better contrast, response time etc. Resolution is not one of the most important things to consider. Stop listening to idiot JBHIFI/Harvey Norman salesman and do your own research peoples.

Same goes for LED v LCD v Plasma. As a rule, Plasma is generally King, LED in smaller sets. With 32inch panels just because one is LED, doesn't mean it's better than all the 32inch LCD panels. Same reasons.

This tv is fine, picked one up at the boxing day sales and am more then happy. Great tv for the bedroom.

  • The specs are here http://www.sanyo.com.au/products/tvs-set-top-boxes/led-tvs/l…

It looks good for the price but I'm still considering whether I'd get it.
Basically I'm unsure the VGA plug on the back of my PC will give the same 1080p resolution
I get on the laptop's screen. I have no DVI or HDMI on this laptop unfortunately.

    • Hi shlape,

When I plug my laptop VGA to VGA in the back of the TV, it gives the same 1080 resolution.
When plugging in HDMI from laptop to HDMI on the back of the tv, it gives the same 1080 resolution but the picture is a bit blurry and not as good as if you plug it using the VGA plug.
I'm not sure whether it meant to be like this or maybe the TV needs to be setup a certain way when plugging laptop using HDMI to HDMI.

I'm happy so far with this TV :)
